Chapter 47 Forty seven
Eugene rushed out of the office at that moment. If Liam kept pestering about the meaning, he might finally say it.
He had unintentionally led that lady to buy carnations and give to his boss. A big mistake.
That must be Doreen, the popular secretary of Alexandra. Why didn't he recognize her? She had been the face of Velvet Vixen for a long time before Alexandra revealed herself.
Why is that light so bright? I'm a little bit photophobic. Her words replayed in his head with a slower tone and his lips pressed tight together. Her hand, raising to cover her face from the blinding light and her bright smile.
"Why are you playing that in slow mo?" He suddenly slapped himself back to reality and walked away from the corridor, shaking his head.
"Aarghghhhhhhhhh!!!" The items from the table landed on the floor with a devastating force.
She was enraged. Her lashes blinked uncontrollably, her eyes reddening as she hit the wall many times.
The door opened and someone rushed into her room.
"What is it?!" She shot at the maid.
"Your father is calling you."
"Tell him I'm not in the mood to see him, okay? Get out this instant!"
"Your...brother is back." The maid managed to say and Stella became calm instantly, her eyes widening with an hint of excitement.
"Sam's back?" She asked, and rushed out of the room, her heels hitting the ground repeatedly as she ran down the stairs and he was sitting right there, Sam.
"Why did you come back so late?!" She screamed, her hair scattering against her face and he stood up, walking towards her.
"Your sister has been humiliated so much." She cried out and he smiled, pulling her close to him in a tight hug.
"Now tell me who humiliated you, Stella and I'll make them pay."
"First, Alexandra Chapman. The owner of Velvet Vixen."
"Easy peasy. What exactly do you want to happen to her coincidentally?" He cocked his head and Stella grinned.
"Hello there, my young champions." Cassidy grinned with wide teeth as she Jade and Jace walked towards her at the parking lot.
"I bought ice cream for you guys." She said, seeing their gloomy face.
"Don't tell me your dad didn't treat you well?" She asked immediately and Jade rolled her eyes.
"He took us skating. Even if Jace wouldn't admit it, he loved it. He also laughed a lot when dad played basketball." She said.
"Ooh," Cassidy cleared her throat.
"Your mom also takes you shopping and stuff, doesn't she?"
"There are some things mom can't do that dad will. That's why parents are two, right?"
"What can your mom not do?"
"She can't take us skating and she can't play basketball." Jace said.
"Just that?" Cassidy asked wide-eyed.
"Mom can't fix lights." Jace said calmly and Cassidy focused on him. Out of the blue, he was talking about his mom's electrician skills.
"Our garden light always has an issue. And she can't fix it. She always calls electricians to do that." He added.
"It's their jobs. If your mom can fix all things, then what would be the job of others?" Cassidy asked.
"Dad can do that and others would still have a job." He argued and Cassidy sighed, a deep one.
"Also, Alice insults us for having no dad. They also saw the news on the TV and everyone's mocking us." Jade frowned, her eyes glassy and when a tear was about to escape, she ran into the car, banging the door shut.
"We've been fine without dad all this time, but not anymore, Aunt Cassy. Can't Mommy forgive dad?" He asked and Cassy exhaled.
"Let's just go home. We'll talk to Mommy." She said and Jace nodded, getting into the car.
Stella sashayed into Glamour Holdings, the employees staring at her with surprise. All collaborations with their company had been broken so why was Stella still here.
"I'm sorry but if you don't have an appointment, you can't see him." Eugene said casually.
"Tell him I'm here." She ordered.
"It won't change a thing." Eugene said, "You are no longer the boss's girlfriend, so..." He shrugged and left his words hanging. It's her job to find out what he thought.
"I have a hunch you'll be fired very soon." She smirked and walked directly to Liam's office where he was intently staring at the words written in his phone.
It read: Rejection.
His jaw was tightly clenched, his breathing labored and intensified, his eyes blank as he stared at it, reading it over and over again.
"Were you rejected?" Stella had the face of glee as she took her seat without asking.
"Liam!" She snapped her fingers in front of him and he raised his head to look at her.
"What...are you doing here?" His brows were tightly furrowed.
"Don't hate me. I can see it from the way you look at me." She smirked.
"I warned you, Stella. Whatever happens is for you to find out. Stay away from me." He said and she hit her hand on the table, getting his attention back to her.
"I came here for a reason."
"I don't want to know it."
"Are you in a relationship with her? Alexandra." She asked anyway and Liam sighed.
"What do you want to know?"
"She has your kids. Fine. So take care of your sweet little babies and leave Alexandra alone."
"Is that a threat?" He asked, raising his brow.
"I have a new ammunition, Liam. You wouldn't want to test it. If I can't have you, I'll make sure she also doesn't. It's as clear as that."
"It's not clear, Stella. But you wouldn't know, because your eyes are bad." He said sarcastically and her eyes went up a notch.
"I don't care about whatever support you have but it better not cross paths with me. Because of Alexandra and my kids, I'll do anything."
"Let's see how far you are willing to go for those things you think are dear to you." She smiled, and picked her bag, walking away from his office.
