Chapter 114 Dark powers?

Chapter 114 Dark powers?
Lucian turned to his mom, shocked that she had found out.

Somehow, he knew for a fact that neither Kalia nor Carina told her, so he kept wondering how she found out.

Hazel nodded, her face filled with utter shock.

“Judging by the look on your face, I am right.”

Lucian shook his head.

“She's not my mate mom, Ava is.

I've seen Ava in my dreams since I was fourteen and the moment I met her, I felt the mate pull to her immediately.”

“But you felt it with Carina too.”

He swallowed, he could not deny it, but there was nothing he could do about it now.

“Carina is not my mate, Mom.”

He spoke after a while.

“And I would like for us to not have this conversation again.”

Without waiting for her to speak, he walked out, leaving her speechless and confused.

When Lucian got back to the living room, he saw Kael.

“Dad, you're back.”

Kael nodded slightly and moved away from Ava who he looked like he was having a serious conversation with.

Lucian also moved till they met in the middle.

He turned towards Ava before looking back at his dad.

“Is everything okay?”

Ava smiled at him but Kael simply tapped his shoulder and walked out.

Lucian looked worried, just yesterday, everything was perfectly fine. He began to wonder why the atmosphere was unnecessarily tense now.

Ava moved close to Lucian and held his hand.
He turned to her and noticed she was suddenly looking a bit scared.

“Lucian, I… I don't think I should stay here any longer.”

Lucian raised a brow and looked at her, worried.

“What are you talking about?”

Ava bent her head, looking like she was trying to hide her hurt.

“I thought our family had accepted me. I truly wanted them to see me as part of the family, but I don't think they want me here at all.”

Now, he was even more curious as to what was happening.

'Is this because of Carina?'

“What did my father say to you?”

She shook her head and placed one of her hands on her mouth as though she was stopping herself from crying.

“I'd rather not talk about it.”

She rushed upstairs. Lucian called out to her but she didn't respond and just rushed away.

Kael was finally in the room with Hazel and Hazel immediately noticed something was wrong.

“Is everything okay?”

She asked as Kael sat in the bed, unbuttoning his shirt.

“It's that Ava girl,”

Hazel rushed and sat next to him, she wanted to hear what he would say.

“She looked rather suspicious earlier today.”

Hazel raised a brow.

“Suspicious… how?”

Kael turned to her and began to explain.

When he got back from work

He got out of the car, tired from the meetings and work but as soon as he got to the front porch, he was hit with heavy dark magic, one that he had never felt in his entire life, not even with Rave.

The magic felt like something he would feel with the darkest fallen gods from the underworld.

It was strong and held way too much hate, way too much for it to be coming from inside his house.

He walked in silently and saw Ava by the dining table.

He was about to call her when he noticed she was doing something around the bowl of water on the table.

She was not speaking, her hand just kept twirling and so was the water in the bowl.
It was spinning and spinning, rising higher than the length of the bowl, just enough for him to see that the water had turned completely black.

“Ava?”

He called and she immediately stopped and turned to him.

“Is… everything okay?”

He asked and she smiled as she moved closer to him.

She moved close and he looked right into her eyes.

He knew he hadn't seen wrong, that darkness was evident in her eyes as she smiled at him.

“Welcome home, Alpha Kael, I was simply waiting for Lucian so we can have dinner together.”

Kael looked back towards the dining room before looking back at her, and just then, he heard Lucian's voice.

Back to the present

“You think… she has evil intentions?”

Kael shook his head.

“I don't know if she had evil intentions or if she was just born with very dark blood.

She said both her parents died when she was a child, so we have no clue who her family is.

And… she's Lucian's mate.”

Hazel shook her head, causing Kael to look at her confused.

“It's one of two things, it's either Lucian has two mates, or Ava probably used her dark magic to make him believe she was his mate.”

Kael was still not fully brought up to speed.

“What do you mean by that? Who else is his mate?”

“Carina.”

Kael looked at her in shock.

He could not bring himself to believe what she was saying.

“What are you talking about? Miguel's daughter?”

Hazel nodded fervently

“She found out on her eighteenth birthday, and your son rejected him, saying he already had a mate and didn't want to be with her.”

“What!?”

Carina was loved by both Kael and Hazel but Kael was a different breed when it came to all three children. He was the favorite parent and uncle because of how much he showed his love.

He truly loved Carina a lot and as her godfather, hearing that he lost the chance to be her father-in-law just broke his heart.

“And does Ava know this?”

Hazel shook her head.

“I doubt it, even Dona and Miguel have no idea.

I heard it by mistake today when Lucian and Kalia were arguing.”

Kael sighed.

“For now, let's not act out on emotions.

We don't know if Ava is what we think of we are just misjudging her, let's wait and see how it goes first. And trust Lucian to make the right choice.”

Hazel didn't want to, but she nodded, agreeing with him.

“But I'm telling Dona first thing tomorrow morning.”
