Chapter 27: I Want You To Choose My Dress

Romano

The more I thought about that night, the more I felt irritated. Anger swirled inside me because I just couldn't take it anymore, I felt that thinking about it made me feel less powerful especially now that I know she is alive. I let out a frustrated growl and connected my fist to the wall, my ankles hurt like a bitch but all the anger that was in me made me forget about it.

Today, I have realized that love isn't what you need in life. I mean, look at me, the girl I loved, the girl who I lived for betrayed me. Now, I am here regretting every fucking second of it. My mind was debating whether Sophie actually ignored me, if she really has moved on. She obviously has and doesn't feel guilty of leaving me that night, she is probably living her life right now with that fiance of hers. My anger boiled and I just lost it all at the thought of her having someone else as her fiance, I knocked down that base that was placed next to the double doors and just weep out tears of anger onto the floor.

I truly loved that girl, I loved her more than myself in fact and I wanted a future with her. I wanted her to be the mouse of my children, I wanted everything with her but she had other plans and she didn't even think to tell me that she was going to leave. Instea, she had to do it in the most fucked up way, she could have at least told me that she didn't love me anymore. She ruined everything, she ruined me completely and that angered me. How dare she do this to me? Sophie, you disappointed me so much to the point where it broke my heart.

From today, my true feelings for her have disappeared, the love I had is all gone. She is nothing to me but my enemy, she made me like this, cruel, evil and heartbreaker. Because of her, I never tried to love again in the past three years. How was I not aware that this was all an act? After all, she is Gabriel's daughter. Sophie betrayed me and I fell for it, she lied through her teeth and I fell for it. She told me she loved me and I also fell for it. I fell for every fucking thing she said and I hated myself for doing that.

“Why!” I screamed through my anger, sweat and my tears rolling down my face as I broke down.

“Why did you do this, Sophie?” I mumbled to myself.

“Why the fuck did you ruin me like this!”

I hate you Sophie Cooper, I fucking hate you and I will accomplish my goal which is to destroy your fucjin father and seek revenge to you from betrayal. You played your part three years ago, Sophie and now, it is my turn. You wait and watch, you are in for a surprise.

Sophie pov

My teeth chatter as I stand in the cold winter snow. It was the festive season where all the joys of excitement gathered and all families got together to celebrate Christmas. But for me, it was nothing but a miserable day to endure. For the past three years, Christmas was nothing to me, it was nothing but to spend the whole day with Nathan. One second he was raging in fuming anger and the next, he will be this loving and caring man that I thought I was capable of falling in with after Romano. But, I was wrong.

This year was different, well it was going to be different. It was going to change my life forever in an awful way. On Christmas day is the day I will marry Nathan and my heart arches as I shut my eyes and shivered in the cold, tears falling out of my eyes as I remember Gabriel has set an exact date for this wedding. My heart broke into a million pieces when I came to think it, I was actually going to get married to the man I despised and I had no choice. I was marrying a monster and a monster is going to claim my life. There were only a few days left before the wedding and right now I am with him in one of the shops, searching for a wedding dress. I recalled this morning that he was going to take me shopping, I have been so uninterested in it. Although, at the time he informed me that he was taking me shopping, I was beyond excited but now, I was really sad and devastated because I was doing something I am not okay with. I can't do this.

The only thing that is really getting me through today is the fact that I was actually allowed to leave the mansion. Nathan was very illiberal and will no way entertain the idea of giving me a time to myself out of the mansion because all that matters to him is control and power. Something Gabriel had influenced him, I really did not see a point in shopping for a wedding dress today because I had no interest at all. I couldn't get it out of my head that I was getting married to him in two days. Someone I have spent time hating and trying to stay away from for the past three years is finally getting married to me and there was nothing that I could do to stop it. Despite all this, I knew very well that there was something terribly wrong with Nathan because I remembered the night he revealed to me that he killed his family with his own hands. I freaked out that night because he begged for forgiveness from me and wouldn't let me go through until I forgave him. It was the most terrifying night of all time. He killed his family but apologies to me like his life depended on me.

“Darling, do you not like this shop?”

I was startled by the voice that reached my ears. I quickly turned around and widened my eyes because he was right behind me. I began to feel panic just flood inside of me, the thought of getting beaten again really petrified me. I was able to keep up a streak of avoiding his anger. It has been exactly two days since he lashed his anger out on me and I would like to keep it like this if we were getting married. I wrapped my arms around my body and felt the warmth of my jacket just give me enough comfort.

“Y..yes..no…I love it.” I said.

“Then, why are you outside?” Irritation was evident in his voice as he glared at me and my heart dropped.

“Nathan,” I unwrapped my arms from my body and held his hands as I was trembling.

“I came out to get fresh air.”

I watched Nathan for a second to notice the boiling anger that he held was coming back and my stomach dropped. I couldn't keep up that stupid streak with him, there was no way. My legs felt like they were about to collapse as my head was spinning. I need a lot of sleep.

“There is nothing for you to wear in this shop, we are going to another one.” He growled.

“There is no need for that Nathan, I can choose from this one.” I began to protest as I tried to walk back into the shop.

However, I stopped when he grabbed my wrist and gripped it firmly in his hands. I flinched when his grip began to inflict pain on my wrists, I looked up at him and my stomach clenched.

“If you don't listen to me, I will do something you will not like.” He growled.

“I said we are going to another shop, do you understand?” I nodded my head before he pulled me closer to him.

“Say something.” He continued to growl.

“I..I was thinking..w..why don't you choose my dress?” I gulped, I had nothing to say and just said what the first thing that came to mind or else he would have humiliated me.

“What?” His face was filled with confusion as he glared at me.

“I want you to choose my dress.” I gulped again.

“Do you really mean that?” He asked in disbelief.

“Sophie, I would love to do that.” He smiled widely and the amount of relief I felt in that moment was unexplainable.

I began to exhale out a breath before a small smile spread across my lips, I just has a every narrow escape from his torture. I nodded my head and watched him before he caressed my face before pulling me in for a kiss. He pulled away with a huge satisfied grin that made me close my eyes and see darkness.
