Chapter 115 No more secrets
Chapter 115 No more secrets
The next day, Lucian went to Carina's house very early.
“Lucian? What a pleasant surprise.”
Dona said, hugging him as soon as she saw him.
He smiled and lied.
“I came to take Carina to school. I heard she has been having a pretty bad time.”
Dona smiled
“How sweet of you my darling. She's almost done, she'll join you soon.”
He looked at his wristwatch and knew Kalia was definitely going to be here soon.
“Mom, I'm…”
She paused as soon as he saw Lucian standing next to her mom.
“Oh here she is, Carina, Lucian has offered to take you home.”
Carina tilted her head in surprise, but because she didn't want her mom to know anything, she quietly followed him into his car.
“Drive.”
Just as they were driving out, Kalia was driving in with her bike but they completely missed each other.
“Are you going to tell me what exactly is going on now?”
Lucian had a rather expressionless look on his face as he spoke still looking forward.
“Why are you acting like this is the first time I'm taking you to school?”
His words genuinely made Carina scoff.
“We both know that is not going to be happening anymore.
Just speak and get it over with.”
Lucian turned to her and his heart skipped another beat.
He hated it, he hated how he felt just being this close to her. He hated how fast his heart raced just by looking at her.
Yes, the pull was not there anymore, but aside from not feeling that electric pull, every other feeling was still there. In fact. It felt like the feelings just kept intensifying.
“I know you're angry about what happened, but dragging Kalia into it and not giving her a chance to truly get to know Ava is not fair on your part.”
Carina looked at him in utter shock.
“Wh… what?”
She was almost too speechless to speak.
“You might think I'm a bad guy for this, you can curse me out any way you want, but I think it's time for you to become an independent lady and stop relying on Kalia.”
Carina's eyes twitched, she wasn't just shocked anymore, she was angry.
“The world doesn't revolve around you Lucian.”
Her words came to him as a surprise. He thought she was going to cry and think about it or something.
Usually, she would do anything he asked without any effort.
“If Kalia doesn't want to speak to me anymore, that's on her, but if you think I'm going to let go of the one person who means so much to me just because you ask me to, you must be dreaming.”
Lucian smiled lightly and she couldn't help but look and think
'I can't believe I fell for this smile.'
“And do you even know how much pain you are causing this person who supposedly means so much to you?”
Carina raised a bow.
“She has always known about Ava, since when I started dating her. But out of some silly obligations and loyalty to you, she couldn't tell you, and she couldn't accept her.
Tell me, isn't that you just think only you matter?”
The car suddenly came to a fast halt, causing Carina to fall forward but Lucian was quick to place his hand by her head to stop her from getting hurt.
They looked forward and saw Kalia had stopped in front of them with her bike.
She got down and walked towards Lucian's side, banging on the door.
“Carina? Carina! Come out!!”
Carina wiped the tears that fell from her face and looked at Lucian.
“I don't know who you are anymore Lucian.
I spent all my life loving and chasing after you, but don't worry, I don't plan on doing any of that ever again.”
He turned to her and swallowed.
“But you see that girl banging hard o you window?”
She let out a soft smile that made Lucian's fists curl.
“I know exactly who she is, and she is all I need.”
Saying that, she opened the door harshly and slammed it on his face.
Lucian stayed seated, just watching them leave.
His heart was hurting so badly for some reason. It felt like he was actually losing something he was going to regret deeply.
He watched them get on the bike and his eyes flickered but he cleared his throat and spoke.
“Go back home.”
The driver bowed and turned the car around.
When Carina and Kalia got to school, Kalia quickly took off her helmet and looked at Carina.
“What happened? Why did you go with him? I thought you said you were over him.”
Carina smiled at the numerous questions as she also took off her helmet.
“I only followed him because I didn't want my mom to think of anything.
I definitely don't like your brother anymore.”
She began walking away and Kalia quickly packed her bike properly before rushing after her.
“What did he say? Huh? What did he want?”
Carina spoke like she wasn't bothered.
“He told me to stay away from you and gave you time to bond with Ava.”
Kalia paused and when Carina noticed she wasn't following her again, she turned only to see her standing far away.
Carina smiled and walked towards her.
“Of course I'm not going to do that, but you should actually get to know her.
She is his mate anyway.”
Kalia shook her head.
“I'd never want to know her, she pisses me the fuck off.”
Carina smiled.
“Language, Miss Damon.”
After saying that, she took Kalia's hands into hers, causing her to look at her wondering what else was said.
“Don't go keeping secrets from me like that Kalia.
If you knew he already had a mate, you should have told me.”
Kalia's eyes flickered, Carina could feel her heart beating faster.
“I… Carina…”
Carina shook her head.
“I understand why you did it, and I'm not holding it against you, I just want you to be able to talk to me about any and everything.”
Kalia held her tears back as she nodded.
