Chapter 25: I Am Going To Get You Out Of Here

Sophie

“Dear, we have only five days till the wedding. We can surely think of something.”  My mother said as I was lost in my own thoughts.

“Mother, stop, it is too risky and I don't want to risk our lives. You know what Gabriel is capable of.” I pulled away from her and looked at her.

“We can't,” I refused with a shake of my head once again and will refuse over and over again. I can't risk it.

“What about, Romano?” She interjected.

“What about him? He is dead.” I replied.

“Sweetheart, you don't know that.” She leaned into my ear, my head lifted up from her lap and I stared at her. There was hope drawn all over her face, she still believes Romano is alive.

“What do you mean?” I was as confused as ever.

“I mean that, you don't know if Romano is actually dead.”

“What is your point, mother?” I signed.

“I was there when he was shot and I waited for him to get up but he didn't.” I explained, I remembered that day like it was yesterday. There was no way he would be alive, not after what I saw that say.

“Did you check his vitals signs?” She suddenly asked.

“No,” I whispered, realizing her point.

“Mother, I didn't check his pulse, I.. I didn't thin..”

“Sophie, the reason your father is moving the wedding forward so soon is because he suspects that Romano is alive.” She confessed and instantly my jaw dropped.

“What!” My eyes widened at her.

“W..why?”

“I don't know, dear but I heard him talk to Nathan about it.” She replied and I watched her, it all began to make sense.

I knew she had a strong feeling that Romano is alive, however, I still don't know what to think. I know it was very stupid of me not to check his pulse that night but then, a part of me believes that he is dead because if he wasn't, he would have come searching for me and taken me out of this hell years ago.

“Mother..” I mumbled.

“I don't know…”

“I am going to get out of here.”

“No, mother, we are not doing that. I can't.” I replied, there was no chance of leaving now.

“Why not, dear? You still have time.” She argued as she tried to persuade me again.

“Mother, I can't because I think I am pregnant.” I mumbled.

My chin was leaning heavily on my knees as I pulled them towards my chest, my heart hammered against my chest as I rocked back and forth in anticipation, staring at the floor and contemplating on how to deal with this. In the next minute or so would be life-changing and I was certainly not ready for it. If I did turn out to be pregnant, it is going to be by far the most difficult thing for me to cope with and if it was being completely honest, I don't think I was ready physically and mentally. I don't know if I am pregnant but I have my suspicions because I always had the desire to throw up. She suggested that I should take a pregnancy test right away to be sure so now I am here waiting for the results.

“Sophie!” She gasped through the silence and I was startled at the tone of her voice.

“It is positive, you are pregnant.”

My mind has fallen victim to blank as I watched her in a state of shock and horror. My heart dropped as soon as she announced and instantly, my thoughts were filled with a lot of questions. I really couldn't take anymore of this so I broke down. Tears stream down my face as I thought and the future of this baby because I know for a fact that Nathan will be around to ruin everything. The only way this child will get to live is if it isn't around Nathan. I thought about Romano which made my heart clenched ten times harder. I should be having his child, not this monster.  I want a child with Romano, if only he was here today and this was his child, he would be so happy. I cried until I had nothing left because my thoughts were filled with Romano.

“Don't cry, sweetheart, we can solve this.” She said as she embraced me in a warm embrace.

“You don't have to keep the child, you will get an abortion.” She suggested and my eyes widened.

“No, mother, never..I can't abort this child.” I refused.

“This child hasn't done anything so it deserves to live. If anyone then, it should be Nathan who is at fault.”

I trembled on the floor as I reminisced about all the lives that have been cut because of Nathan and now, to even consider her suggestions was not an option. Why should this child's life be snatched away because of him?

“Dear, you are not thinking well, what about Romano?”

Romano was long gone and I can't do anything about it, I just have to accept the fact that he is indeed dead. He was the past and will remain the past.

“I don't know, mother. I seriously don't know.” I whimpered as I shed many tears in her embrace for the rest of the night.

Romano Pov

Gabriel was proficient, he was a very difficult man to catch and I don't like it. I really disliked that, it frustrated the fuck out of me. However, I was not going to give up because I want him to repent for everything he has done and caused. I want him to suffer just like she did. I feel a wave of cold breeze that summoned chills just rush past my body as I began to reminisce that night. What I saw was something that scared me and I was never going to forget that night. In order to do that, we have to work this out first. I need to figure out how to approach him and then we can get into the nation because I don't want to reach too fast. If I do the, Gabriel might do the same which can get us fucked. Although I really don't give a fuck about dealing with his little bitches paying a visit to me to actually kill me, I prefer to avoid that situation at all times because it just piles on the work and effort that I have to do which is cleaning up after I slit their fucking weak throats.

Right now, Kelvin and I are placing anonymous tabs on Gabriel to see what he does in his day and where he visits so we have an idea of when and how to strike.

“Romano, we have got news.” Caleb announced as he entered my office. Both mine and Kelvin's gazes turned to the door where he stood and gave me a look of determination. We were working on ass for so many days now, we really needed this motherfucker to die.

“What is it?” Kelvin asked as he rested back on his chair.

“I found something that would give us the fucking trophy.” He slammed the papers on the table and glared at me.

“What?”

“Well, I found out exactly when Gabriel is residing and it is not in Dubai. However, he had a land there that is kept for him to stay whenever he visits. It was the same property you visited years ago with Benjamin.” He said.

“You know the one I picked you up from.” I nodded my head as I looked at him, remembering that night so clearly. It was the night I first met her, the night that was etched into my head.

“Gabriel Cooper clearly needs to up his game because he does not know how to manage anything.” Kelvin sniggered.

“How could you be so careless to reveal your location like this? Man, this guy is one stupid dickface.” I nodded my head agreeing to Caleb who began to flip through the files that he bought.

“Look, these are pictures of his mansion here in Dubai. The one here has been refurbished with the money he stole and the mansion is located in a stranded area, the isolated areas of the country.” He pointed at one of the papers.

I scanned my eyes over it and noticed nothing unusual of this mansion. Sure, it was huge but it was not normal to see a house in stranded areas like this. He pulled out a few more pictures and placed them in front of me.

“This is Gabriel, who tried to kill you years ago.” He pointed and I nodded my head as I clench my jaws. I know how he exactly looked like and I was not going to forget because he had been on my fucking mind for years. I was going to fucking kill him soon.
