Chapter 28 — Match

Victor's POV:

We had a basketball match today, but we still went to school. We went every day. We had only skipped a few days, and that was when my baby girl had her period. Then, she and Sammy had their paint accident on Saturday. They were both extremely quiet on Sunday. I knew that Alvin had spanked Sammy for what he had done. He'd been told off before about touching my twin's paint supplies. Maybe Sophia was right and Sammy was a Little. He had some Little traits in him, for sure.

Today was Tuesday. We had a match today in the afternoon. Sophia said she wanted to watch it. She was extremely excited. I'd say she was more excited than we were. She was sitting in my lap this morning, sharing our—well, my—morning coffee. She was too hyperactive to have one for herself, but still, she took a few sips of my coffee while we ate our breakfast together.

After breakfast, we got on the back of my motorcycle and headed toward the school. Sophia kept yelling at me to go faster, faster, but I didn't indulge her much. I did speed up just a little bit, though. Once we made it to school, I helped her off my motorcycle and held her hand while we walked inside. She saw her friend Niti and tried to run over to the girl.

"Daddyyy!" she whined, trying to get away from me, but I wouldn't let her go, still holding her tight. She looked at me in confusion.

"Take it easy, Little one. No getting in trouble," I said, knowing that she was overly excited today.

"Wes…wes…pwomise," she said in her Little voice. I just knew she was going to get herself into some kind of trouble or another.

I let her go with a warning, calling Kyle right away and asking him not to let the Little one out of his sight today. He said yes, saying he'd keep me updated on anything she did today.

As usual, I went to my classes with Adam, who had some interesting things to tell me about my Little girl and her curious questions.

"How come you never explained the neck submission to her?" he asked.

"She likes to sleep in my neck and didn't need to know," I explained to him. If I had told her about it, she might've decided to stop sleeping against my neck, and I loved when she did that.

"Whatever you say, boss," Adam replied with a smirk.

"Did Alvin have to be that hard on Sammy?" I asked him. We hadn't had a chance to sit down and talk until now. Being a mated alpha was taking a lot of my time.

"He knew better. If Alvin didn't punish him, I would've," my twin replied.

"Never touch Sammy," I replied between gritted teeth, using a bit of my Alpha aura. It was an order.

"Yes, Alpha," Adam replied. I felt bad for forcing something on him, but it had to be done.

Our day passed quietly until lunch. My baby girl didn't want to eat because she was busy talking with her friend. I had to force her to shut it and eat. That made her eat with a big pout, but at least she had some food down her throat.

"Bye, Vic," she said as soon as lunch ended, wanting to get away from me since I was the bad guy who had made her eat. I held her back and kissed her on the mouth, not really caring that we were at school. She was my mate, and half of this town was made up of our pack members.

This made her blush and forget all about being mad at me. She ran towards Niti, gushing about how cute I was. Girls.

The day finally passed, and it was time for the match. A rumor was going around school that there would be a party in the woods if we won.

I had Sammy bring Sophia down to her seat with the rest of the team before he went back to his friends. She was staying where I could see her, even during the match. Call me possessive and see how much I didn't care.

The match began, and the whole school was cheering for us. The only voice I heard was Sophia's. She was wishing me luck through our bond. I turned to smile at her before the game started. We won. Of course we did.

I earned a big kiss afterward. I told her to wait for me until I got my stuff. I could shower at home and celebrate by eating ice cream with my mate. When I came back out, running, I didn't see her—not at the stadium, not outside, not next to my bike, not with one of my brothers.

She had just disappeared.
