Chapter 163
Sienna's pov
After all the chaos, my body didn't feel as stiff as when I first woke up, and the pain in my chest was now manageable. But I still couldn't get out of bed.
Outside the window, the sky was a clear blue, and I could just make out the rolling sea.
Since Eleanor didn't seem eager to explain, I asked, ''where are we headed?''
She mentioned Theo, so this must have been his doing.
Everything that happened before I blacked out was still fresh in my mind. It seemed like the shooting was part of his plan too.
Dying in front of Harrison , I wondered how he felt at that moment.
At least now, I was finally away from him.
"We're going abroad. From what I know, Luna's there too, so you both can start anew."
I knew we were going abroad, but I didn't expect we were going to the same country as Luna.
Eleanor was about to explain more when the door opened, and Theo walked in along with a man wearing a half-mask.
"Sienna , how are you feeling now? Any discomfort besides the wound?"
I shook my head and placed my hand over my chest.
My heart was still beating, but it was injured, and each beat brought a faint pain. The more it hurt, the more I felt the urge to press on it.
"What exactly is going on? Didn't I get shot multiple times? Were those bullets fake?"
Theo patted the shoulder of the man beside him. "He can explain that. Fang Ming, go ahead."
The man with the half-mask was actually Milo, the missing member of the Moretti Family!
He maintained a calm demeanor, his cold and stern expression making him seem unapproachable.
Looking at him, I couldn't help but think of Harrison .
Always with that cold face.
"I fired the shots, and the bullets were designed by me. The first shot caused temporary shock, and the rest of the bullets released artificial blood when they hit you."
As he spoke, Milo took out a bullet and showed me its structure.
I didn't understand bullet design. How could it cause temporary shock?
Eleanor had the same question. "Did you use some special drug? Can a bullet to the heart really cause temporary shock without being fatal?"
Milo pulled out a gun from somewhere and loaded a bullet. "If you don't believe me, you can try it yourself. I guarantee you won't die."
"No thanks, I don't want to be in a coma for half a month and wake up with a painful wound."
Eleanor shook. "You might dare to try it on yourself, but I wouldn't."
So the shot I took was my own doing, as I had asked Theo to fake my death.
But I didn't expect to be in a coma for so long.
"Why was I in a coma for half a month? What happened during that time?"
Everyone fixed their eyes on Theo.
I carefully spoke, "Even if I died, Harrison wouldn't have let you take my body, right?"
My request must have been difficult for Theo.
He nodded and then walked to the bedside, picking up something placed next to my pillow.
I looked over and realized it was my pocket watch.
"You..."
I immediately tried to grab it back.
This watch couldn't be seen by anyone.
But this time, Theo dodged and steadied my shoulder. "Don't move. I'll tell you everything you want to know, including the secret of this watch."
The world could flip on its head in a heartbeat, and I had lived through it once.
From a privileged daughter to someone with nothing, my life had lost all hope.
And now, the so-called truth Theo was telling me felt like a dream.
After I was taken to the hospital, with Elias's help, the nurses swapped me out, replacing me with a patient who had died unexpectedly, using my face to deceive Harrison .
Theo had planned to take me away once I woke up, but since I didn't wake up, Elias sent Eleanor to take care of me.
They chose a private yacht to avoid Harrison noticing anything unusual.
And my true identity was not Victor's daughter, but Josephine's bloodline.
I couldn't believe it. "How is that possible?! From as far back as I can remember, my mother was Nora, and I even look like Victor. It's obvious we're biological father and daughter."
Honestly, I couldn't believe it
Being connected to the Moretti Family would certainly benefit me, but I didn't want to take advantage of it.
What was not mine would never belong to me.
"Looking like Victor is just a coincidence. From the moment I first saw you, I knew you were Josephine's daughter. Our family can recognize it at a glance." Theo explained slowly, his smile so gentle it made me feel dazed.
Clearly, he cared about me, like an elder caring for a younger family member.
"There are many people in the world who look alike. I might not be Ms. Moretti's child."
This seems very ridiculous.
Theo wasn't in a hurry. He brought out a paternity test report. "Just saying it won't convince you. The test report doesn't lie. Besides, this watch is something the Moretti Family prepares for each child. This one was Josephine's."
I only looked at the test result.
And the test result was from a month ago, while I was in the hospital
The test was conducted by Elias.
The result showed a familial relationship.
"How can this be? I'm not my mom's child."
Did my mom know about this?
"I know this result is hard for you to accept right now, and we won't force you. But since you're part of the Moretti Family, we'll do everything we can to protect you and won't let anyone bully you."
I shook my head immediately. "It's not hard to accept, just shocking. So I'm not part of the Price family."
That was why Victor's attitude towards me changed so drastically, and why Agnes gave me the pocket watch before she died.
"My mom has always treated me well, and Victor... at least he was good to me until I became an adult."
So they had known my identity all along.
"Sienna , this is a good thing. You're not alone anymore. You have many relatives in this world."
Eleanor gently comforted me. "As for how you became Ms. Ellis's child, there's plenty of time to investigate that later. Now that you're away from Harrison and have found your family, you should be happy."
I couldn't help but smile. "I'm not unhappy, really. Finding my real family makes me very happy."
But there was an emptiness in my heart.
It seemed that all past loves and hates vanished with the revelation of my true identity.
From now on, there would be no more Sienna in this world.
"No rush, we have plenty of time. When the ship docks, Milo will arrange a place for you. From now on, you have a new name, Lucy Reed."
