Tommorow
VIOLET’S POINT OF VIEW

The conversation didn’t slow down after that.If anything… it got louder.Mira leaned back dramatically in her chair, waving her hands like she was suddenly overwhelmed by life itself.

“Wait. Wait. Wait.”Amara frowned.

“What now?”Mira’s eyes widened.

“We are forgetting the most important part of the entire school year.”I blinked.

“…what?”She pointed between all of us like she was announcing breaking news.

“PROM.”There was a beat of silence.Then.......

“…oh my God,” Amara whispered.
And just like that, everything exploded.
Mira sat upright so fast her chair almost scraped the floor.

“PROM IS NEXT WEEK.”Amara gasped louder this time.

“WAIT—no, no, no. Prom is next Friday.”
I froze slightly.
“…Friday?”
Mira nodded aggressively.
“Yes. Friday. And Violet’s mom’s wedding is Saturday.”
There was another pause.
Then all three of us just stared at each other.
“…that’s insane,” I muttered.
Amara leaned forward, eyes wide.
“Wait. So this is literally the last stretch of high school life?”
Mira threw her hands up.
“YES. THAT’S WHAT I’M SAYING.”
Her voice dropped slightly, suddenly more excited than panicked.
“We’re literally about to graduate energy. Like… this is the final movie montage stage.”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Why are you talking like this is a drama series?”
“It IS a drama series,” she snapped immediately.
Amara smiled softly, shaking her head.
“I can’t believe prom is actually here though…”
Mira pointed at her.
“Exactly! Like, dresses, music, pictures, chaos......”
She suddenly stopped mid-sentence, eyes narrowing thoughtfully.
“…wait.”
Amara groaned.
“What again?”
Mira leaned forward with a slow grin.
“I heard Johnson is going with someone else.”
Amara immediately sat up.
“What? JOHNSON?”
Mira nodded.
“That’s what I heard.”
Amara scoffed loudly.
“No way. He literally told me he was still thinking.”
Mira shrugged.
“Then you better remind him faster.”
Amara crossed her arms.
“If he doesn’t ask me out, I’m asking him myself.”I choked slightly.

“Mira.....Amara.....please.”But Mira just waved me off.

“What? I support women taking initiative.”
Amara pointed at her.

“I LIKE THAT ENERGY.”I shook my head, laughing despite myself.

“You people are dangerous.”
Mira suddenly turned back to me, eyes sparkling again.
“Okay but YOU.”
I pointed at myself.
“Me?”
“Yes,” she said firmly. “Prom. Dylan.”
My stomach flipped instantly.
“I don’t even know what’s happening yet,” I said quickly.
Amara smirked.
“But something is happening.”
I didn’t answer.
Because… she wasn’t wrong.
The library buzzed softly around us, but inside our little corner, everything felt louder.
Excitement.Nervousness.Change, it's weird that no one has told us that we're loud
Mira suddenly leaned back again, calmer now.

“I just can’t believe everything is happening at once.”Amara nodded.

“Prom Friday.”Mira continued.

“Wedding Saturday.”I added softly.

“And… whatever tomorrow is.”That made all of us pause. For a second, the teasing faded.
Even Mira looked slightly more serious.

“…you think he’s going to tell you?” Amara asked quietly.I hesitated. Then nodded slightly.

“…I think he has to.”Because the way he looked at me this morning…He wasn’t going to keep it inside forever"i muttered and bit my lip.

#EVENING#

That night came faster than I expected. And I barely noticed the hours passing until my phone lit up.it was Dylan

Are you awake? My heart jumped instantly.I stared at it for a second before replying

Yeah… can’t sleep Almost immediately, the typing bubble appeared.Then disappeared.Then appeared again.Finally........

SameA pause.Then another message.

About tomorrow… I want us to leave early. Like morning early I read and sat up slightly.

That early?

Yeah I want to take you somewhere before everything gets… loud again. My chest tightened softly. Before I could overthink it, I replied.

Okay. I’ll be Ready a few seconds passed.
Then.......

Good another pause.Then.........

Violet?

Yeah

Typing bubble,Longer this time......Then finally:

Thank you for saying yes
I stared at the screen for a moment.
Something warm spread through my chest.

You’re acting like I agreed to something Dangerous a faint “seen” appeared.
Then.......

Maybe it isMy breath caught slightly.
Before I could respond, another message came in.

Sleep, Violet. You’re going to need it Tomorrow I smiled a little to myself.

You too A final pause.Then.......

Goodnight, Violet,I held the phone for a second longer than necessary. Then whispered softly into the quiet room.

“…goodnight, Dylan.”And for the first time that night…I actually closed my eyes without overthinking.

#MORNING#

DYLAN’S POINT OF VIEW

Morning came too fast or maybe I just never really slept enough to feel like it came at all.I lay there for a while, staring at the ceiling, already awake before I even fully accepted it.Saturday.My mind repeated it like it needed to make sure I understood.
Saturday meant I had already crossed the line.No more thinking. No more delaying. No more...... “maybe later.”Because today wasn’t just a normal day anymore.Today I was taking her there. To the place I go when I can’t breathe properly. To the place that doesn’t lie to me. To the place where I've never taken any girl to.

And more than anything…To the place where I was finally going to stop hiding.I sat up slowly, rubbing my face with one hand.

My room was still dim, soft morning light slipping in through the curtains without asking permission.Everything felt too still.Too quiet.Like even the house knew something important was about to happen.I stood up and walked to the window.Outside, the world looked normal........Too normal.

People would wake up, scroll their phones, complain about the day, plan things they’d probably cancel later. And I was about to take Violet somewhere that didn’t feel like any of that.Somewhere real.Somewhere that didn’t allow pretending.I exhaled slowly.

“…don’t mess this up,” I muttered to myself.
Not like a joke.Like a reminder.I went to the bathroom, washed my face, and stared at my reflection for a moment longer than usual.I didn’t look tired.I looked… tensed.

"Dude you've got to tell her, what's wrong with you?"I remembered Zayn's words and I immediately sighed loudly.

Like someone standing right before a decision they can’t undo. And honestly, that’s exactly what it was.
By the time I finished getting ready, my phone was already in my hand before I even thought about it.I stared at her name for a second......Mon Cherie......My thumb hovered. Then I typed.

Good morning Mon Cherie......I’ll be there soonI didn’t add anything else.
No emojis. No extra words.Because anything more would feel like pretending I wasn’t nervous.A few seconds passed.Then.......
Typing…My chest tightened slightly without permission. Then her reply came.

Okay DylanJust two words. But they did something to me anyway.I locked my phone and walked out.The drive to her place felt longer than usual. Not because the distance changed. But because my thoughts were louder than the engine.Every stoplight gave me time to think too much.

Every empty road felt like space I couldn’t fill with anything useful.By the time I parked outside her house, my hands were already tight on the steering wheel without me noticing.I sat there for a second. Then another,Then I finally got out.....The air outside was cooler than I expected.

Morning still holding onto its calm,I walked up to the door.....Knocked once. And waited.
A few seconds later, it opened. And there she was.Violet.Standing there like she hadn’t just woken up.Like she had already been ready before I even arrived. Her eyes met mine immediately. And for a second, neither of us spoke.Just that quiet moment. That pause where everything feels like it’s holding its breath.

“You’re early,” she said softly.
I nodded slightly.
“Couldn’t wait.”
Her head tilted a little.
“…couldn’t wait for what?”
I didn’t answer.
Not yet.
Because if I did, I might say too much too soon.
Instead, I stepped back a little and motioned toward the road.
“Come on,” I said quietly.
“We should go.”
She hesitated.
Just for a second.
Then she grabbed her things.
And followed me.
The car ride started off quiet.
Not awkward.
Just… full.
Full of things we weren’t saying yet.
The city slowly faded behind us as the roads widened and opened.
Buildings became trees.
Noise became distance.
And distance became silence.
Violet sat by the window, watching everything shift as we left the familiar behind.
I kept my eyes mostly forward.
But I could feel her there.
Present.
Thinking.
Maybe wondering.
Eventually she spoke.
“…you’re not telling me anything, are you?”
A faint smile touched my lips.
“No.”
That earned a small sigh from her.
But she didn’t push.
Not this time.
And I was grateful for that.
Because I wasn’t sure I could explain it properly yet.
Not until we got there.
Not until the world finally got quiet enough for the truth to breathe.
