Chapter 162
Sienna's pov
Instead of waiting around for Harrison to let me out, I figured I might as well find a way myself.
He couldn't keep me locked up forever.
Harrison , as usual, rarely stayed home overnight. Even when he did, he'd keep me up all night, only to leave before I woke up the next morning.
It felt like the first five years of our marriage is all over, except now he would say, "I love you."
I could have Martha pass messages to the Moretti family when she went out shopping, but I didn't want to drag her into this mess. If Harrison found out, she could lose her job.
Lately, the farthest I could go was the front yard of the villa.
Without access to any electronic devices, I could only read books and take walks in the yard.
After my afternoon nap, I heard the doorbell and went outside to check.
Theo was at the door, his expression growing colder as Martha spoke to him.
When he noticed me, his eyes widened in surprise.
"Mr. Moretti, please don't make this difficult for me. I'm just following Mr. Blackwood's orders; I can't make decisions."
I asked seriously, "Martha, please invite Mr. Moretti in."
Martha shook her head anxiously. "Mrs. Blackwood, please don't make this difficult for me. Mr. Blackwood doesn't allow you to see anyone."
"So that's it. I knew Sienna had to be with Harrison ," Theo said coldly. "Not allowing her to see anyone? Does that mean she can't leave either? Illegal confinement? Looks like I need to call the police. Open the door! Or I'll report you too!"
Martha didn't know what to do.
I looked calmly at Theo. "Harrison pays her salary. Don't make it hard for her."
Theo grew more furious, pounding the gate. "Damn it, I should have known you were here."
"It's fine. Overall, I'm living quite well. No one bothers me. But Mr. Moretti, does our previous conversation still stand?"
I didn't know how many times Theo had come or if he would have another chance to come again.
It was rare to see him, so I had to seize the opportunity.
"Please."
A black sedan pulled up to the parking spot outside the gate. Harrison had returned just in time.
"Mrs. Blackwood, let's go back," Martha reminded me again. "Don't make Mr. Blackwood angry."
I watched Harrison get out of the car, thinking about how to face him.
In front of Theo, I didn't want to make a scene.
Harrison , dressed in sportswear, got out and opened the back door, helping Kaia out.
"Mr. Moretti, you're not welcome here."
As Martha opened the door, Theo grabbed the iron gate, preventing it from being locked.
"Sienna , come here."
I understood his intention and ran past Harrison towards the outside.
It was a rare chance to escape, and with Theo there, maybe I could really leave.
"Get back here!"
Harrison handed Kaia to Martha and grabbed me tightly. "If you run, I'll lock you up."
That made me want to run even more!
"Let go! I've had enough of you!"
I didn't want to talk about Kaia's presence anymore.
"Why don't you deal with your own issues before bothering me? Do you want me to die in front of you to be satisfied?"
Kaia looked scared, her voice urgent. "Ms. Price, calm down! Harrison just wants you to be okay. What would he do if you died?"
I couldn't break free, so I reached out to Theo with my other hand.
"Why do you always want to escape? What do you want from me?!"
Finally, I grabbed Theo's outstretched hand.
The two men were equally strong. Even though I tried to move towards Theo, I couldn't break free from Harrison .
"Fine, I'll stay. But you have to let her go and never see her again. Can you do that?"
Looking back, I saw Harrison 's eyes red with anger.
"Do you have to make this difficult?"
Theo stepped forward, trying to separate our hands. "It won't be difficult if you let go."
Wasn't he the one making it difficult?
A gunshot rang out unexpectedly, and my heart tightened. Before I could react, a sharp pain shot through my chest.
The shooter had appeared again.
One shot wasn't enough; a series of bullets followed.
I saw my chest turn red.
Was the first shot too painful? I couldn't feel the subsequent ones.
Too painful, too exhausting.
"Sienna !"
Who was calling me?
As I fell, I saw only the sky before losing consciousness.
A bullet to the heart—I was probably going to die.
I didn't get to see Harrison 's despair and regret before dying. What a pity.
When I opened my eyes, I thought I was in heaven.
Or maybe hell... The darkness around me and the swaying sensation...
I tried to sit up, but the pain in my chest nearly made me pass out.
The dead didn't feel pain, right?
So, I wasn't dead?
As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I saw the layout of the room.
It looked like a typical bedroom, but what was causing the swaying?
Getting up was impossible. The heavy feeling pulled me back into darkness.
I didn't know how long I slept, but I vaguely heard voices.
"Are you sure your bullets are fine? Why isn't she waking up?"
"They're fine. I've tested them many times. But her body is weak. Even if she wakes up, she'll need time to recover."
When I opened my eyes again, sunlight streamed through the window.
I was definitely alive.
A man sat at the desk opposite the bed.
He had his back to me and didn't seem to notice I was awake.
I didn't dare move, so I asked, "Where am I?"
My voice was hoarse.
The man turned, revealing a mask covering the right side of his face. I couldn't imagine his full appearance.
"On a ship."
He asked calmly, "How do you feel?"
I tried to move my arm, but it pulled at the pain in my chest.
"It hurts when I move." I pointed to my chest. "Did you save me?"
I remembered being shot multiple times, but the pain seemed to be only in my chest.
The man didn't answer and left the room.
What was going on?
Soon, someone else came in. To my surprise, it was Eleanor.
"Thank God you're finally awake!"
Eleanor fiddled with a medical kit. I was too shocked to speak, just watching her examine me.
It was easier with Eleanor checking me. When I saw only one bullet wound on my chest, I couldn't help but ask, "What's going on? Why wasn't I riddled with bullets?"
I had lost so much blood. It was impossible to have no other wounds.
"It's a long story. Mr. Moretti will explain later."
