Chapter 116

Tanakorn’s POV

“Because I wanted you…”

The words left his mouth so casually, so effortlessly, that for a fraction of a second, my brain refused to process them. Then, the realization slammed into me like a high-speed train.

A sharp, hysterical shriek tore from my throat—a sound so raw it didn't even feel like mine. Before he could even blink, I threw my weight forward, bringing my fist down hard across his face.

The force of the blow rattled my own knuckles, but I didn't care. I lunged at him again, my vision completely blurred by thick, scalding tears. “You bastard!” I screamed, hitting him again, my fists raining down on his chest, his shoulders, anywhere I could strike. “All this time you have been manipulating me! You made me believe Warut hurt me!You ruined everything! You completely destroyed me!”

I hit him hard on the face again, the skin of my palm burning. My breath came in ragged, agonizing gasps as the physical pain in my chest threatened to split me wide open. “And all this time... I thought you loved me for real! Why? Why did you heal me when you knew you would just break me again?!”

Krit didn't flinch. He didn't even try to block my hands. He stood there like a solid stone wall, letting me strike him over and over, his face entirely unreadable. The absolute lack of remorse in his cold eyes made the agony tenfold.

“You made me look like a complete fool!” I sobbed, my voice cracking, choking on my own tears. “You gave me hope the night I was raped... but it was you. What did I ever do wrong to you, Krittanai?! Why did you make me your prey? All this love... it was all fake, right?!”

The puzzle pieces in my mind violently snapped together. “Your real lover is Pavel, right?! You used him to tame Tang!”

At the mention of Pavel's name, the slight twitch in Krit's jaw told me everything. He knew him. It was all a coordinated, disgusting script. My heart wasn't just broken; it was ground into dust. “What are you...?” I whispered, staring at the monster in front of me, my arms finally dropping out of sheer exhaustion. “Are you a devil??”

His eyes suddenly changed, darkening into something predatory and sinister.

Reeling backward, my shaking fingers flew to the necklace around my neck—the one he had given me, the one I had cherished like a lifeline. I yanked it off with enough force to snap the chain, screaming as I hurled it violently against the concrete floor.

The silver pendant shattered on impact, but as the pieces scattered, something else caught my eye. A tiny, metallic glint. A microscopic red light gave a faint, rhythmic beep from the broken fragment.

A tracking device.

My breath completely vanished. “A tracker...?” I looked from the broken device up to his face, horror chilling my blood. “What was your motive? My family? Everything that's happening right now... you planned it all?!”

The disgust inside me turned into a burning, suffocating wall. I couldn't look at him for another second. “I never want to see you again. I will delete you from my memory completely!”

Gathering the very last bit of my strength, I shoved his chest hard to clear a path to the door. But the moment my palms left his clothes, Krit’s hands shot out like steel handcuffs.

He gripped my wrists, twisting my body around with terrifying ease, and slammed me hard against the classroom wall. The impact knocked the air right out of my lungs. Before I could even draw a breath to scream, he forced his mouth down onto mine.

I struggled wildly, twisting my head, trying to bite him, trying to tear myself away from the suffocating taste of his cigar smoke, but he was too strong. With a brutal wrench, he pinned both of my hands firmly behind my back with just one of his, locking me in place against the cold concrete.

He pulled back just an inch, his dark eyes staring directly into my panicking ones.

“You can't break up with me, Tanakorn... You are my light, you can’t take it away from me,” he whispered, his voice terrifyingly calm, his thumb tracing my jawline roughly. “I own you already, little master.”

“Let me go! Let me go, you psychopath!” I yelled, thrashing against his grip, but it was useless.

Ignoring my cries, he buried his face into the crook of my neck, forcefully kissing and biting at my skin. I opened my mouth to scream for Arnold, to scream for anyone, but out of the blue, a sharp, heavy blow struck the back of my neck.

My limbs instantly went entirely limp. The agonizing pain in my chest all faded away instantly as darkness swallowed me whole and a tear left my eyes.

I forced my eyes open, the pounding in my head making my vision blur. I tried to lift my hands to rub my temples, but a sharp, metallic clink stopped me. I jerked my arm. The cold steel of a handcuff was wrapped tightly around my left wrist, chaining me securely to the bedframe.

That bastard. Panic and rage spiked through my veins, and I began to struggle wildly, thrashing against the bed.

The door suddenly swung open. I flinched, expecting to see the devil himself, but it was Arnold.

“Tanakorn!” he gasped, rushing to the side of the bed. “I followed Krittanai because I suspected he would harm you... especially after I heard the rumor that he killed his mom. Let's get you out of here right now.”

Arnold pulled a key from his pocket and quickly uncuffed me. I had a lot of questions to ask him but now is not the right time, we need to get out of here and I’m glad he came for me.

My wrist was red, but there was no time to care. We moved fast, slipping through the dark ways of the building. To my surprise, all the guards were completely fast asleep. We made it to the parking lot and scrambled into Arnold's car, the tires screeching as we tore away into the night.

“That guy is a demon,” Arnold said, his knuckles white on the steering wheel as he checked the rearview mirror. “You are not safe at all right now. Where do you think you can go without him finding out?”

I racked my brain, my thoughts spinning in a frantic circle until a single name popped up. Jimmy. Krit didn't know much about him except knowing him as one of the people who is crushing on me. Arnold quickly dialed Jimmy, who picked up and immediately sent over his address. He cleared the record of the call and text all because of Krit. Now I’m scared, will he hurt my friends?

To throw off any potential tail, Arnold stopped the car a few blocks away. “You take a taxi from here,” he instructed, giving my shoulder a firm squeeze. “I'll keep driving the car just in case Krittanai is tracing the plates.”

“Stay safe and let’s meet when this is over.”

“Sure and also avoid the crowd for now, the internet is still buzzing.”

“I understand.” I hugged him before taking my leave. I notice he dropped me at a blind spot that has no cctv.

Minutes later, I was standing outside Jimmy's apartment. The moment he opened the door and saw my disheveled, bruised state, he pulled me into a tight, protective hug.

“I saw the video,” Jimmy whispered softly, rubbing my back. “It's going to pass, Tanakorn. Trust me, you can do this. You just had a secret relationship and that’s all, soon they will understand.” Looking into his sympathetic eyes, it was completely obvious that Jimmy had no idea about the devil I was running from.

“Thank you Jimmy, can I remain hidden in your place without anyone finding out? A lot has happened and I need to stay away from everyone.”

“Sure, I got you, let’s get you changed.” I nodded my head with a brief smile.

A few moments later, I was left alone in Jimmy's bedroom. I had told him I needed to be alone. I couldn’t find the appetite to eat, and my phone was not with me. The silence was deafening, and the dam finally broke. I buried my face in my hands, crying my eyes out as memories of Krittanai flooded my mind like a cruel slide show. I remembered all the good times—how he stood by me, how he helped me when I was at my lowest. I thought about the promise ring he gave me, the gentle way he used to make love to me... it was all a lie. I felt like I was going to die at this rate. The terrifying reality that he had literally knocked me out and abducted me set in, and a suffocating fear gripped me. The memory of the rape and every single manipulation played on a loop in my head.

Desperate for a distraction, I wiped my tears and paced the room until my eyes caught something familiar draped over a chair. I walked closer, my breath catching in my throat. Is that... Neo's sweater? The exact sweater I had gifted my late brother, the one he claimed he had accidentally left at his friend’s home.

My heart began to hammer dangerously against my ribs. Trembling, I stepped over to Jimmy's nightstand and yanked the drawer open.

My eyes widened in sheer horror. Right there, lying on top of the papers, were a lot of photographs of Jimmy and Neo together, smiling happily..kissing…hugging.

Fresh tears spilled over my eyelids, burning my cheeks. Even Jimmy. Even Jimmy too. Everyone I loved was a lie.

Is that the reason he felt so close?

It all makes sense now.. every thing he has been telling me. I must have looked like a fool to him all these while.

The bedroom door clicked open, and Jimmy walked in, his face instantly twisting into pure worry when he saw the open drawer and the photos in my hand. “Tanakorn... I can explain.”

“Why…” My voice was a broken, strangled whisper. “Why is the most trusted person I own dear deceiving me? You knew my late brother... and you pretended, never saying a single word?!”

“I can explain, please—”

“Fuck it,” I choked out, the betrayal suffocating the very air in my lungs. “Fuck humanity.”

Suddenly, a blinding, crushing pain flared right in the center of my chest. It felt like a literal heart attack, the pressure so intense that the room tilted violently. I gasped for air, my knees buckling as I collapsed onto the floor.

“Tanakorn!” Jimmy screamed, rushing forward and catching me before I hit the hardwood. He pulled me against his chest, his voice panicked. “Stay with me! Tanakorn, look at me!”

My vision began to tunnel, turning pitch-black around the edges. I looked up through the haze, and for a split second, the air shifted. Right behind Jimmy, I saw Neo. My late brother was standing there in the shadows, just looking at me with a soft, sad expression, then the blood started dripping all over his body.

I looked back at Jimmy, using the absolute last ounce of my fading strength to speak my final words.

“You all... broke me again.”

The darkness rushed in, heavy and absolute, swallowing me whole.

Extract from book 2

“Where is Tanakorn?”

Krittanai’s voice was deadly quiet as he stood over Arnold. Arnold was slumped on the concrete floor, his face already covered in dark, painful bruises, gasping for air.

Krittanai stepped closer, his eyes void of any humanity. “Where did you take my light to? Now darkness lingers..”

Arnold spat a mouthful of blood onto the floor, looking up at the monster standing before him. “Krittanai... what happened to you? This is not you. Do you even feel the pain Tanakorn is going through right now? You completely ruined his life!”

“Don’t meddle in my relationship,” Krittanai snapped, his expression darkening into pure malice. “And since you took away my light from me, I will take hockey from you.”

Arnold’s eyes widened in sheer terror. “What... what do you mean?”

Krittanai didn't answer with words. He simply stretched out his hand. Right on cue, one of his men stepped forward from the shadows and placed a heavy, solid hockey stick firmly into his palm.

Krittanai gripped the handle, a cold, psychotic smile creeping onto his face as he looked down at Arnold's trembling knees. “I will break your legs so you don’t ever play hockey again.”

“Please... no! Please don't!” Arnold begged, scrambling backward on his hands.

But Krittanai swung the stick down with full force, and Arnold's horrific scream instantly cut through the air.
