Chapter 30 Kitty, do you mind?
A few days passed quickly, and now Danieru and Camilla were on vacation. Mrs. Malaike had given them tickets to Macau, hoping the couple could spend a few weeks there comfortably.
Macau is arguably the complete entertainment capital of East Asia. That's why many tourists recommend this country. It's also a must-visit destination for tourists, and it takes at least 21 hours and 25 minutes, or 22 hours and 25 minutes. It was quite long and tiring.
The couple had just arrived at the hotel room Mrs. Malaike had also booked, and they were relaxing by lying on the bed.
"It was a really tiring trip," Camilla said, closing her eyes. She felt like her back was about to crack, and her body was incredibly weak.
"I don't like long trips, and this one takes a lot of energy." Danieru joined in the complaint, closing his eyes and stretching out his arms.
"But if you want to find a mafia, then places like this are the right place." Camilla still couldn't accept the fact that Danieru had lost before the battle. She felt that justice was when all rights were restored to their proper places. No... it wasn't that she desperately wanted to be the wife of the richest man, but this was something she simply couldn't accept.
"You're still stubborn, it seems," Danieru retorted.
Hearing her husband's answer disturbed Camilla a little. He wasn't one to give in, especially without first making an effort. Camilla tilted her body and looked at Danieru, who was now lying on his back.
"I don't mean to cause trouble, but if this drags on, they'll become more and more arbitrary."
Danieru, hearing Camilla's words, simply nodded; he knew she didn't mean it that way.
"Doggie, have you ever thought about what I'm thinking?" Camilla asked suddenly. The woman put on a sweet smile, she then rolled over and lay down on top of Danieru's body, the woman rested her head on Danieru's broad chest, and listened to Danieru's heartbeat.
"What are you thinking?" Danieru asked. The man immediately hugged Camilla, not forgetting to close his eyes.
"If the shares still belong to Grandpa, they definitely can't sell them. They definitely have to get Grandpa's approval if they're buying or selling shares. If they don't do that, they're definitely cheating the mafia."
Danieru fell silent. Camilla was right. He'd been thinking about it since their last conversation about the Malaike family, and now Camilla was sharing the same thought.
"What if we break into the parent company and investigate this directly?" Camilla asked softly.
"It's not that easy to break into the head office; my movements have been restricted for the past two years." Danieru exhaled, stroked Camilla's hair, and then his eyes opened.
"We can't always hit a dead end. There must be a right path, and we can use it." Camilla reiterated her husband's understanding. She didn't want him to take a wrong step and later regret not fighting.
Danieru, hearing Camilla's request, was unable to act. Should he make another exchange with Camilla now? Was she ready for the exchange he wanted?
Camilla, getting no answer, raised her head and looked at Danieru, who was now also staring at her.
"Okay, I want to make an exchange with you."
Camilla, hearing Danieru's words, simply rolled her eyes lazily. What exchange did Danieru want from her this time? Was it something ridiculous?
"Kitty, why are you silent?" asked Danieru, still not getting an answer from his beautiful wife.
Camilla looked at Danieru. "What do you want to know?"
Danieru raised his hand and smoothed Camilla's black hair that slightly obscured her beautiful face. He then smiled and touched Camilla's forehead.
"This wound, how did you get it?" Danieru asked.
Camilla smiled awkwardly, unsure where to begin. The wound coincided with the destruction of her life, and to reveal it would be tantamount to exposing her own shame.
“Don’t you want to tell me?” Danieru asked.
Camilla looked away.
“Kitty, do you mind?” Danieru asked.
Camilla exhaled softly.
“If you don’t want to say it, then you don’t have to.”
Camilla closed her eyes for a moment. Would this exchange make Danieru willing to carry out the plan to bring down Hatsu, Rachel, and the old man? Would her honesty make Danieru consider saving his mother-in-law and grandfather-in-law?
“Do you promise to fight for everything if I tell you?” Camilla asked. She was bargaining with Danieru, and she was sure he wasn’t a fool who couldn’t read her intentions.
“That depends on whether you’ll tell me everything that led to it or not.”
Camilla stared at Danieru, their eyes meeting. “Answer my question.”
Danieru exhaled softly.
“Are you listening?” Camilla asked.
Danieru stared, still not speaking.
“Doggie,” Camilla reprimanded.
“If you tell me everything, then everything you say is my absolute command.”
Camilla swallowed hard, trying to find the right words to tell Danieru everything.
“Kitty, why are you so quiet?”
“I’m remembering that incident. Could you please be quiet?” Camilla asked.
Danieru chose to remain silent, not wanting to provoke Camilla. According to the book Ryota had given him, women who are going through their menstrual cycle are easily irritated.
“It was the night of my fifteenth birthday, and Father threw a huge party at the most luxurious hotel. Father said I would be the luckiest princess ever, and I believed him.”
Danieru began to listen to Camilla, hoping she wouldn’t stop mid-story.
“I was wearing a blue dress, just like Cinderella’s.” Camilla paused, the memory replaying in her mind. She closed her eyes, her head spinning as she recalled the incident.
“Kitty, why don’t you continue?” Danieru asked.
“That night... that night...” Camilla's body trembled, she could barely catch her breath.
“Kitty, don't be afraid, I'm here, and you're safe.” Danieru kissed Camilla's forehead, trying to give her strength.
Camilla, feeling the warmth, felt better, but she still felt her soul shaken. It felt like just yesterday, and even now she hadn't quite recovered from the miasma of poison.
"I'm with you, and I can help you bear this burden." Danieru reassured Camilla. He had to get her to talk, and then he could reach a conclusion about his wife's situation.
"That night I was kidnapped," Camilla said in one breath.
A tear fell, then another. The beautiful woman's body trembled, even growing cold.
"Kitty, don't cry."
"T-that night... I... I was taken away by people wearing masks." Camilla's body collapsed, she lacked the strength to continue. Her eyes stared at him, while sobs began to escape her.
"I'm here, I'll listen." Danieru hugged Camilla, trying to convey his love and affection to her.
Why was she feeling such excruciating pain now? Why did just seeing Camilla in so much pain make his throat tighten?
“Kitty,” Danieru scolded.
“They... they...” Camilla bit her lip until it bled, her hands clenched tightly.
Danieru patted Camilla's back, trying to calm himself down so she could calm down too.
“Say it slowly, don't rush.” Danieru spoke again.
“They raped me.” Everything was ruined now. Camilla burst into tears, burying her face in Danieru's broad chest.
Danieru felt angry, and when he heard that, he fell silent. Without realizing it, he was crying silently as Camilla finished speaking. He hadn't imagined his wife's past would be so difficult.
“Kitty, wake up... tell me everything.” Danieru's voice was hoarse.
