My dad told me to just stay in my hospital room because the guys will come over to fetch me anytime soon. I grabbed the lunch pack given by the hospital and for the first time since I got here, this is by far the time where I enjoyed every munch of food that I’m taking even though it’s still almost tasteless.
I was surprised when they entered my room after I ate my lunch because they’re still supposed to be at class right now. But what surprised me more is the presence of Heaven that visited me just right now.
“You came in early!” I stated the obvious.
“We can’t wait to see you,” Leaf explained why they got in so early.
“But you’re skipping class,” I scolded them.
“You’ll be bored here if we didn’t,” Wind then answered which made sense.
“What if I wasn’t here though? Your absence would be put to waste,” I asked them.
“I’m so sure that you’ll come back,” Heaven answered which I find really awkward because we never talked so much for him to say that. Also, I’m seeing a different version of him right now which is far from the cold version of him when we are at the dorm.
“Heaven, I don’t know what you told my father but thank you for changing his mind,” I gratefully said. If it weren’t for him, I could’ve been at home right now stuck in my room.
“You’re always welcome,” he answered which made me feel weird again but I tried to shrug it off.
“This hospital is so boring and I know how bad you want to get out already so let’s go now,” Wind commanded which we all agreed on because it’s really tiring to stay here.
Heaven insisted to carry my bag which I agreed on because the doctor told me to avoid lifting heavy objects yet. After that, he lead the way going out of the room.
“Wind’s car is already full so you’ll ride on my car,” Heaven informed me while we are walking towards the parking space. I noticed how we signalled something to Wind which I didn’t understand until Wind spoke up.
“Oh! We’ve also got something to do,” Wind said as if he remembered something. “Don’t worry. You’ll be safe with Heaven. Let’s just see each other at the dorm,” he added. Even though I am so confused, I nodded to inform him that I recognized what he told me.
“Heaven! Take care of Hell, okay?” Leaf reminded Heaven which he nodded as well to answer.
When we reached the parking area, we separated our ways since Heaven’s car is parked away from Wind’s car.
I, again, was surprised when Heaven opened the door for me because I never thought that he’s a gentleman. I guess I really haven’t known him aside from the idea of him being cold even to his friends.
When I entered the car, I couldn’t help but to grunt because my wound suddenly became painful.
“Are you okay? Is it hurting? Do you need to go back to the hospital?” He asked consecutively. “Shit! Hans! Speak up!” He added with panic in his voice.
For the nth time, I was surprised to see how we cared for me. I’m seeing a different version of him and it’s very unusual for me so I wasn’t able to answer his questions.
“No need. I just felt a stinging pain in my wound but I’m okay,” I answered.
“Let’s go back inside. It’s better to be sure,” he insisted.
“There’s no need to go back. I’m okay,” I insisted as well but suddenly, he pulled me out of the car by carrying me. “Stop! It’s embarrassing,” I told him but he still walked going back to the hospital.
We entered the emergency room and a nurse approached us so Heaven finally let go of me.
“He was shot by a gun and his wound suddenly became painful when we were about to get home,” Heaven explained looking as if he is more scared than I am.
“Okay. Please put your shirt up so that I can check if the wound is bleeding,” the nurse instructed me which I followed so that we could get this over.
She removed the bandage covering my wound to check it and after a while, she placed another bandage to cover it again.
“There’s actually no problem. Maybe it was stretched a while ago so it felt painful and it’s just normal since the wound is still fresh,” the nurse explained.
“I told you,” I whispered at Heaven because he insisted of going back when it was supposed to be okay.
“It’s better to be sure than harm yourself,” he lectured me. “I promised to your dad that I won’t allow you to be hurt again.”
I felt it when he said those words. I felt the sincerity and his genuineness which I truly appreciate since he’s fulfilling what he told my dad. But again, it made me curious as to why he promised my father to protect me when we’re not really that close to begin with. Why do I feel like I am special for him? Why do I feel like he’s concerned when we never got the chance to bond with each other?
The nurse finally dismissed us so we went back to his car and I can’t help but to ask it from him because it’s really making me curious.
“Why are you like this all of a sudden?” I asked him.
“What do you mean?” He asked. I asked a vague question so it’s my fault why he didn’t understood it.
“You’re suddenly caring and protective which you aren’t. You’re always in your room and if you go out, there you are not talking with anyone else so I find it weird that you’re acting like this right now,” I admitted to him.
“I told you I promised your dad.”
