Chapter 312 Steven Is Very Popular with Women
Chapter 312 Steven Is Very Popular with Women
Steven let out a cold laugh, "Good news?"
"Isn't it?" Vivian's eyes widened, "I'm clearly the one who loves you wholeheartedly. Why would you choose her? She can't help you, and she's scheming against you behind your back. Steven, you've really been fooled by her."
"Even if she's fooling me, I'm willing." Steven looked at her coldly, "If you weren't going abroad, I wouldn't let you off."
Vivian bit her lip hard and said dejectedly, "Why are you treating me like this? I like you so much. What did I do wrong?"
"Your biggest mistake was liking me."
Vivian was stunned, looking at the man with his cold expression, "Do you really have no feelings for me at all?"
"You've hurt Nora again and again, and you still want me to have feelings for you? Vivian, you're overthinking this. All I feel for you is disgust." Steven never held back with her.
Vivian's heart was breaking.
Why was it useless even when she humbled herself like this?
She had tried everything!
Nora!
If she hadn't seduced Steven, he would definitely have married her. This was all her fault.
"After you go abroad, if you dare reach back here to cause trouble for Nora, I definitely won't let you off." Steven warned her.
Vivian's face went pale as she looked at Steven.
"Don't think you can do whatever you want just because the Bennett family has your back. Even if you're abroad, I can make the Bennett family lose their daughter. At most, the Bennett family and I will cut ties from then on." Steven's handsome face was covered with a dark cloud.
Vivian's face was ashen, her expression dim.
After Steven finished speaking, he got up to leave, but saw Nora at the door. He paused slightly.
Nora stood at the doorway, wearing Steven's jacket, quietly looking at him.
"Did you hear everything?" Steven came out and held her hand.
She came up to about his chin height. She raised her beautiful eyes and glanced at Vivian in the distance, who was covering her face and crying.
"I've said goodbye to Aria." Nora said softly.
She didn't sympathize with Vivian.
Sending her abroad was already the best ending. Otherwise, she would be living in prison.
"Let's go." Steven put his arm around her waist.
As the two walked out, Vivian looked up and through the floor-to-ceiling glass saw Steven holding Nora and kissing her forehead, "Are you touched?"
He was referring to what he had just said to Vivian.
"Not touched." Nora smiled and shook her head.
"That's not enough?"
"If you said those things to me because of another woman, I'd probably be scared to death." There was a hint of worry in Nora's eyes.
Steven's eyes narrowed slightly. He pulled her over and kissed her, "I would never treat you like that."
Nora murmured in agreement.
On the way back, Nora was eating snacks in the car, munching crisply.
"Is it good?"
"This one's good." She nodded, "Where did you buy it?"
"James bought it. I don't know."
Nora smiled and continued eating. Her phone suddenly rang. She picked it up and saw it was Raina calling.
"It's Raina." Nora answered, "Hello, Raina."
"Nora, it's me. I just wanted to ask if you'll be home today? My parents heard you got married and want to visit your place."
"What?" Nora was confused, "Now? That's not very convenient."
"What are you guys doing?"
"Steven and I are at the airport seeing off a friend."
"When will you be back?"
Since she was in the car, Nora didn't dare lie, so she replied, "We're on our way back from the airport now."
"Then how about this - we'll come over tonight and have dinner at your place. Your parents said you're a good cook, so we want to try your cooking. Oh, and Tanner and Jasmine are all coming too."
Nora frowned.
This was really annoying - these endless visits. Couldn't they just let people rest for a bit?
After hanging up, Nora said to Steven, "Steven, my parents told Kai and the others to come visit our place. They're coming for dinner tonight."
Steven was a bit helpless. He had planned to go out on a date with Nora tonight.
"Can't you refuse?" he asked.
"Before I could even say anything, she arranged everything herself and hung up. Whatever, let's go buy groceries." When relatives come to visit, you can't exactly turn them away, right?
"Let's take them out to eat when they come." Steven really didn't want Nora to work so hard. He had kept her up half the night yesterday and didn't want her to be too tired.
"They said they want to try my cooking. Whatever, I don't feel like cooking much. Let's just make some Seafood Boil."
"Okay."
After Steven drove into the city, he turned toward the market.
Nora had fallen asleep. Steven woke her up, and the two went to the market together to buy groceries.
That evening, the Adams family arrived.
Nora stood at the entrance to greet them, her long hair pinned up, making her look dignified and sweet.
"There are slippers here you can change into. Please come in." Nora welcomed everyone inside.
When relatives visit, they wander around the house looking at the layout and decor.
"This is my youngest daughter's home!" Wayne loved to brag and proudly showed Kai around.
The apartments at Riverside Apartment were all beautifully decorated. Everyone who saw it praised it.
"Not bad. Great view, and the floor level is really nice." Stella had dropped her previous arrogance and was full of praise for their home.
Nora felt something was off. Looking at Kai, his face no longer had its previous high spirits.
As for Raina, her eyes kept drifting to Steven from time to time. Occasionally she would hold Lily, as if showing off her gentle, caring nature.
Steven sat in the living room entertaining them while Nora went into the kitchen to bring out the food.
Kai was about to speak to Steven when Steven stopped him, "Kai, wait a moment."
He strode into the kitchen to help Nora with the dishes.
Nora said, "Steven, we can start eating."
"Okay." Steven carried the dishes to the dining table.
Raina came over and asked, "Is there anything I can help with?"
She was asking Steven, her face slightly flushed.
"Ask Nora." Steven's handsome face didn't even look at her.
Raina felt a bit disappointed and looked at Nora, "Nora, is there anything I can help with?"
Nora said, "Nothing to help with. We're having Seafood Boil tonight. It's all ready."
"Just this?" Raina seemed disappointed. "I heard from Wayne that your cooking is really good, so I wanted to try your cooking."
Nora didn't answer her.
But Steven replied, "We exercised too much last night. My wife is a bit tired."
After hearing this, Nora wanted to cover Steven's mouth. She glared at him. What? He just said it out loud.
Now Raina knew they had been intimate last night.
Raina's smile became very stiff. She touched her neck, not knowing what to say.
"If you're tired, go rest. I'll handle this." Steven said to Nora.
Nora practically wanted to glare him to death. Through gritted teeth she said, "It's just two or three dishes. How tiring can it be? The seafood vendor already cleaned all the seafood."
"I'm just worried you can't handle it." He casually put his arm around Nora's waist.
Raina was standing right next to them and happened to see Steven lean down and naturally kiss Nora's lips.
Raina's expression was very awkward.
Nora saw this and asked Steven, "Are you doing this on purpose?"
"Otherwise she keeps looking at me like that. I find it annoying." Steven whispered in her ear and kissed her again, as if no one else was there.
"The elders are all here." Nora's body stiffened. She looked at Raina, who had a hurt expression on her face.
Jasmine was also holding her baby and looking their way, biting her lip hard with resentful eyes.
Nora thought to herself, why are all these women so obsessed with Steven? Is he really that handsome?
Good thing he's pretty cold toward women. Otherwise, wouldn't he be changing girlfriends every day? After all, so many people like him - he could just pick one at random.
Everyone gathered around to eat.
Steven sat with Nora, a slight smile on his lips. He served her food and peeled shrimp for her, his movements elegant and natural.
Kai's family watched.
They didn't expect such a high-quality man to treat his wife so well. It was really rare.
After eating for a while, Kai finally got to the main point, "Steven, you said before that those funds would drop. They really did drop sharply these past two days. Is your information reliable? If it is, I'm planning to redeem them."
He had been so confident a few days ago, but in the past two days he had lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Now he either had to add more money or redeem.
According to his usual practice, he would definitely add more money, because redeeming at this point wasn't cost-effective. But he remembered Steven saying there would be a crash. If it kept dropping, then redeeming to cut losses was more important.
Kai was panicking now. Losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in two days - his high blood pressure was about to flare up. He had no other profession; he made his living trading stocks and funds every day.
Steven drank his water, his eyes calm as he said, "Redeem them. Those funds aren't reliable."
Steven only told him this for Nora's sake as her relative.
Kai asked him, "Which funds do you think are good?"
Steven glanced at them. Kai had an ingratiating smile on his face.
"You can try EverCrest Capital and NovaEdge Ventures." Steven left it at that without saying much more.
Kai immediately opened his phone to buy in.
This was his purpose in coming to Riverside Apartment - to get some market intelligence.
Kai asked Steven some more questions about the stock market.
Steven answered him, professional and sharp.
As the two talked, the others couldn't get a word in. Tanner looked at Steven enviously and said to Nora, "Your husband is really amazing. He knows everything."
In business, Steven really was outstanding.
The men at the table admired him, the women were infatuated with him. This was a charismatic business elite - well-dressed and refined.
When they were leaving that evening, Wayne and Jasmine started scavenging things from their home again.
The gifts Electra had sent were still in the living room, unopened.
Wayne and Jasmine opened them all without a word. Inside were expensive foreign wines, supplements, prepared nutritional products, and such.
The two liked everything they saw and wanted to take it all.
Nora pressed her temples, "Those were all brought by Steven's family. You can't take everything."
Nora felt it wasn't right to take everything. If Electra asked about it and found out it all went to the Adams family, it would be really hard to explain.
"These wines are good wines. I'm taking them." Wayne had his eye on the wines. The bottles looked high-class, so they must be worth a lot.
Jasmine was interested in the supplements. Women like things for beauty and health.
Kai watched the two of them carry several bags and looked down on them a bit.
Since Kai's family was also there, Nora had to pick up a box of nutritional products to give to Stella, "Stella, this is for you."
It wouldn't be right not to give them something.
Stella accepted it, "Thank you!"
After returning home, Raina scanned the nutritional products with her phone. The price that came up was over thirty thousand dollars.
Raina was stunned and said to Stella, "Mom! This box of nutritional products is over thirty thousand dollars!"
"Really?" Usually nutritional products were only two or three thousand dollars. Stella opened the box - there were only eight jars inside. "Is this really that expensive?"
"It's over thirty thousand dollars. And the wine Wayne took just now, it's this brand. Look, isn't it?" Raina searched online.
Stella nodded, "That's the one."
Looking at the price, they ranged from over a hundred thousand to two hundred thousand dollars per bottle.
Both Stella and Raina were stunned, their faces showing undisguised shock and surprise.
Raina said, "Mom, what kind of family does Steven come from? The wine he buys costs one to two hundred thousand dollars a bottle, and he gives away several bottles at once. All that wine together must be worth over a million dollars."
Stella's eyes were shrewd, "Not simple. I think this Steven must be someone with real status and position. His family must be very wealthy."
Raina thought for a moment, "Mom, I'm looking for work in South City anyway. Do you think I could stay at Nora's place?"
Stella looked at her, "Raina, what do you mean?"
"That kind of man must be really hard to find in real life, right?" At least in all her years, Raina had never seen a man more outstanding than Steven.
