Chapter 94 From The Trash

Chapter 94 From The Trash

Arriving at the hospital, Jessica was let to the ward where her son was being taken care of. She was surprised to see Chris sitting next to the bed where her son was lying.

She stopped, frozen by the entrance of the room. What was he still doing there? She had expected him to just drop him at the hospital and leave but he was actually sitting there, looking... Worried.

She had forgotten about her son for a moment and all of her attention was fixed on her husband and how he was looking at his son with so much love and affection.

Did he love their son that much? Did he truly care about him or was he just acting?

She cleared her throat and walked into the room, her hands crossed below her breast. "Tell me now if there are any secret cameras in here." She boldly said as she walked in.

Chris looked back at her, sparing her just a glance before looking back at the sleeping baby boy on the bed. "Took you long enough." He responded without looking back at her.

She scoffed. "Took me long enough? What is that supposed to mean? You are here faking to care about our son when you have ignored him and I ever since he was born. Do you think I am going to buy this act? Pretending like you care." She gave a roll of her eyes. "It is so disgusting."

Chris let out a scoffed laugh. Slowly, he rose to his feet, it was when he let go of the sleeping boy's tiny hand that she realized that he had been holding her son's hand.

He turned around to face her. "You think I am pretending to care about my son? You think that I am disgusting??? Do you even have the right to judge anyone right now?"

"What is that supposed to mean?" She arched her brow at him, keeping her hands crossed beneath her breast.

He took another step closer towards her, his figure domineering and causing her to move back.

As much as she wanted to keep her confidence, she could not help but to remember that Chris had hit her before and he would not hesitate to do it again.

Yet she kept her head up while stepping back hesitantly from him.

Chris stopped, knowing well that he had gotten the reaction he wanted. "You call yourself a mother, don't you?" He asked her in a cool voice. "If they ask mothers to come outside, you will be amongst the first to step out am I right?"

"I will be number one!" She responded in a bold voice.

Chris let out a scoff. "Of course you would, on the line of failures who are pretending to be good mothers."

Jessica's eyes widened, she wanted to speak but Chris did not give enough break for her to chime in any word.

He continued. "Your son has been feeling unwell since yesterday but you are not even aware are you? I was about to leave for a business trip when the baby sitter told me that he was not feeling well.

"She said she has been trying to tell you since yesterday but you have not given her any audience. She was so worried because she did not have access to any emergency number so she had to come to me.

"Yet you proudly call yourself a mother when your son could have been badly hurt or worse! Now tell me, where were you all afternoon? What exactly have you been up to?"

Jessica felt so infuriated that he was looking down on her. "I have been doing everything I can to get the deal back on! That's what I have been doing! While I have been trying to reach out to the Armani family and plead on behalf of our family, what have you been doing? Huh?!

"I have been dealing with threats from your mother and father and I have also been dealing with your bullsht! If you think for one minute that it is very easy to live with a man like you then think again!" She barked at his face.

Chris stared at her with an arched brow. "Oh so you think that it is easy staying with you? You are terrible in everything! You are not even half as good as Cara in bed, you are definitely not half as good as a wife as she was.

"You do not measure up to her in any way and my parents don't even like you one single bit. I am very sure that if she has a child, she will take proper care of it than you could ever do."

Jessica felt the words pierce through her heart like a sharp knife to the chest. She had never expected any one's words to have such effect on her but she Chris' words had hurt her so badly.

She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out of it. Tears pricked at her eyes but she refused to let Chris see her at her lowest.

She turned away from him so he would not see her tears. "If you love her so much then why don't you just go back to her?"

He scoffed a laugh. "Like you don't know that I am trying to do that. Very soon, I'll dump you back in the trash where I picked you up from."
