Chapter 156: Sandy? Are You Okay?
Once again, we fell into our normal routine with the boys. The female leaders of the Red River pack were putting the final touches on the Bar-B-Q that was going to be held at the end of the week when a massive migraine hit me. I was in the office when I could barely hold my head up let alone stand up.
'Sandy, what's wrong? Are you okay? Are the babies okay?' James shouted in our family link.
'Sandy, are you hurt? What's wrong? I'm on my way home,' declared Davidson in our link.
'I have a massive migraine. I'm in the office. It hurts to move. I need help,' I weakly pleaded to them both.
'I'm on my way now. I'm sending Mom and Dad over to help you until we get home. Don't move around or do anything. Okay?' announced James hastily.
'He's right. Mom and Dad are coming to help with the girls and boys as well. We need to make sure you're taken care of. Be careful until we get home. Love you," uttered Davidson quickly.
'I'm not going anywhere any time soon,' I explained as I tilted my head back against the back of my chair.
Soon both sets of parents converged on the office to check on me. Ms. Phelps said she had the girls taken care of so they could focus on me.
I don't remember much after they entered the room. I guess I fell asleep because the next thing I remembered was waking up in a hospital room.
"Why am I in a hospital room? What happened?" I asked totally confused to everyone in the room.
"Hey, you're finally awake. How are you feeling?" inquired an anxious James as he caressed my cheek after he softly kissed me.
"My love, how do you feel? Can I get you anything?" inquired a very anxious Davidson as he held my hand.
"Hey, I'm not sure how I feel. I'm groggy. What happened to me?" I softly asked them.
"Well, when our parents got there, they found you unconscious in your desk chair. Dad didn't hesitate to pick you up and bring you to the pack hospital. Since we already knew that you had a migraine, they began treatment for that. Also, they checked on the babies," Davidson began explaining with a heavy sigh.
"Okay, how are the babies?" I asked. It was then that I noticed that I didn't have my baby bump anymore. "What happened to the babies? Did I have to have a C-Section?"
"The babies were in distress. So, yes they had to perform an emergency C-Section. Our babies, Brianna Elise Bishop and Joshua Scott Murphy are being taken care of by our parents. We were so worried about you," explained Davidson as he continued to caress my cheek.
"But … they're okay … now? Right?" I pleaded as my voice was barely above a whisper. Tears started to form as I became worried for my babies.
"Yes, my love. They're doing fine now. We are more worried about you. You were out for two days. We've been so …" James tried to explain but couldn't speak as his tears overtook him.
"Hey, it's all right MY Sugar Bear. I'm right here. I'm feeling better, groggy but better. Please don't cry. Come here so I can hold you," I cooed with my arms open for him to enter. "I'm sorry if I scared you. It wasn't my intention to do so. Honest. Do you forgive me?"
"We forgive you. We were just so worried about you. You scared us. I'm glad you are awake and are feeling better. We just need to get you out of here and back home. Then, I think we'll be happy," Davidson cooed as he slid into bed next to me and wrapped his arm around my waist.
Before we could do anything else, Doctors Stine, Marsh, and Waters walked into the room followed by Michael, Tim, Patrick, and Avery.
"She's finally awake! It's about time!" bellowed Timothy as he came closer to the bed.
"Shut up Tim. It's not like she planned on this happening. Leave her alone! She just woke up. Let her get herself caught back up again so back off," growled Patrick to Timothy. "I'm glad you're doing better sis."
"Luna Sandra, how are you feeling at the moment? Does your head hurt? What is your current pain level?" inquired Dr. Marsh.
"I'm feeling a lot better. My head doesn't really hurt anymore-I would say it's a number 2 on the pain scale. I'm just a little groggy still otherwise I feel okay. How long will I need to be here? Are my babies here as well?" I asked them while everyone looked at me.
"Yes, your babies are still here. We wanted to keep an eye on them since they were both under five pounds at birth. They are doing just fine. We need to get a blood draw from you to see where your numbers are and examine you. Then we can determine if you can go home with your newborn babies," explained Dr. Waters with the other doctors shaking their heads yes in agreement.
"Okay, just tell me what you want me to do and I'll do it," I announced to no one in particular. I just wanted to get everything done so I could meet my babies.
It was decided that I could go home because my headache was practically nonexistent. After I got dressed I was introduced to Brianna and Joshua. I was told that Greyson and Owen had already met their new siblings. Of course, Jackie and Cassie might be a little too young, but we will introduce them when we get home.
We left the pack hospital and went home. The proud grandparents took the newborn babies home for us. We followed close behind anxious to see how Jackie and Cassie react to the new babies. When they present the girls with the babies, the girls became enthralled with them. Jackie and Cassie laughed and giggled as they touched them with Greyson and Owen's help.
Since my brothers were here, we had a family dinner before they left to return to their territories. I love having my brothers around me. I wish they could stay longer, but it's not like they are hundreds of miles away. They are close enough by that they can come if they are needed.
As our lives continue to change so does pack life. The birth of our newborns was announced to both of the packs. Red River Pack got another alpha female heir and Rock Canyon got another alpha male heir. All-in-all, it seems that both packs were happy with the news of the births.
We are finally able to relax for a change and breathe. We are preparing for the Bar-B-Q that the Red River Pack was hosting this weekend. I was told I was allowed to attend, but not allowed to do anything. All I could do was sit there with our children (newborns) and greet everyone. I wasn't allowed to walk around or assist with anything due to just delivering my babies.
Wow! Talk about being overprotective. Geez. The Bar-B-Q was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed the informal gathering and being introduced to the new alpha heirs. Davidson set up the Pack and Play so the girls could play while James set up a Bassinet for the newborns.
All who came had a good time. By the time we left to go home, we had some very tired boys and girls on our hands. We were tired as well, but we still cuddled after I fed our newborns.
After our busy weekend, I couldn't wait to get back into our normal routines. I was still ordered to take it easy, so I did. I continued to have a scaled-back presence at the Red River pack. Having four children under the age of two is no easy feat. Taking care of newborns and one-year-olds is not easy. I am definitely relying on Ms. Phelps and Ms. Michaels more than I was before. One thing is for sure, I am enjoying my time with my babies.
