Chapter 28: Don't You Like The Dress?

Sophie

Nathan grabbed my hand but this time, he was gentle as we walked towards the gr door of the next shop. The drive from the previous shop was about ten minutes and all the way though, he kept telling me what kind of dress he really wanted me in for our wedding.

It has been an hour since we reached the shop and at the moment, I was in the dressing room, trying on a dress he wanted me to. The dress came over my shoulders as I turned to the mirror to look at my reflection in this beautiful dress. A woman was behind me, lacing it and once she was done, my throat closed up.

“You look beautiful.” She complimented me.

I turned my gaze away from the dress and looked at her through the mirror with tears pooling in my eyes. My breath shivered as I watched her give me a huge smile but I couldn't get my head around it. She said I looked beautiful in this dress but in my eyes, I was ugly. Nathan didn't deserve this, he didn't deserve to have the privilege to choose what kind of dress I should be wearing on the wedding day. In fact, he didn't deserve to marry anyone. Yes, the dress was absolutely beautiful but I hated it because he chose it.

“Beautiful?” I mumbled.

“Yes, your fiance is a very lucky man.” She said as she continued to adjust the dress onto my body.

I watched myself crippled apart in front of the mirror, realizing the fact that Nathan was going to be my husband for the rest of my life. If there was a lucky man in my life, it should have been Romano and not him. To add more grief, I am going to give birth to his child. I began to bawl my eyes out, not really paying attention to the fact that the lady was behind me. She held my arms and took me off the mirror because she sat me down. As I looked up, I saw that she had left and Nathan walked in. I shook my head and flinched away from him while I cry even more now than when he was here. I didn't want to feel any more pain, I wanted out.

“Sophie,” his stern voice reached my ears and I flinched again on my seat.

“What happened? Do you not like this dress?” He asked as he got down on his knees and placed his hands on my knees.

I felt like my heart was ripped apart from my body as I think about how this man that I was bawling my eyes out because I disliked the dress. He didn't understand me at all, and never will because he was not a human. I shook my head and continue to cry and he began to grow frustrated. He grabbed my knees and pulled closer to me.

“Stop this fucking nonsense and talk to me, why are you crying?” He growled.

“N..Nathan, there is something I need to tell you.” I faltered and wiped my face, he nodded his head for me to go on.

“I..I am…”

“Boss, we must leave now!”

My stomach dropped as one of his men rushed in and said something that made Nathan immediately stand up on his feet and dismissed me. I closed my eyes and felt my world just crushing down on me, he didn't even hear what I had to say. He stormed out of the room and came back a few seconds later with the same lady that laced the dress. Panic flooded her face while rage filled Nathan's face.

“Get her out of that dress, fast!” He growled and the woman immediately rushed to me and began to take the dress off me.

He grabbed my hand as we practically ran to the car and he pushed me in. I groaned as I was thrown into the car before he joined me.

“What is happening, Nathan?” I asked, he looked over his shoulder and glared at me before he closed his eyes and clenched his jaws.

“Don't worry about anything, Sophie, you are safe here with me.”

I refused to believe anything he ever said to me but today, I was somehow convinced that he was right, he was going to keep me safe from all of this and I was shocked to say the least. It was the emotions in his eyes that showed me he was capable of keeping me safe at the moment. If he didn't, I knew he would have lost me, which he can't bear. There was a heavy commotion outside and I know for sure that if we didn't make it out of that shop, we would have been dead by now. I glanced behind me at the back window of the car and saw that the shop was in pieces. Smoke billowed from the building and my heart dropped. What is happening?

As I turned my gaze away from the building when they began to move, I couldn't get it out of my head that I was carrying this man's child and the heart-wrenching thing about this was that I realized, I can't tell him. There will be no baby if he ever finds out about my pregnancy. The thought of the child raised by him or around him and Gabriel frightened the living hell out of me. It wouldn't have a normal life like the one I want for my own child. I closed my eyes and imagined what would really happen a few years from now if I did take my mother's idea into action. It would be better.

We reached the mansion after a while and he dragged me into the house. He was very angry and I had no idea what the reason was. I almost felt his anger when his thumb pressed really hard into my skin, it began to burn when his nails made contact with my skin. He let go of my wrists and glared at me, his nostrils flared and his fists were rolled into a ball as he paced back and forth. He let out a very frustrated growl that made me quiver in silence, I didn't know what to do at this moment. All this soon escalated when he grabbed the nearest thing he could get and threw it across the room, it shattered into million pieces and caused a huge commotion. I flinched and covered my ears as the sound of the impact was so loud.

“Jude!” He roared.

I watched him as my face dropped, he glared at me before he looked away and began to yell again. One of his men came running into the living room with a gun in his hand as he was cautious.

“Clean this damm thing up and take her to the fucking room or her mother's!”

“Yes, boss.” He replied.

He headed upstairs towards Gabriel's room in rage and anger, the surroundings were quiet and peaceful as he left. Jude urged me to start walking and I did but I didn't walk towards my room.

“I would love to go to my mother's room.” I said why I was hoping he would really let me.

“Please.” I pleaded when he began to shake his head.

“Fine, go but if you try to escape, I will fucking gut you.” I nodded my head at him continuously and then started walking towards my mother's room.

I glanced over my shoulder to see if he was watching me but surprisingly enough he wasn't. He just turned around and walked off in the opposite direction, I gulped away the tension and proceeded to walk to mother's until I heard yelling from one of the rooms on the right. The room was just across my mother's and I noticed that the door was opened ajar enough for me to peek through and see it was Gabriel having a heated conversation with Nathan. It was clear that they were troubled because their faces said it all, Gabriel was really pissed and Nathan was agitated.

“What the fúck did you just say?” Gabriel roared.

The tone of his voice really started me to my core. I carefully looked through the opening, making sure I didn't make a sound and watched the two standing in the center of the room. Gabriel had his hand on his temple as he growled inwardly at Nathan who was pacing the room back and forth. Something had happened and it was really bad. To be honest, I would be lying if I said Nathan seemed calm and collected about the situation that occurred at the shop, because right now, he seemed agitated, bothered and scared. It was hard to believe it because nothing scared him and if anything did get in his way, he would just kill it. They both were bothered about this and I really couldn't figure out what was happening.
