CHAPTER 27. Ambushed

Chapter 27.

AMBUSHED.

Kitara had never seen her in such a rage; she knew Amaya to be a sensible lady who calculated the outcome of every move she made before making it. Being dragged by her before Alpha Mykel meant something was wrong, but with her rage, maybe something huge is wrong. Her heart keepers circulated the thought that maybe Amaya had fallen in love with Alpha Mykel, and that is the secret she has been withholding from her. That is the only plausible reason she could think of.

Alpha Mykel also taught the same; he had seen adies act out of jealousy, and she seems to also do so; he smiled and stylishly reshaped his hair with the aim of looking more cool. They got to the corner, and Amaya immediately got to work, dropping atomic bombs: "Are you insane? What the hell are you doing with him?" she said.

"Pardon, what do you mean?" Kitara asked, "Okay, where were you last night? I came to your room to have a chat with you, but you were nowhere to be found," Amaya said.

"Oh about that, I happened to be at Mykel's quarter," Kitara replied innocently. "All night?" Amaya asked.

Kitara quickly got to work, explaining what had happened the night before.

As Amaya listened to Kitara's explanation, her face softened a bit, but her eyes still held a hint of suspicion. Kitara tried her best to convince Amaya that nothing had happened between her and Alpha Mykel, but Amaya was not easily convinced. "I don't trust him, Kitara. "He's hiding something," Amaya said, looking at Kitara with a stern expression. "And I don't want you getting too involved with him."

Kitara was taken aback by Amaya's sudden outburst. She had never seen her friend so angry before. But she couldn't blame her; after all, Amaya had been the one to warn her about getting too close to Alpha Mykel in the first place. "I understand your concern, Amaya," Kitara said, trying to calm her down. "But I promise you, nothing happened between us."

Amaya sighed, still not entirely convinced, but she knew she couldn't force Kitara to do anything. "Just be careful, okay?" she said, putting a hand on Kitara's shoulder. "I don't want to lose you."

Kitara nodded, grateful for Amaya's concern. She knew she had to be more careful from now on. She couldn't afford to let her guard down, especially not around Alpha Mykel. As she walked away from Amaya, she couldn't help but wonder what was really going on between Alpha Mykel and Amaya. Could there be something she didn't know about? She shook her head, pushing the thought aside. She had more important things to worry about.

As she made her way to the kitchen, she tried to clear her mind and focus on the task at hand. But as she turned a corner, she felt a hand grab her from behind. She let out a scream, but it was quickly muffled by a hand covering her mouth. She struggled to free herself, but the person was too strong.

Just as she thought all hope was lost, she heard a familiar voice. "Let her go," Alpha Mykel said, his voice cold and menacing. The person behind her immediately let go, and Kitara stumbled forward, gasping for air. She turned around to see Alpha Mykel, his eyes narrowed in anger. "Who was that?" he asked, his tone deadly.

Kitara shook her head, still trying to catch her breath. "I don't know," she said, her voice shaking. "Someone grabbed me from behind."

Alpha Mykel's eyes darted around, scanning the area for any sign of the attacker. But there was no one in sight. "We need to get you out of here," he said, taking Kitara's hand and leading her back to his quarters, but Kitara refrained as she remembered what Amaya told her, i will go to the kitchen instead, i have a duty to perform" she said as she escaped his grap and rushed towards the kitchen.

Alpha Mykel couldn't shake off the feeling of disappointment and unease as Kitara rushed away from him. He knew something was amiss, but decided not to go after her, thinking it would only make matters worse. Instead, he headed straight to the main palace to meet with his chief guards about the occurrence.

Meanwhile, Kitara made her way through the palace, taking note of her surroundings and looking back occasionally to ensure she wasn't being followed. Her mind was in disarray, and she couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt and shame that had washed over her. She knew that what she had done was wrong, and she was now faced with the daunting task of fixing the mess she had created.

As she walked, she tried to come up with a plan of action, something that would help her regain Alpha Mykel's care and salvage the mission. She knew that time was of the essence and that every moment wasted could mean the difference between success and failure. So, with a determined look on her face, she quickened her pace and headed towards her kitchen, ready to face whatever came her way.

As Kitara braced herself for impact, she quickly analyzed the situation. The masked men were well-built and seemed to be experienced in combat. But she wasn't going down without a fight. She dodged their first blows and delivered a swift punch to one of their stomachs. He groaned in pain and stumbled back, giving her the opportunity to take on the other attacker.

With a quick kick to his knee, she was able to bring him down to the ground. She had learned self-defense techniques during her training as a spy, and it was coming in handy now. But the fight was far from over.

The first attacker recovered quickly and lunged towards her with a sharp object. She dodged it just in time, but it grazed her arm, leaving a small cut. Adrenaline pumping, she fought back fiercely, landing several blows on her attackers.

Finally, with a swift kick, she was able to knock down the first attacker. The second one tried to run, but she was able to grab hold of his mask before he could escape. She ripped it off, revealing a familiar face.

It was one of the palace guards, someone she had seen around before. This was a shock, as she never expected someone from the palace to attack her. She quickly made mental notes of his features, knowing that this information could be useful in her mission.

As the guard lay on the ground, groaning in pain,Kitara stood over them feeling triumphant until something hard hitted her on her head from her back, her sense organs lose control, she fell to the ground and the world began to fade before her, but before she closed her eye she noticed a red heeled shoe before her.
