86. The Decision!
86. The Decision!
Author's POV
"She is pregnant but we need to run some tests."
The doctor was confused after seeing shocked faces.
Arabella sat up and was equally shocked.
"This is not possible, how can this happen when _"
She panicked.
Arthur sat beside her and gently held her closer.
"It's okay! It happens... Relax!"
"But Arthur, I have to face Rancho."
She groaned frustrated.
"Do you understand that all our hardwork is gone for a toss just because we were not careful."
"Kitten!"
Oliver tried to calm her down.
"It's not anyone's fault. We were careful."
"No!"
She grabbed her head frustrated.
"This is my fault. I should have known better... Fuck!"
She got up from the bed and walked out of the room.
Oliver was about to follow her but Arthur stopped him.
"Let her be alone for a while, she needs it."
Arabella was sitting in the lawn. Julie saw her grabbing her head frustrated.
She has never seen Arabella this much hurt.
Julie sat beside her.
"Why do you look so hurt, isn't this a good news for you... I mean, you are going to be a mother..."
Arabella rubbed her face and sighed.
"It's not that I am not happy that I am pregnant but I have heard the news at the time when I really needed my skills. Now how am I supposed to fight in this state, I can't!..."
"Is fighting with Rancho more important than your baby?"
Julie asked sadly.
"No! I never wanted to fight with him but he has created that situation... He is a threat to my people... Now I am pregnant so Rose ma'am will fight with him and we all know that he was looking for that chance, he wants to kill her... I can't let that happen and that's the reason why I wanted to fight."
She was in pain.
"See, I understand that you think that Rancho is going to hurt anyone who fights with him... But I feel that you shouldn't burden yourself with all responsibility. You have a family now and they all are powerful. You have to relax and trust them... Worrying is okay but trying to handle everything is just ruining peace of your mind."
Julie explained her.
"You have suffered enough till now, just let it go and trust the process... Knights are powerful to handle this situation."
Arabella huffed and hugged Julie.
"I am lost, Julie... I really don't understand how to deal with this good news and bad news at the same time... I am just worried..."
Julie hugged her back.
"Everything will be fine... You don't have to worry about anything alone, we all are here."
She rubbed her back.
"I don't know if I should say this or not but I have a 0.1% crush on you and your hug might increase the percentage."
She teased.
Arabella chuckled and broke the hug.
"I saw you kissing Noah that day... I think you are not gay."
Julie turned red when she said that, making her laugh.
Arabella went back to the room when her mind was little calm after small chat with Julie, still thinking how can this happen when they were so careful.
On the other hand, Oliver opened the drawer and checked condom packets, there was nothing suspicious but when he looked closely he noticed small pin holes on it.
He tossed the packet toward Arthur madly.
Arthur checked it and realized that someone has planned this. No one comes to the room except house help.
"I want to see all maids."
He gritted.
Arabella entered the room and saw them looking at each other with knowing looks, they always talk like this with their twin language.
They dropped whatever they were doing when she entered.
Oliver noticed how tired she was looking, he gently pulled her in hug and caressed her head.
"Any idea how this happened?"
She asked, closing her eyes on his chest.
Oliver looked at Arthur and he shook his head, suggesting not to tell her anything. They understand that this thing has given her a big shock, now they can't bother her more by telling that someone planned it.
"It happens, Kitten. Nothing provides hundred percent security... Maybe this was meant to happen. I know the timing is wrong but your decision will be final."
"It happens? So do you have kids outside our relationship?"
She looked at him amused.
He frowned confused.
"What?"
He looked at her and Arthur flabbergasted.
"Arthur told me you have used this thing too much so there might be accidents running outside, we don't know."
She tried to sound serious but his horrified face made her naughty smile break through.
He took a deep breath of relief.
"God! It's nothing like that..."
Arthur also laughed at his reaction and teased.
"Your whole life must have flashed in front of you."
He stood behind Arabella and kissed her head.
"Do you want this baby, Dove? Your decision matters."
Arabella thought for a second and touched her belly.
"I don't know how to feel about it. It's so sudden that I am numb to the feeling."
"Take your time and think about it."
He made her sit on the bed.
"Your life will change. Your body will change. You will have one more responsibility on your shoulders."
Oliver sat beside her.
"Not like you are alone in this, we are with you. We are always there but this is your body and you will be the decision maker."
"If I say no then you won't make kids?"
She asked.
"We will!"
Arthur assured.
"We have other ways, we don't have to put you through all this pain if you don't want. We can surrogate... Specially in your case where your career and survival is dependent on fitness of your body."
"But your mother did it."
She sighed, still having heavy feeling in her chest.
"We can't compare you, Dove... What our mother did was her decision, we can't expect you to do anything which she did..."
He answered rubbing her thigh gently.
She sighed heavily and leaned against the bedpost tiredly.
"what do you think about it? This child belongs to only one of you. I don't know who is the father."
Oliver made her lay down on the bed and she groaned when she stretched her sore back.
"This is our child and we can't decide who is the father, we don't want that in our relationship. When we agreed to involve with you together, this was the important topic we discussed and agreed on that we will not check who's child it is... So we are clear on our part, we want this child if you are ready and if you want it. If you don't want it then we also don't want it."
Arthur covered her with bedsheets.
"We will accept your decision. Anyways, you can't fight either way. With baby or after abortion, you won't be fit to fight."
She grabbed his hand and closed her eyes, tiredness made it hard for her to keep her eyes open. Arthur laid down beside her and she felt Oliver getting up to leave. She grabbed his hand, silently asking him to stay back.
Arthur nodded at him and he also laid down beside her. She slept between them as they made her feel safe from both sides.
They kept caressing her, her body was stiff which slowly relaxed under their touch.
She has never fell asleep this faster before.
Dark clouds covered her sleepy head but when it cleared she saw her childhood. The day which had deeply daggered her heart. She was young, probably around five years old but was mature than her age. She doesn't recall what but she did something which angered her mother and the flames of anger were so strong that she can still feel the burn.
The voice is still fresh in her mind.
"Why do you have to be so dumb?"
She flinched at her mother's hateful growl.
"Mom, I"
She started crying.
"Enough! Just don't say anything. I have tried my best to tolerate you but you always get on my nerves. Why can't you just stay away from my eyes?"
Her mother almost slapped her but controlled herself.
Her younger self couldn't understand what wrong she did, it felt like her mother was throwing bottled up anger at her.
"Why are you angry? I didn't do anything"
She was jerked by her delicate arm hatefully.
"You failed me by taking birth... I didn't want you, I never wanted you... You fucked all my dreams. I can't fake it anymore, I just can't. I hate you, I hate you with all I have... I curse your life with just pain and agony. Just like me, you will never get anything you want..."
So brave of her mother to say these big bad thing to small girl who don't even know how to talk with proper vocabulary yet. Little Arabella stood there dumbfounded, didn't understand the meaning of words but the feeling definitely broke her heart.
After that she never received her mother's love which she always craved for.
The last flashback she had was the night where she was tossed into the water like garbage, it made her wake up with the jolt.
She wiped her sweaty face and touched her belly, thinking what's the difference between her and the woman whom she has hated all her life if she abandons the child. She never wanted it for herself. She can't do this when it's a child of men she loves.
Knights woke up when they felt her moving.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?"
She nodded while wiping her sweaty face.
"I have decided, I want this baby."
Brothers looked at each other confused, not understanding what influenced her decision so strongly.
