Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Brianna’ s pov
I relaxed at a coffee shop, I ordered a cup of coffee, sat down to enjoy it with the cool breeze and silence. I have been so stressed lately because of my wedding preparation.
Just as I began to unwind, my phone rang, loud and incessant.
I paused briefly before responding, wishing it wasn't my dad phoning to scold me once more
However, the voice on the call wasn't my father's . It was Aunt Martha calling, and she seemed to be panicking
" Brianna, I'm truly pleased we were able to get in touch, " she said.
"I have been attempting to reach you for hours "
I experienced a wave of anxiety. "is something bothering you Aunt Martha? "is everything okay?"
There was silence at the other end of the call I thought it had dropped
" Brianna, it is Logan". Aunt Martha said with a shaky voice
" He is missing"
I felt it in my stomach. "What exactly do you imply by stating he's missing?" I insisted, my heart pounding.
Aunt Martha acknowledged, "We're not sure.". " He was suppose to come home and have lunch with us , we have been trying to reach him but it wasn't going through"
I was already standing, taking my handbag and leaving the café. "I'll be there shortly," I said to Aunt Martha. "We will locate him, please do not worry"
However, as I hurriedly left the coffee shop , I couldn't help but become very anxious . What happened to Logan?, where could he be at the moment?
I arrived at Aunt Martha's house, my heart pounding with concern. I noticed the worry reflected on her face when she opened the door with Uncle.
"Brianna, I'm so excited you were able to make it," Aunt
Uncle Michael acknowledged with a nod, his expression grave.
"We are quite concerned about Logan. He left the house yesterday morning and we haven't had or seen him afterwards"
A wave of fear rushed over me
"What do you mean that's behaviour is not typical of Logan"
" did he mention where he was going"
"No he just said he had a few task to complete, we didn't think much about it believing he would return in time for dinner" she said
" However, since he did not arrive we became concerned"
Uncle Michael said, "We attempted to contact him, but his phone went directly to voicemail." "We assumed he might have simply been occupied, but then...then we discovered this."
He raised a small evidence pouch containing Logan's phone and hat. A shiver traveled along my spine.
"Where did you come across these?" I inquired, my tone a bit above a whisper.
Aunt Martha's eyes filled with tears " only a short distance down the street from here.". "It seems that , he could have been abducted"
I felt as though I had been hit in the stomach. Taken through coercion? Logan?
It was impossible to achieve. I backed away , sensing that I might faint.
Uncle Michael grabbed me, making sure I remained balanced.
"Brianna, we will locate him ."
" We will undertake all necessary measures to ensure his safe return home "
Nevertheless, I couldn't rid myself of the uneasy sensation that had taken root in my stomach. Who might have taken Logan? And what is the reason?
Aunt Martha offered me a cup of tea to help soothe me " we will overcome this, Brianna " . " We'll locate Logan and return him home "
As I examined the evidence bag that held Logan's phone and cap
I couldn't shake the feeling that we could be short on time already
I occupied the passenger seat in Aunt Martha's vehicle, my thoughts racing with dreadful possiblities while we headed to the police station. Aunt Martha attempted to calm me, but I could still see the concern clear on her face
Upon reaching the station, I experienced a feeling of unease. I had never interacted with the police prior , and the idea of reporting Logan as missing seemed intimidating.
Aunt Martha held my hand and offered it a gentle squeeze. "We will overcome this, Brianna." "We will locate Logan."
We reached the station, and Aunt Martha walked up to the front desk. "We must report someone who is missing," she declared, her tone resolute.
The officer at the desk glanced up, his demeanor showing understanding. "I truly feel remorseful about discovering that." "Could you please accompany me?"
We accompanied the officer to a tiny room situated at the rear of the station. He identified himself as Officer Johnson and started inquiring about us.
Aunt Martha said that Logan left the home yesterday and hasn't been spotted or heard from since. I observed that his phone and hat were discovered on the road, and we worried that he could have been abducted
Officer Johnson concentrated deeply, his demeanor becoming increasingly grave with each passing second. " I need a current picture of Logan " he stated
" Could you share additional information regarding his friends and acquaintances
I nodded, attempting to recall anyone who may have information. "He has some coworkers from his job, but I'm not sure if they've met him." "Uncle Michael is currently verifying this with them."
Officer Johnson replied with a nod of recognition. "Amazing." We should also participate in a conversation with them. In the meantime, I will issue an APB with details about Logan's appearance. We will take care of every part of it.
Upon exiting the police station, a wave of despair overwhelmed me. What if Logan hadn't been found? What if something awful had occurred to him ?
Aunt Martha hugged me, attempting to soothe me. "We will locate him, Brianna" . " We simply need to remain optimistic and continue looking " .
However, as we headed back to the car , I couldn't rid myself of the sensation that time was moving swiftly. Where could Logan be ? And was he still living ?
