Chapter 101: Wolf Part 2
Chapter 101: Wolf Part 2
Mirage’s P.O.V
Before I knew it, he had me flat on my back and then he was straddling my waist, with his hands holding on to the lapels of my jacket. He looked down at me with lust-filled eyes and my entire body froze up for a second, before it reacted violently to his touch.
“No!”
Alex’s voice seemed to come from far away as Alistair’s laughter blended in with the surrounding.
Suddenly, I remembered something that Alex had told me not too long ago…
‘You’re a hybrid, Mirage. You’re just as much wolf as you are Fae. In choosing your Fae powers over your wolf over and over again, you are suppressing your wolf side and that’s not a good thing. The antidote is already working, so you don’t need to worry about becoming a rogue ever again, but let your wolf in as well. Let it know that you accept it, you welcome it.’
My wolf…
The words reverberated inside my head along with the howls of a wolf that grew louder with every second that passed.
Alex was right…but so was Alistair.
I had put too much faith in my Fae powers…and I had ignored my wolf. When I shouldn’t have…because my wolf had saved me in the first place…
Now…I looked up at Alistair as he laughed at Alex, threatening him as he straddled me…and then I gave in to the howling…
Pain rippled through my entire body…pain and pleasure. It was something I had never felt before. The bones in my body shifted, broke and bent and reformed…but it wasn’t an unwelcome feeling. It felt normal…like this was how it was always meant to be.
Before I knew it…I was standing on four paws and the ground was a lot closer. Alistair sat on the ground a few feet away from me, his eyes wide in horror…and I didn’t need to be told twice. I jumped at him with my jaw open and bit down on his shoulders with all my strength and ripped off his arm to his shrill screams.
When I looked up, blood still dripping down my muzzle as I saw Akiko running to her master from the corner of my eyes; I saw pride in Alex’s eyes…just as the mating bond snapped into place and I felt his mind collide with mine.
‘Mirage…can you feel it? Can you hear me?’
There was joy and worry in his voice, and I could feel his fear, I could feel his worry as well.
‘Yes.’ I didn’t know if I was doing it right or not, but I hoped to God that I was, that the mating bond was really working.
‘Cameron is here!’
And that was all the warning I got as the door to the room was cut down in half…and in walked someone that I hadn't been expecting to see…not today.
It was my baby sister. It was Maze…
She was carrying a big sword in her hand that she had just used to cut down the doors and as I saw Akiko run towards her, she swung the sword at her, effectively cutting Akiko in half.
But instead of dropping to the ground in pieces, the body disintegrated into tar and fell to the floor and then Maze used an orb of light of her own on the tar and it disappeared completely.
“NOOO!” Alistair screamed, trying to reach for his slave with his only surviving arm, but right then, another shadow zoomed into the room and stood in front of him, a sword pointed to his throat.
“Alistair Corvenus, the Vampire Queen has ordered your execution.” The man in black and red robed raised his sword and brought it down on his neck, beheading the beast that had tormented me for years. “On behalf of the Council and the Queen, I hereby carry out my orders.”
I watched as the head fell to the floor, followed by the body.
Everything happened in slow motion.
Somewhere in the back, I heard Cameron and Alex’s voice…but everything seemed to come from so far away…
The world seemed like it was spinning.
It was all over.
Finally.
Alistair’s lifeless red eyes stared at me…dead. He was dead. The man who…everything…the man who had taken everything from me…was dead…
It was all over…
“Sis! Sis! Can you hear me…?”
Yes…I could hear her…but I couldn’t…
There was darkness…
It was coming for me…
Darkness…and peace.
