Chapter 95 Impossible
Cara sat there in front of Romeo, staring at him while thinking in her head. Would he really stay with her forever or would he leave her when he got someone better?
Romeo did not bother to ask again, it was as if he already knew what she was thinking in her head. A smile crept up on his face as he stared at her and he held her hand tightly in his.
"Cara," he called her name so softly. "I actually had the intention of asking you something very important today."
She stared at him with enthusiasm, eager to know what he had to say. But she did not try to interrupt him and she waited for as long as he paused until he was ready to talk.
Romeo let out a soft sigh. He suddenly but gently let go of her hand and rose to his feet. With his back facing her, he started in a gentle tone. "Cara... Ever since the day we met for the very first time," he turned around to look at her now. "I had felt this pull towards you, I have been attracted to you ever since.
"But so much happened, we could not be together, then we parted ways. Meeting again-- I'm sorry that I am saying this but-- the situation I met you in made me kind of happy.
"It felt like there was hope, I could be with the woman of my dreams but only if I seize the chance and do things the right way."
He stopped, a smiling working up to his face. Then he continued. "I made every move I did not get the chance to make before, I took every single step that I fantasized about. But there is one last thing that I have always wanted to do.
"Actually it was two but now I have gotten to do the first one. Well the second one."
Cara had not realized it but a smile had worked its way to her face. "And what is that second one you have achieved?" She questioned him while eagerly waiting for his response.
Romeo smiled. "I have always wanted to do so many things with you but these two the most. First one was to start a family of our own and the second one was to build a family of our own. I don't mind the fact that we skipped to the second one as long as we still get to do the first one."
"I don't..." Cara stared confusedly at him. "What are you...? Are you saying that... That...?"
Romeo went down on one knee right in front of her and took out a small shining black polished ring container. As he opened it, sitting inside was a diamond and silver ring that sparkled like never before.
As small as it was, no one would have ever guessed that it caused a whooping sum of thirty million dollars.
It was original diamond crafted personally for a woman he deemed impossible. Impossible in the sense that she was too good to be real, no one as perfect as she was supposed to exist.
He would have deemed her a mistake but he knew that the Creator makes no mistakes. So that was how he figured out that rather than a mistake, she was a gift from the sky, a heavenly creature that was meant for the softness of the clouds and not the hardness of the earth.
Tears built up in Cara's eyes as she watched the impossible become possible. So she was really going to spend the rest of her life with a man like Romeo Armani? The impossibly handsome, charismatic and rich heir.
It was impossible!
Why were so many impossible things happening that day? Was it a special day or something?
She refused to believe her eyes, Romeo Armani had gone down on one knee for her, to be with her for the rest of his life. Her! He had chosen to spend all eternity with a woman like her?
Why would he even choose to be with someone like her? Someone who had so many life issues and complications.
Yet it was happening. Right there in front of her very own eyes, he was proposing.
"Cara Smith... Will you marry me?"
"No!"
Jessica screamed out loud, anger causing her blood to boil. "Why will you even talk to me like that?! I am your wife for fcks sake! I deserve so much better than what you do to me!"
Blood rushed to her face and it reddened. She wished she could strangle Chris right there that moment and them cut his body into several different pieces while hoping he would be feeling the pain from wherever he was which would probably be in the pit of hell.
She turned around to face him because he had already walked towards the door step. "I need you to give me fifty good reasons you are treating me this way, just fifty! If it is not up to fifty then you must go down on your knees and apologize to me for everything you have ever done to me."
She glared at him with hatred in her eyes. Anger filled every single hole in her body, causing her body to pulse with anger.
Chris stopped and turned around to face her, he opened his mouth to speak but then the crying of their son interrupted him.
Jessica only came to her senses then, remembering that her sick son was in the room at that moment. She had totally forgotten that her son was even sick in the first place.
She rushed to the crying boy and hugged him to her chest. "My baby, I am so sorry, my little prince, I am so sorry. I did not mean to frighten you like that."
She turned around when she heard Chris' gentle voice from behind her.
"This... Is ten reasons enough why you are a terrible wife and mother. I'll tell you the other forty if that's what you really want to hear."
Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked away. His voice might have been gentle, but his words were sharp enough to cut through her heart and soul.
