Chapter 115

Tanakorn’s POV

There was no way he was talking about my Krit. That’s not true at all.

I refused to believe it. Krit loved just me and no one else. My chest felt so tight I could barely breathe, a heavy weight crushing down on my lungs. I mean, he came through for me. He helped me so many times when I had nobody else. So why would he use me as a tool?

Maybe he used to have an ex, right? An ex that couldn’t move on. But on second thought, he never told me anything about his past relationships. He kept that part of his life completely locked away from me.

I needed to look for Krit. All these questions screaming in my head were making me insane. I just needed answers to cool off before my brain completely broke down. I needed the right answer to tell Tang's lover that he was wrong...

I hurried back to the school building, but the air suddenly felt suffocatingly different.

All eyes were on me. The looks in their eyes—cold, mocking, full of pity—didn't sit well with me at all. It gave me the chills, a cold sweat breaking out across my skin. I could see their mouths moving, whispering behind their hands, and it was obvious my name was on everyone's lips. My stomach twisted into a painful knot. Did something happen?

“There you are.” Arnold rushed to me, his face pale and looking deeply worried.

“Is something happening?” I asked him, my voice trembling even though fear already grabbed me tightly by the throat, cutting off my air.

“Come with me before it gets worse,” Arnold said. But I was totally confused. What did he mean? Worse how?

“How? Talk to me, Arnold. Did something happen?” I held his hands firmly, my fingers shaking violently against his skin. “Please say something to me.”

“Where do I start? I’m so worried about you, Tanakorn. You are like a brother to me, and I wish to protect you now. Just come with me already,” he insisted. Around us, the whispers were becoming loud, ringing in my ears like static.

“Just tell me... Start from somewhere,” I begged of him, my voice cracking.

“Your mom...” He paused, struggling to say another word, avoiding my eyes.

“What happened to my mother? Talk to me already!”

“She got arrested...”

“HUH? Why would my mother be arrested? She is not a criminal.” The room tilted slightly. I frantically searched for my phone, my hands completely numb.

“The actress your dad was having an affair with was pregnant for your father, and your mom killed the baby. The horrible video is trending online right now...”

Arnold passed me his phone. On the screen, my mom was shouting at a beautiful actress known as Phiyada Chaisuwan, who looked heavily pregnant.

“Please, for the sake of my baby,” tears were rolling from her eyes in the video, but my mother just landed a resounding slap across her face.

“Shut up, you bitch! You think because you seduced my husband you can be part of the family? I will never let that happen... I will rip out that bastard from your womb.”

“Don’t hurt my unborn baby, please. It’s not my fault your husband fell in love with me... You don’t deserve him.” My mom grabbed her by the hair. “My husband is mine alone.” She struggled with my mom, and on purpose, my mom violently pushed her down the staircase.

My breath caught in my throat. Turns out my mom is not just heartless to me... She is a monster. A literal monster. On the screen, the woman started bleeding, begging for medical attention, but my mom just stood there and refused.

I handed the phone back to him, intense shame taking over me so heavily I couldn't even look at Arnold. My own mother did that. Now I understood why everyone gazed at me that way, like I was contagious.

“The actress turns out to be Krittanai’s uncle's new wife,” he added.

I slowed down. My heart stopped beating for a second.

Krittanai again? Why is everyone mentioning his name? Why is he tied to this nightmare?

“That’s not true... Krit is not connected to the rich, and his uncle is at the hospital as we speak... I need to leave... this is not good.” My head was spinning violently. A lot of things were happening to me all at once and I didn't know how to focus, my mind shattering into pieces.

“You can’t leave through this way... The press is already at the school gate, and this is not good for you because your mom being arrested is not the only thing on the news now... It’s you, Tanakorn.”

“What do you mean?”

Unexpectedly, Natee poured dirty water straight onto my body, the freezing, foul liquid soaking through my clothes, followed by loud curses.

“You bastard! You claim to be the perfect captain who doesn’t break the rules... you asshole, I can’t believe you have been secretly dating Krittanai! No wonder you wouldn’t let us be together!” he yelled fiercely.

Arnold grabbed him, trying to hold him back. “I’m so sorry, he is overreacting, but you have to leave the school building right now!”

“Drop me, you idiot!” Natee screamed.

The entire world collapsed on my shoulders immediately.

I looked up my own phone. Our secret moments, captured clearly in pictures, were flying all over the internet. My father was being dragged brutally in the comments for raising a disappointment like me... “He is an asshole, his late brother would never do such.” “He should have been the one dead.”

The words burned through my eyes. Tears gathered in my eyes, thick and heavy, but I forced them not to drop. I couldn't let them see me break.

“There he is, the son of a murderer and a rule-breaker.”

“His life is over, I heard he drove his brother to his death too.”

The world kept spinning while I took a few unstable steps, trying to see how I could walk away from this living nightmare happening to me.

I used the wall to support my shaking body, my heart racing dangerously fast. I heard the chaos of the crowd, and it was coming right for me. Panicking, I took another route, ducking away until I suddenly heard a familiar voice coming from an empty classroom, accompanied by that familiar cigar smell... KRITTANAI.

“He should have known better than to double-cross me, even if he is my uncle. The videos and pictures I have of Tanakorn, he let them out, so I let out the clip. Now he knows you once dated and fucked Somchai Srisuwan.”

I froze solid. My hand stopped right on the doorframe.

“Heartless you say, Phiyada? I don’t care if his mom ends up in prison, she deserves it and he will be happy about it. You should be worried more about Uncle. Do you think he can tolerate a liar and a bitch like you?” He said it all while laughing like a total psycho.

Then I heard the female voice screaming frantically from his phone, “Krittanai, you psychopath... you are no human at all! I will make sure I tell that little playtoy of yours, Tanakorn, that you were the one who raped him!”

“Then be my guest.”

“What? You are the devil himself...”

He ended the call bluntly. “Too noisy,” he muttered to himself, puffing out a cloud of gray smoke.

My entire body went completely paralyzed. The betrayal hit me so hard it felt like a physical strike to the chest. The person I trusted most. The one who held me. It was all a lie. Tears finally streamed down my eyes, hot and unstoppable.

“It was you.”

He suddenly turned around, and his glasses weren’t on. His eyes looked completely different. “How much did you hear, love? And what happened to you? Did someone splash water on you? Who?”

My heart was tearing completely apart into bloody pieces. Damn his fake care… I lunged forward, gripping his clothes tight in my fists, shaking him. “It has always been you... you raped me... why?!” I screamed, the tears blinding my eyes, but he remained completely unshaken, staring down at me.

“Because I wanted you...”
