Chapter 29 Tempt me

Chapter 29 Tempt me

I stared at her in disbelief, not sure whether she hit her head on something or got drunk and it didn’t show in those cat eyes of hers, regardless, it made no sense.
“Huh? Did you hit your head on something? Are you okay?” I asked, my expression going from scared to concerned because I couldn’t understand what she had just said.
“I’m perfectly fine Lily” she chuckled, making her way towards me while I pulled back. I can’t even tell what she’s thinking, is she trying to use me to get to Dante or what? Her motive isn’t even clear enough for me to proceed with this discreet meeting of ours.
“I don’t think you are—I’ll talk to you when you’re—I don’t know, sober” I made my way to the door. “This feels like a waste of time—for both of us” I clenched my fists as I walked to the door.
“Don’t you want the video down? Denise out of the picture?” She asked prominent questions that made me pause, turn to her and understand that she wasn’t drinking and she’s perfectly sober.
“So what do you really want?” I stared straight at her, her lips curved into a thin line, it looked mischievous “And don’t say that you’re interested in me because I don’t understand what you mean by that”
“Then at least let me explain” she dropped her cup on her sturdy mahogany desk, my eyes went from the cup back to her as she stared back at me “You’re quite amusing—and different, if you can work for me, then I’ll make sure the video’s down and make Denise see an end—putting Dante back on top” her subtle tone ringing ‘danger’ in my ears. She did seem to have such power to do all that she said.
“Why can’t I just trust Dante to do all that?” I asked, my heart racing just a bit and she walked closer to me, her scent of Jasmine mixed with those pair of eyes, her cherry red lipstick glittering, making her pale skin a perfect match for her body and makeup.
“If you did trust him, you wouldn’t be here—without his knowledge” she was right, taking her fingertip, she took off the strand of hair on my face, pushing it behind my ear. I could feel the air thicken as her face stood inches apart from mine.
“It’s not that I don’t trust him—” I sighed “It’s just that, I feel that’s it’s all my fault, because he got entangled with me, he’s in this mess”
“But you have your suspicions that Denise must have caused your kidnapping—don’t you?” That had been on my mind the moment Jameson informed me about it. For all I know, she connived with those thugs and put the blame on the mafia.
“What do you want me to do?” She didn’t respond, I swallowed hard “As long as it doesn’t interfere with my work as Dante’s accountant, I’ll do it” this looked like a trap, one I was voluntarily getting into but I didn’t care, it didn’t matter, all that does is making sure Dante’s position was secured.
“You have to go somewhere in my place—but I’ll join you right after” I raised a brow at her. What on earth is she even playing at? I go in her place, what if I’m shot dead? But then again, I didn’t put a condition that would keep me safe from having a bullet in my chest.
“Go in your place to do what? What if I’m killed?” I paused, I wasn’t done yet “And why bring you just go? Since you’ll be joining me after” she laughed aloud, pulling back. Her eyes eased just a bit.
“Calm down—you won’t be shot, do you think I’ll send you to a place that’ll have my head?” She continued “Dante will have my heart if anything happens to you” she was right about that. But it still sounded absurd. I thought she would want me to speak to Dante on her behalf but here she was talking about sending me as an advocate.
“And what do I do when I’m there? Huh?”
“Don’t rush it my brunette darling—you’ll have to be at an exquisite party, talk on my behalf, I can’t send anyone else—I don’t trust them well enough” this conversation just got even weirder.
“And you trust me?” I scoffed “I don’t even trust you, this doesn’t even make any sense! I’m leaving!” I turned to leave.
“He tasted good, didn’t he?” I paused, turned to her wide eyed. How would she know about Dante and I having sx?
“What do you mean by that?” I heaved,
“You’ve done it with him—he’s your first isn’t he?” She asked as I walked back to her, she placed her bottoms on her desk, her cat eyes staring as seductively as the first day I had met her “It’s quite obvious”
“That’s my personal business” I said with anger in my tone. She didn’t seem to care, her fingers traced my face.
“I trust you because you won’t fall in their traps—the men, you look so loyal to Dante, you’ll be able to work better than the girls around me” she revealed. She was right about one thing, I had sworn loyalty to him the moment our skin rubbed against each other.
“Can I trust you to stand your ground?” She asked, it seemed more out of courtesy. I nodded in response. Then there was a knock at the door, I turned to look, something in me jolted at the thought of seeing Dante walk in whilst I’m here. Claire didn’t utter a word but I kept starring at the door when I felt something on my chest, I jolted back, her hands had traveled to my breasts.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I whispered.
“I wanted to know what Dante’s now interested in—I mean, you’re not a big cup but he enjoys you” she smirked.
“Keep your hands to yourself!” I said firmly. The knock came again and she quickly muttered a “Come in” phrase, letting the lady open the door, she held some documents in her hands, placing them on her desk before walking out.
Claire went behind her desk, settling in her swivel chair “So you in or not?” She asked. I took in a deep breath.
“Give me some time to think about it—I’ll give you an answer as soon as I can” I said, looking at my phone vibrating in my hand. I had ignored the vibration for a while, I just knew I couldn’t lie to Dante and so I didn’t just pick it up.
“Until then—please don’t call me” I said finally before heading for the door. She didn’t utter a word, I made my way to the elevator, picking up the phone, I heard a low tone from the other side.
“Amorino—where are you? You didn’t even let someone take you to your destination” his voice almost above a whisper. Think Lily! What can you say?
“I went to the park—why is your voice so low? What happened?” I asked as I hailed down a cab, taking it back home. “I’ll be home soon”

I opened the door to find him on the bed, his skin sweating profusely and his body restless on the bed “Da—Dante, what happened?” I rushed to his side, dropping my bag to the side.
“Amorino—I’ve missed you” he mumbled, I took his head, placing him on my chest.
“I’m right here” I wiped off the sweat from his face with a part of my top “Why are you sick?” I said, perplexed.
“Because you didn’t stay with me all night and this morning you just disappeared—” he sounded like a sulking child with a low masculine baritone, I turned to look at his face, there it was, a grin on his face, his arms wrapped around me.
“Okay—I’m here, let me just get a bath” I smiled, trying to use this opportunity to actually escape but it was too late. I felt his lips on my neck, sucking. I bit my lower lip to suppress a moan, then I felt the zipper on my jeans go down but my body enjoyed his taunts to my neck that I placed my hands on his shoulder to push him off gently but his body felt warm and his fingers felt gentle on my underwear.
“Dan—Dante” I breathed “I sa—said no sx”
He pulled his lips from my neck “Well—this is roleplay—too late” he smirked. I wanted to hold his hand, to stop him, instead, I let his fingers work, rubbing my clits with my underwear intact. This felt like the first, only different, this time, I wanted not just fingers but I didn’t dare speak.
“No—not now Dante” I moaned, his fingers pushing my panties to a side and stroking up, down and around. My mind had begun to go blank.
“I—wa—want to get to know you” I struggled to say in between moans, his fingers traveling from there to my chest, his lips colliding with mine.
“I want you—I want everything about you, your smile, your scent, your body and I want mine to be yours” he looked into my eyes, a flicker of desire in those light green eyes, flickers that were too prominent to ignore.
I held onto his hand, taking it away from my skin, taking control of my mind but just when I thought I had gained control of my body, his skin grazed mine and I felt his bulge. And it escaped my lips,
“I want to see it—”
