Chapter 354 - From the movie... - mdfour
Miguel
"What do you need, Rino?" I heard Luisa say, speaking with the doctor.
I was still dazed—my pregnant wife, Inés hurt... they attacked our untouchable place, messing with my wife and family.
"Air transport."
I didn't see anyone else. If I look at my old lady, I won't be able to leave here. When I reached the area near the pool where the fight was taking place, I saw they had received cuts. I also saw Roland slicing the tendons of his opponents' feet, Arnold killing with alternating gun and knife.
Gustavo was breaking bones, that was his specialty. Kevin was ruthless, fighting one-on-one, with a knife in each hand, slashing from side to side on the enemy's body. Freddy was shooting; he had a gun in each hand.
Simón was fighting hand-to-hand, pulling a knife from his boots and starting to stab. Daniel was shooting at those trying to enter. And me... this time I... I stayed out of the fight. I left my old lady covered in blood, the same woman who had been like a mother to me since I joined the boss's ranks. She saved my wife! Now Alfredo is trying to save her...
"Aníbal, tell us everything is clear!" Roland shouted.
"For now, you have exactly twenty minutes to get out of there. Six cars are on the way."
The helicopter. It was true, Inés can't go in a car. My friends saw me. I don't know what kind of face I had, I don't know when Roland arrived.
"Listen to me! Look at me!" I did, his voice sounded like an echo. "Disengage! You are Cebolla, remember. Repeat it!"
"I am Cebolla," I managed to say.
"We have to get out of here," Gustavo suggested.
"I am Cebolla." Something began to strengthen inside me. I looked for Daniel's gaze. "We need to get to the helicopter, Inés is hurt." Silence fell over everyone.
"Remember, cars are coming towards you."
We heard Aníbal say. I have to get them out of here. I ran to the parking lot, Daniel caught up with me, we got in the car, I took the wheel, Cereza in the passenger seat. Like the devil himself was chasing me, I pushed the car to its limits, and in three minutes we reached the place where we had left the helicopter. I had the keys, I got out of the car, Daniel took the wheel and immediately started back, we have to evacuate them. We have to pick up the people. I got in the helicopter, turned everything on. It wasn't very big, it only had capacity for ten people.
"Miguel, you have eighteen minutes left."
Churrusco's voice was filled with frustration and pain.
"Alfredo, I'll be there in two minutes. Have everything ready for Inés's transfer," I said.
……
Verónica
I feel so much guilt, I'm the reason this is happening, if I hadn't thought of that blessed outing. When will I understand that I married a man many people hate? Now Inés was on the brink of death, I wouldn't forgive myself.
I see Alfredo's skill as he attends to her, fighting to remove the bullet from her stomach, time is against him. Carlina monitors her vital signs, Roland's arms wrap around me, and I feel like an insect, I took refuge in his chest, unable to contain my emotions.
"I'm to blame for this, Cielo. If I had stayed home, none of this..."
"Not now, Verónica." His gaze was stern. "Don't become a problem for me, Vida, when we still need to get out of this place and a battalion is coming."
I started to tremble, memories of the time the bomb went off, where my friend Lorena died, overwhelmed me. Diana screamed. When I looked at her, she was holding her belly.
"Rino!"
He looked at Roland, then in Diana's direction, who was being held by Clarisa and Shirly.
"Just what I needed! Pregnant women in these situations?" He looked at Carlina.
"Lay Diana down!"
The nurse shouted, she was still a few months away from graduating. The events unfolded like a movie. Arnold picked her up and placed her on the couch. They all looked tired, their black clothes stained with blood.
Carlina approached and, under Alfredo's instructions, attended to our friend. They started an IV, it was necessary to give her sedatives, she was very agitated, her legs were raised with many pillows. The men averted their eyes when the doctor asked the nurse to check for bleeding in her underwear.
"All set, my old lady."
Rino kissed Inés and set the bullet aside. But his look said it all. We heard a helicopter, Gustavo went out, and when he returned, he just looked at Simón and nodded.
"I have three portable stretchers in my briefcase! Help me get Inés and Diana on them."
What I admired about these men was their ability to synchronize without speaking. Amidst Inés's painful groans as the doctor stapled her wound, it was clear he didn't have time to sew it up just yet.
Gustavo and Simón grabbed the stretcher, while Patricia held the IV high. The doctor put his surgical instruments in a bag, now touching Diana's abdomen and talking to her. Freddy and Arnold lifted that stretcher.
"Understood!" said Simón. I saw Roland, Alfredo, and Kevin arming themselves to escort us. "Only ten people can go on the helicopter: Rino, Patricia, Diana, Inés, Mrs. Josefina, Consuelo, Carmela, Roland, and Verónica. You all go in that transport." My husband took my hand. As we left, Daniel arrived.
"Those going on the helicopter, come with me! The rest, take your women and equip the cars."
The head of security was giving orders. We ran to where Miguel was waiting on the beach, the only place he could land such a machine. Roland never let go of my hand and took care of the older women. We started boarding, and Miguel's shout was expected.
"What's wrong with Diana?!" he yelled.
"Calm down, cowboy!" said the doctor. "I preferred she lie down; she's only three months along and has been through a lot. Now get us out of here."
Roland positioned himself next to the pilot. Diana and Inés were secured, Alfredo sat between them, and my mother-in-law, Mrs. Josefina, and Carmela remained quiet and diligent. Patricia helped them buckle up, then she and I sat down.
I looked at Simón; everyone was tight-lipped, lost in thought. It was clear they were all on edge. Miguel lifted off, and each second the beach looked smaller. Tears streamed down my face, and Patricia took my hand. No matter what anyone says, I feel very guilty.
......
Clarisa
I was the oldest of the wives, but I had never been in a situation like the ones my Cherry faces. Today, I would see him in action, that other personality he avoids showing me. While they were taking Inés to the airport, Freddy, Kevin, and my husband were equipping three cars. Arinka took my hand, she was so nervous.
"Everything will be fine," I said, and she nodded. I trusted them. At that moment, Freddy arrived.
"Look at me, beautiful." She looked at him, tears streaming down her face. "We've talked about this, now I need you to focus."
"I'm scared..."
"Me too, but if we panic, we lose. Do you trust me?" She nodded. "Good, we'll get through this. Our son is waiting for us in Blanco." Freddy had adopted her son. He kissed her forehead. "Yes, sir!"
He responded to an order I didn't hear. He took his wife's hand, and they ran to get into a car. He was the driver, and Arinka sat in the back behind him.
"We have ten minutes left!"
They arrived just seconds after we saw the helicopter take off. Only Simón's voice could be heard. Daniel came to my side, took my hand, and we headed to another car. It was expected that he would be the chosen driver.
"Cabbage, sit in the back. Rat is coming with me."
He said, and Simón appeared with Luisa, getting in. I looked to the side, and in the car to the left, Freddy was in the driver's seat, with Kevin and Carlina getting in next to him. In the other car, Arnold took the wheel, with Gustavo as the co-pilot, carrying a giant weapon. Guadalupe, Shirly, and Gladis got in the back. They were the first to leave, followed by us, and lastly the car with Kevin.
Despite being the first to marry one of these fallen angels, I had never faced an event of this magnitude. Now I understand what my husband deals with. I can't deny my heart is racing.
"Please call Any, they need to clean up the mess we left behind."
He spoke, though I didn't know to whom the order was given. Watching them fight earlier was like witnessing an action movie. I saw Daniel kill right in front of me to prevent harm from coming to me. I'm not in favor of this, but at this moment, it's us or them, and I have three beautiful children waiting for me. We had been speeding for five minutes.
"Clari, put on your seatbelt!" my husband shouted.
