Chapter 29 — Party Rumor

Sophia's POV:

There was a rumor about a party later tonight. It was going to be in the woods, and only the wolves knew where it was. I had never loved my new title until now, but since I was their Luna, I was invited to join them. They kept saying that I had to come.

When Kyle heard about that, he said to forget it. Victor would skin me alive if I even thought about going.

"Why not?" I asked with a big pout.

"It's a werewolf party, little sis, not the normal kind. It's not safe for the Luna to go alone," was his answer, which didn't really explain much.

"Then you come with me," I told him happily. If I needed someone to come, he could.

"No, I can't go with you, Luna. I'm not the Alpha, and Victor would have my heart for it," he explained.

"Grrr…you no fun." I stomped away from him, dragging my bestie Niti with me. At least she was on my side, right?

"Soph, calm down. He's right. I've been to one of those parties before," she said, and I was ready to call our friendship off and beat her ass right now. "But being a Luna does have its advantages," she added with one of her evil smiles. I smiled back, knowing I had just won her on my side.

"How we do this?" I asked her. This was going to be my first party around here. I loved my Daddy and brothers, but they could be a bit overprotective of me.

This wasn't Little me who wanted to go. Little me was terrified of parties, but I wanted to go so badly. If I didn't sneak out for parties now, while I was young, when would I do it? I thought to myself with a giggle.

"First, don't tell the Alpha anything," Niti said, and I nodded. I had already figured that out: don't tell Victor. "After today's match, we'll catch a ride with someone there. You can see the party, enjoy it for a bit, and then we'll go back home and beg for forgiveness," she said.

"Niti!" I exclaimed in disbelief.

"I've been to those parties before, Luna. Believe me—ten minutes are more than enough. Plus, it'll take less than ten for someone to tell the Alpha you are there." Well, when she said it that way, she did have a point.

"Okay. Deal," I said.

"For now, just act normally," she said, and I nodded before going to lunch with her and the boys.

We were talking about random things when Daddy finally had enough with me and forced me to eat some food. I was ready to storm off in anger when he pulled me back for a kiss, making my heart melt and my knee wobble.

"That was so hot. I can't wait to find my own mate," Niti said in a dreamy voice, making me giggle. "Oh no, little one, our love will be a bit firmer, with tons of sex and more sex." At that, I lost the smile. Yikes. "Don't frown. My mate won't be able to resist this," she added, showing off her figure with both hands and making me giggle at how silly she was acting.

When the time for our plan and the match came, Sammy walked me down to sit with the team. I had Kyle there with Adam and me. Now, I knew the difference between them, I thought to myself.

I wished them all good luck before they went in. I cheered for Daddy to win. He won! He did so well. I was supposed to wait for him till he was back so we could leave—and that was my cue. I went out with the rest of the students and searched for Niti.

When I found her standing with two other guys, I ran toward them. We got into their car quickly and took off toward the woods.

"We're so honored to have you with us, Luna," one of the guys said, and I smiled at him, not knowing what more to say. When Victor found out I was here with them, he'd be worse than Adam was when we messed with his paints.

We almost made it to the woods when I heard Daddy calling me through our bond. I froze like I was caught stealing cookies red-handed. I looked at Niti with fear. What should I do? Should I reply or not? What should I tell him?

"I don't know," Niti whispered her reply, too scared he'd hear her, too. That was silly, but right now, I was too afraid he'd hear her too. I tried to come up with a lie, an excuse.

"Took a ride home with Niti," I replied, hoping he'd believe me before shutting up and going to enjoy my ten minutes.
