Chapter 93 A Mad Woman
Jessica let out a screech as she threw her pillow off of the bed. Anger caused her blood to boil and all she wanted to do was trash things until she was calm again.
"How dare she look down on me like that?!" She yelled out angrily. "That btch is going to pay for everything she said. Everything!" She picked up another pillow and trashed it against the window.
As angry as she was, she dared not to break anything, especially now that she was walking on eggshells around her own supposed to be family and in-laws.
"When is this suffering going to end? When am I going to have the last laugh already?! I can't take any more of this bullsht!" She spat out angrily.
A knock on the door caused her to stop where she was, the anger in her rose even more. "Who the fck is it?!" She barked out angrily.
"I'm so sorry to disturb you ma'am, it is me, your personal maid." The voice from the other side of the door said in a bit of agitation and fear.
"What the fck do you want? Go away! I don't need you right now so just go away! Whatever report you have to give me can wait. I am not in the mood to listen to anyone or any bullsht from the Knowles family." She threw herself against the bed with a soft "oof".
"Madam... I don't mean to go against your word but... This is actually very important--"
"I said I don't care!" Jessica spat out, cutting her off. "What could be so important? Could it be more important than my life! Get away right now!" She dismissed the maid without care.
Yet the maid remained by the door and went on with her words even though she was very frightened off her mistress. "Madam... I know you are angry, you have been angered from where you are coming from but--" Jessica gave a roll of her eyes it did not cut the lady off this time. "--this is about our youngest master, your son."
Jessica's ears pricked just then. Her son? She humped to her feet and hurried to the door. Pulling it open, she yelled out at the maid's face, her expression contoured with worry and perplexity. "My son?! What happened to my son? Tell me right now!"
The maid was frightened and immediately backed down her head, keeping her gaze down and not daring to look into Jessica's eyes. "Your son, he-- he was not feeling well and you-- you did not check on him before leaving.
"I also was not made aware of when you left so I could not report anything to you. I searched the entire house for you to tell you about his health but you--"
Jessica shrugged the maid out of the way with her shoulders, not caring if the lady would fall or not, and dashed down the hall. Taking the stairs up, she rushed straight to her son's room and pushed open the door.
Although while she ran, the maid was calling out to her but Jessica had paid no attention to the woman calling her name repeatedly and following as quickly as she could behind her.
"Madam! Madam! Madam please wait and listen to me!" The maid yelled out but was met with no response.
Arriving at her son's room, she pushed open the door and froze by the entrance. Met by an empty room, she looked around wearily, wondering where her son was. She had to ask herself for a moment why he was not in his cradled bed.
Turning back to face the maid who had stopped behind her and was trying to catch her breath, Jessica demanded harshly; "where is my son?! Why is he not in his bed? Why is the room empty?!"
The room was indeed empty but full of toys. Where her son had gone was a mystery to her.
The maid was trying to catch her breath but also wanted to reply her boss. "Madam, I tried to tell you, he-- he was not feeling well and I could not find you anywhere when I wanted to report his health to you--"
"I do not care about the boring details!" She gripped the maid by her collar like a mad woman out of control. "Where is my son! That is the only thing I want to know! Answer me right now!" Aggressively, she shook the young lady that was in charge of taking care of her son.
The lady tried to calm her madam but Jessica was not in her proper state of mind and the maid could tell. "He was sick so I called on master Chris Knowles to come and take care of him. He was taken to the hospital a while before you arrived back home." The maid was able to explain through the aggressive shaking.
Jessica froze, she felt like a pail of cold water was poured down her back. Her son had been ill enough that they had to take him to the hospital while she was busy talking with Cara, her old frenemy.
She had to shake herself back to reality. "What hospital? Tell me! No! Take me there! What hospital?"
"The driver can take you there, it is the family's hospital. He will drive you there. Let us go together madam."
Jessica did not wait to listen to her maid properly before dashing down the hall and back down the stairs. All she could hear in her head was a loud pitched ringing, it refused to stop, her senses were disorganized.
Her heart echoed loudly in her ear and she was sure it would burst out of her chest any time soon. She needed to hold her son in her arms, to cradle him and hug him closer to her chest.
All she needed at that moment was to see him and be sure that he was doing well. What a terrible mother she was.
