After waking up, I saw Heaven sleeping in a smaller couch which I find sweet and weird at the same time because he told me to sleep in my room but he also chose to sleep here.
I decided not to wake him up yet and went to the kitchen to find something to eat. Unfortunately, there is no food left in the fridge because they’ve been busy taking care of me in the hospital.
I just drank a glass of cold water instead. After that, I went to my room to get my towel for me to take a refreshing bath to fully wake myself up. After taking a bath, I cleansed my wound and covered it with bandage before going out of the living room again.
I sat for a few moments to wait for Heaven to wake up. There, I noticed that the other guys aren’t here yet which made me wondering on as to why they aren’t here. Since Heaven doesn’t seem to wake up anytime soon yet, I turned on the TV to watch something while waiting. Immediately after hearing the television, Heaven woke up and instantly stood up from the couch.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” He asked.
“You’re still sleeping so I didn’t bother,” I explained to him. “Are you okay now?” I asked him.
“I’m supposed to be the one asking you that,” he answered back at me. “You took a bath?” He then asked after noticing that my hair is still wet and my outfit has changed.
“I need to freshen up,” I explained. I actually don’t have a plan of taking a bath before I slept but I felt the need to do so after waking up. “Besides, I might see the famous athletes of our university practicing in the field and I definitely do not want to look bad on our first meeting. Who knows? Someone from them might actually be my soul mate,” I jokingly added as an answer.
He shrugged his head with a smirk on his face. I suddenly noticed how he looks so good whenever he smiles. Too bad, it’s too rare to happen.
“Shall we go now?” He asked even though he wasn’t able to freshen up yet. His hair is still messy and if I were him, I couldn’t take going out of my unit with that kind of look. “There’s no food in here so I guess you’re hungry by now.”
“I actually am,” I admitted then chuckled after saying that. “But would you go out with that kind of look?” I asked him which made him chuckle this time.
“I’m not a celebrity, Hans. I don’t mind if I look messy outside because I don’t have any reputation to take care of,” he answered which made a lot of sense to be honest. “Besides, we’re just inside the university. It’s not as if I have to impress everyone here.”
I nodded to agree with what he answered. After all, he’s still a guy and not as conscious as I am when it comes to my looks.
“So, shall we go now?” He asked for the second time.
“Let’s eat first. I’m really starving,” I pleaded as an answer. He then laughed and stood up asking me to go.
We decided to just buy a food in a fast food restaurant for takeout and eat it once we go strolling at the field. After buying our food, we started walking towards the field and even though we’re still far from it, I can already see our football players practicing for the university games.
“I told you! They’re here!” I excitedly told him as I point at the field.
“They’re always there, silly,” he answered back as if shoving to my face how innocent I was.
“Still, I’m right,” I insisted and jokingly rolled my eyes on him so he laughed at my innocence.
Imagining how we look like right now, I can feel that we look like some random lovers walking to the field to watch the daily practices of the famous Redskull Kicking Warriors. I can’t help but to feel awkward upon imagining that but I really think that it is how we look like right now.
Once we get to the field, he told me to sit on the bench while watching the football team practice. I don’t know where he went but I just listened at him and started watching the team while eating the fries in my hand.
I was surprised when Heaven came at me holding an ice cream because I really wanted to try it.
“Strawberry ice cream for you,” he then handed it to me.
How did he know that I love strawberry ice cream? Or was it just a lucky guess?
“This is my favourite!” I informed him with too much joy in my voice. “Thank you.”
He just smiled at me as an answer and sat beside me to watch the football players practice. I honestly don’t have any idea about football but this team is really famous for winning consecutive titles for how many years already. Some of them even played in Asian Games to represent our country and watching them right now is making me proud that I can witness it live.
“Do you want to know why I changed?” He asked randomly as if his attention isn’t on the game but on his thoughts for a while now.
“You told me that you’re only fulfilling your promise to my dad,” I answered at him.
“Aside from that, I have my reason,” he said which pacified my curiosity a while ago.
“What is it then?” I asked to know his reason. I don’t know but I feel like something in me is missing because I don’t know what his answer is.
“I lost a friend before and he’s truly special for me. Way back then, I wasn’t able to do something to stop him from going away because I was just a kid. And every day, I kept on asking myself if it is my fault. Shall I do something to get him back? I really don’t know. But certainly, it’s too late to make a move,” I felt his sadness when he told me his reason. I can feel that until now, his carrying it on his heart. “And now, being in the same scenario, I felt like I have to make a move. That’s the reason why I talked to your dad. I want to be a friend, Hans. This time, I have to be your friend.”
Suddenly, my head starts to feel like it’s breaking in two.
