Chapter 311 The Misunderstanding Was Cleared Up

Chapter 311 The Misunderstanding Was Cleared Up

He glanced at her, and her face turned red.

He smiled and undid the clasp on her back.

"I said no more." She tried to crawl away.

Steven pulled her back, trapping her in his arms. "Be good, honey..."

"I'm not your wife." Nora pushed against him.

Still couldn't push him away.

He didn't seem to use much force, yet held her firmly in place. When he was gentle, he was very gentle; when he was domineering, he was very domineering.

"You are my wife." He coaxed her, nibbling at her lips, starting to seduce her.

Nora felt uncomfortable from his seduction, her whole body weak as she leaned against him, saying resentfully, "Do you really need this so badly?"

"I'm a normal man." Steven bit down on her collarbone.

Nora trembled slightly. She didn't know what to do either. She didn't want to pay attention to him, but his kisses left her panting softly, her eyes hazy.

"Honey, wrap around me." Steven lifted her body up, the desire in his eyes unmistakable.

He'd been holding back uncomfortably at the resort earlier.

Now that he finally had a chance, how could he let it pass?

Nora refused, her face flushed. "Didn't you just say you'd give me a bath?"

"I'll wash you after we make love." Steven licked her lips, his gaze burning.

"You..." Nora couldn't hold out, conquered by him.

After it was over, Steven carried her to the bath, even thoughtfully wrapping her knee in plastic wrap.

After washing, he placed Nora on the bed and kissed her forehead. "Sleep now."

Then he went to shower.

Nora lay in bed, listening to the sound of water from the bathroom, thinking about those scenes from earlier, her ears couldn't help but turn red.

He still got his way.

But now that they'd talked things through, she didn't feel so depressed anymore.

The next day was the fourth day of the new year.

It was the day Aria was returning to Thalassia. Since Nora had left early yesterday and felt a bit embarrassed about it, she wanted to see Aria off at the airport today.

She checked the time - it was already 11 o'clock. Aria's flight was after 1 PM.

It took two hours to get from home to the airport.

Nora hurriedly got up and found a dress to put on.

Steven was sleeping in her room. Hearing the noise, he opened his eyes. "Where are you rushing off to?"

"Aria's going back to Thalassia. I'm going to the airport to see her off." As she spoke, she called Louis. "Hello, Louis, what time is Aria's afternoon flight?"

She was worried about not making it in time and wanted to confirm.

Hearing her call Louis, Steven's face turned cold again, glaring darkly at her back.

"It's a 1:45 PM flight, T2 terminal. Are you going to see her off?" Louis asked on the phone.

"Yes, I want to see her off."

Louis said, "I'm just about to head out now. Want me to swing by and pick you up?"

"You'll pick me up?"

Hearing this, Steven's face grew even darker. He threw off the covers, walked over and snatched her phone, saying coldly to Louis on the other end, "Louis, I'll take my wife there myself. No need to trouble you."

With that, he hung up.

Nora was stunned. "What are you doing?"

"What's wrong with you?" Steven looked at her expressionlessly.

"What do you mean?"

"After everything we did last night, after making love several times, you still want to flirt with Louis. Am I, your husband, dead to you?"

Nora looked at him. He seemed quite angry, glancing at her coldly, his chest rising and falling slightly.

Nora sighed. "Aria is really nice. Yesterday she invited me to the resort, and you insisted on bringing me back. I left so suddenly, I felt bad about it. I can only see her off at the airport today."

"I'm asking about Louis!"

"There's nothing between us. I don't know how else to explain it to you."

"If there's nothing between you, why did you give him cake and go play water motorcycles with him?" He frowned, clearly agitated.

"The cake was for Aria. She knows I'm into food, so she made one of her desserts for me to try and help her improve it."

Steven paused. "So that cake you brought back was from Aria?"

"Yes, otherwise why would I be tasting it there and then buying ingredients to study it at home?"

Steven's expression softened a bit. "What about Louis? Why did you go on that water motorcycle with him? You were holding him so tight."

"If you go to a resort and don't try any activities, isn't the entrance fee wasted?"

Steven asked, "Just for that?"

"What else?"

Good!

Just like a penny-pinching woman - because she couldn't waste the $268 resort entrance fee, she spent money to buy a water motorcycle ticket. He had to admire her logic.

"Besides, Aria could tell I was in a bad mood, so she suggested I go have some fun to relax."

"Why were you in a bad mood?" Steven leaned down to look at her.

Nora glanced at him, her eyes full of anger, and threw the dress in her hand at him. "You have the nerve to ask? Leaving me at home while you took Scarlett to the resort - what kind of husband does that?"

"I went to the resort to find Theo." Steven caught the dress, frowning.

"Is Theo avoiding her?" Nora asked.

Steven pressed his lips together. "It's their private business. I can't say too much."

Nora pouted. "What's so special about it? I don't even want to know!"

She muttered, "Louis paid for the resort and water motorcycle tickets yesterday. Must have been expensive. Looks like I'll have to treat him to a meal to return the favor."

Nora was planning in her head. Even though they were wealthy people, Nora didn't like taking advantage of others.

Hearing this, Steven's face darkened again. "You want to go out to eat alone with another man?"

"You go out alone with women plenty." Nora said sarcastically, then walked to the bathroom to wash her face.

Steven followed, his tone cool. "Don't have dinner with him."

"I don't care, I'm going to treat him." She bent down to wash her face.

When she finished, Steven was still standing behind her, staring at her darkly.

Nora jumped. "Why are you still standing there?"

"We're not done talking about Louis." He walked closer, staring at her through the mirror. "When are you treating Louis to dinner? I'm coming too."

"Why would you come?"

"I need to make sure my woman is truly loyal to me."

Nora couldn't be bothered to listen to him and brushed her teeth on her own.

When she was done with everything and about to go put on her shoes, Steven grabbed her hand and pulled her back into his arms. "Don't go alone. Wait for me. I'll take you to the airport."

Nora's heart stirred slightly as she looked at him. "It's over two hours to the airport from here."

"I know." He responded and went into the bathroom to wash his face.

Nora had no choice but to wait for him.

A while later, they set off.

When they reached the airport, Nora got out of the car, and Steven immediately took her hand.

She glanced at him. "Can we not hold hands?"

It was kind of awkward.

"No." Steven refused directly, pulling her hand as they entered the crowded airport. "Where are they?"

"T2 terminal."

When they arrived, Aria and Vivian were standing at the security checkpoint, with several servants pushing their luggage beside them.

"Aria!" Nora called out and walked over with Steven.

Aria and Vivian both turned around at the same time.

Seeing them appear together, Vivian's face showed slight disbelief.

They'd made up again?

She muttered beside Aria, "Shameless."

Aria turned to look at her. "Vivian, what are you saying?"

"I'm talking about Nora." Vivian was very annoyed, looking at her mother. "Mom! Nora stole my man. Why won't you help me teach her a lesson?"

Her whole family wouldn't help her. Vivian was about to burst with frustration.

Aria said calmly, "If he doesn't like you, just let it go. You can't force love, and women who throw themselves at men don't get good results. After you go to Thalassia, I hope you can figure this out yourself. Your family wants you to reflect because we care about you."

Vivian's face darkened, but she said nothing.

"Why did you come?" Aria walked over to talk to Nora, then glanced at Steven.

Steven nodded slightly in greeting.

Having broken off the engagement with Vivian, it was somewhat awkward for him to meet the Bennett family.

Nora just remembered this. She'd been in such a hurry when they arrived that she hadn't thought about it.

Even two people who went on a blind date that didn't work out feel awkward meeting again, let alone a man and woman who'd been engaged - it was practically a disaster.

To avoid awkwardness, Nora whispered to Steven, "Why don't you wait for me at a coffee shop in the airport?"

"Okay." Steven responded lightly, took off his suit jacket, draped it over Nora's shoulders, and left.

After he left, Nora went to talk to Aria. "He's stepping away for a bit."

Aria nodded, looking at the suit jacket on her shoulders, and said with a smile, "How does he treat you?"

"Pretty well." Nora smiled faintly.

After chatting for a while, Louis arrived, so Nora said goodbye and went back to find Steven.

She didn't expect to find Vivian pestering Steven at the coffee shop.

"Steven, I really didn't lie to you. She said it herself. She said divorcing you wasn't a loss at all - she got a house and money. She's just treating you like an ATM. If you don't believe me, go ask her if she said it herself. I'm leaving anyway, I have no reason to lie to you." Vivian's eyes were red.

She knew she was leaving, but she still couldn't let go of Steven. She'd secretly followed him to the coffee shop, wanting to talk to him a few more times.

Nora walked to the doorway and heard Vivian's words, stopping in her tracks.

"So what?" Steven looked at her coldly.

"So what? She's with you for your money! Doesn't that make you angry? Steven, I'm the only one who truly loves you."

Vivian was very emotional. "Scarlett can't be a good person either. Otherwise why would she have chosen to marry Theo before? Only I have always been devoted to you. Please, let me stay in the country, okay? If you don't want me to bother Nora, I won't. I'll be good and listen to you from now on, okay?"

She didn't want to go abroad. Once she left the country, she'd have no power at all!

Vivian cried, "Even though I was wrong about Nora, it was because I love you. Getting rid of her was good for you too."
