Chapter 155: One Week Later
Elder Graham held true to his word. He hauled each and every pack member on the list into James' office, questioned--- er interrogated them, and then handed down their punishment. I was amazed at how efficient he was in the way he and Elder Terrance handled the matter.
Elder Terrance had me take a walk with him around the town square with the girls in the stroller. We talked about the upcoming Bar-B-Q we were having for the Red River pack two weeks from now. Elder Terrance was able to hear comments that were directed toward me and the girls. The comments were mostly positive, but a few were negative.
Elders Graham and Terrance in the end had banished fourteen pack members as Rogues. Only four pack members were allowed to stay after seeing the error of their ways and seeking forgiveness like Janice.
Before they left, Elder Graham called for a Mandatory Pack Meeting so he could discuss the results of the punishments.
Mandatory Pack Meeting
"Good Evening Rock Canyon Pack. As you know I have been dealing with the pack members who have caused discord among the pack. They were primarily responsible for the pack receiving the status of Probation from the Council.
This pack will remain on probation for a minimum of 6 months. We will reevaluate the status of Rock Canyon after that time. I am hopeful that by getting rid of the bad influences this pack can once again flourish. This pack was a shining example of how to build each other up, protect each other, and defend each other no matter what.
Over the past seven years, it has been torn down piece by piece. It was caused by one person in the pack-Orson Peppermill. He caused this to happen. The backlash against his family should not have happened. Nor should pack members have blamed Luna Sandra for anything since she was the biggest victim of all.
As I stated with all those accused this past week-I asked them, 'How would you have felt if you were Luna Sandra and all this happened to you? How would you like it if people blamed you for everything that happened and you didn't cause any of it?' Luna Sandra still carries around a tremendous amount of guilt for those who died protecting her. Even though we have told her, her brothers have told her, and her mates have told her that it was not her fault that they died but it was her grandfather's fault for making the mate contract in the first place. She still sees it as if they died protecting her. That's why she carries around the guilt.
Those who could not see the error of their ways will receive one week in the cells, 15 lashes, and banishment from the pack as a Rogue. Fourteen pack members fell into that category.
Murmurs and gasps were heard as he stated that.
Those who saw the error of their ways will receive one week in the cells and 15 lashes. They will not be banished. They are on probation with the pack. If they disrespect pack leadership, then they will be banished. Four pack members fell into this category.
Red River Pack is already seeing how amazing Luna Sandra is as their Luna. I don't know if this pack will ever see her as their Luna. The attitude and climate of this pack must change as well. You need to get back to uplifting each other, protecting each other, and defending each other without a second thought.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Alpha James or Beta Rafferty. You are dismissed."
Wow! Elder Graham laid it out for everyone. Now Rock Canyon knows what happened and why it happened. I truly hope they understand that the Council wants them to return to their prior glory.
