Chapter 31

Chapter 31

Brianna's pov

I was in the hospital with Aunt Martha, she was  gradually recovering , I was beside her sipping tea. She managed to turn her head and ask .

"Brianna, have you heard anything about Logan" she inquired, her voice shaking.

I paused, uncertain of how to respond. I preferred not to mention the altercation at the casino, nor the chance that Logan's vanishing could be connected to it. I didn't want to stress her out more than she already was.

I didn't want aunt Martha to worry or develop another panic attack because of that.
" The police have found a clue of his location , I'm sure they would find him in no time " I replied her confidently.

Aunt Martha's countenance brightened immediately
" Oh, thank heavens, I was so worried " she said

I  felt quite guilty about what I told aunt Martha, however , it's for the best , at this point we have to do everything to protect her health wise.

I remained with aunt Martha , discussing with her and keeping her company .Yet as I remained seated, I couldn't dispel the sense that I was concealing something from her.

Upon exiting the hospital, I found myself pondering on Logan's disappearance. If he engaged in a brawl at the casino, then his vanishing might be connected to that. If this was true , then my father might not be guilty of whatever happened to him.

But why was my father not present, though I hadn't told him any thing and he didn't ask me anything either . But I Feel like he was aware but isn't saying anything.

I was resolute in uncovering the truth, to discover what truly occurred with Logan. I was prepared to do anything necessary to ensure his safety.

While I was returning to my car, I spotted a sheet of paper on the windshield. I approached to take a look and discovered that it was a note.

"Join me at the abandoned warehouse at 5 o'clock," the message stated. "Arrive by yourself."

I experienced a chill race down my spine. Who might have composed this note? And what were they seeking from me?

I scanned the area, but no one was visible. I found myself by myself.

I tucked the note away and placed it in my pocket. I would attend the meeting, and I would learn what was happening.

However, I wouldn't go by myself.

He picked up on time and I told him about the mysterious note that I found.

"Uncle Michael, I have something to tell you," I said, attempting to maintain my composure. "I recently discovered a note on the windshield of my car." It mentions to rendezvous with someone at the old storage building at 5pm. "It states to arrive by yourself."

Uncle Michael's tone was soothing and comforting. "Brianna, pay attention to what I say." You have to stay away, stay in the hospital , don't go to the warehouse, for your own safety , please "

I couldn't but agree, I asked  " who could have sent this message and what exactly do I owe them"

"I’m not sure, but we’ll work it out," Uncle Michael remarked. "At this moment, I only want you to stay safe." The individual who penned that note could still be observing your actions. "Visiting the warehouse may put you in harm's way."

I sensed a chill running along my spine. I never considered that. I swiftly turned my vehicle to the hospital, my heart pounding with excitement.

When I drove into the hospital parking area, I noticed Uncle Michael waiting for me. He stood near the entrance, his gaze sweeping over the parking lot.

I parked beside him, and he swiftly entered the vehicle. "Let's leave this place," he stated. "We'll find a secure place and decide on our next action."

I nodded, experiencing a wave of relief come over me. I was happy to have Uncle Michael with me. We would uncover the truth about this and locate Logan.

As we left the hospital, I found myself pondering on what was happening. Who was the author of that note, and what were their intentions regarding me? And above all, where could Logan be?

I glanced over at Uncle Michael, who was gazing directly forward. "We'll locate him," he stated, as though understanding my thoughts. “We will locate Logan and safely return him home.”

I nodded, a wave of resolve sweeping over me. We would locate Logan, regardless of the effort required.

As we navigated the twisting roads, Uncle Michael's gaze was searching the area, his face revealing tension. I didn't give it much thought, believing he was simply being careful.

Suddenly, a black SUV veered into our lane, making us halt. Uncle Michael look at the view on  the rearview mirror and said somethings quietly to himself.

Before i could say or do anything at all, An SUV vehicle hurriedly parked right in front of us , some men appeared from the vehicle.

Uncle Michael jumped into motion, swiftly unlocking the doors and guiding me to the passenger seat. "Leave, Brianna!" "Flee!"

I didn’t think twice, leaping out of the car while Uncle Michael diverted the car.
I sensed a commotion behind me, yet I refrained from glancing back, my heart racing in my chest.

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me , I heard the man yelling behind me but I couldn't turn.

Just when I thought I had gotten away, a man grabbed my hand suddenly and threw me into the SUV coming right behind us.

I saw uncle Michael running off from the scene, I was forced to stay in the SUV vehicle that I was dragged into.

The SUV sped off with me leaving Uncle Michael and the security. I was vulnerable to these unknown people, having no clue where they were leading me or what their intentions were.

Fear gripped them as the SUV maneuvered along the twisting roads, the men in dark suits silent and threatening. I attempted to think clearly and devise a plan, yet my thoughts were a chaotic mix of fear and doubt.

To what place was I being led? And what would occur to me once we arrived?
