Chapter 190 DON'T MEET YOUR HEROES
Chapter 190 DON'T MEET YOUR HEROES
UNKNOWN'S POV
This bitch had listened to each and every one of their cries and probably smiled with happiness all along.
The goddess turned suddenly to
ward the altar as she stared at the still Sebastian on top of the stone.
Then, she pointed at him casually,
“Him,” she said.
Dax blinked in confusion.
“What?”
The Goddess smiled brightly at his lost look.
“He’s the one you all should be blaming for the Rogues appearance in the first place.”
The world stopped for the two Alphas as Lance stiffened beside Dax.
“…What do you mean?” Dax stared at her with confusion.
Her grin widened even impossibly further as if she was gaining so much from their terrified surprise.
“I mean after all,” she said lightly like she was making small talk about the weather, “he’s their creator, he made them.”
Dax’s mind blanked.
No.
That, that's not possible. It doesn't make any sense.
That couldn’t even be possi–
“And honestly,” the Goddess sighed dramatically, “he should stop pretending to still be asleep. It’s becoming kinda boring you know?”
Silence from the stunned Alpha as they both looked at him and slowly, Sebastian’s eyes opened.
They were the bright shade of crimson tat each of them had ever seen meaning it's not Sebastian, it's the other person.
The ancient wolf inside of him.
And their eyes locked directly on the goddess with a terrifying awareness as the clearing went deathly still once more.

ALISANDER’S POV
I hate her.
Not in the simple way most people hate other people, not in a temporary way either.
I hate her with the kind of fury in every fiber of my being that had survived for centuries and could rot you from the inside.
And it has.
For centuries, I've only burned through it all with rage keeping me sane.
And as I stare at her now, feeling the irony inside me as she's covering her ugly exterior with silver light knowing everyone would recoil if they saw her true self.
I feel the rage boiling inside of me once again because she’s smiling.
She is always smiling, even after all the centuries or even a millenia of causing anguish and suffering to wolves, she's pleased with herself.
Who's the idiot that worshipped her in the first place?
“You,” I say quietly.
My voice sounds wrong in Sebastian’s throat but it's guttural regardless.
The false goddess turns toward me slowly, as her silver eyes light up with delight the moment they land on me.
“There you are,” she says softly like we’re old companions.
Almost like she didn’t chain my soul to her ghastly throne for centuries of defying her.
Like she didn’t listen to me scream and beg until my voice stopped working.
My hands shake violently.from the rage alone.
Dax and Lance are still nearby but I barely register their presence, all I see is her.
The imposter and parasite pretending to be a divine being.
“You disgust me,” I tell her plainly, but of course it only makes her smile even wider.
“And you still speak with such bitter conviction.”
The silver light around her pulses softly and it brings me to bitter memories I've kept hidden for far too long.
Another night of grand betrayal and suddenly–
I am no longer here facing her, I've traveled back centuries before all of the Rogues problems of bloodshed.
I've travelled back to when I wasn't considered a rebel against the Moon goddess or turned into a monster.
All I did was love my people, that was my first mistake.
I loved them all equally regardless of their differentiation, especially Omegas since they suffered the most with their weak bodies.
And they were used and discarded like mere breeding tools.
And the mate bond was just another tool used to control and manipulate even the stubborn ones even further.
Hell, I've watched Omegas lose their minds and turn delirious after a rejection where they scream over and over or end up dying because an Alpha decided they were inconvenient.
So I searched for a solution for years and eventually, I found one.
A way to sever mate bonds safely and even make two wolves bond together and make themselves each other's mates.
With no pain, madness or death.
True freedom.
For the first time, Omegas could survive rejection without losing themselves to death.
I remember how they cried when I showed it to them, how they had kissed my hands and called me merciful, even bowing in thanks.
Everything changed when she got involved.
At first, I didn’t understand. I thought the bond itself was sacred and she'd be happy if I brought more wolves together peacefully.
But she wasn't, she was pissed.
It had fed her.
Pain, grief and suffering from wolves, especially Omegas fed her.
And when I began removing that suffering–
She retaliated, slowly but surely.
From nightmares spread across countries to whispers of how I was committing sacrilege and madness reigning in packs.
Then came the rebellion from the people I had helped.
The very Omegas I had saved, turned around and screamed that I was cursed for doing this.
That I had angered the goddess for going against the “natural order of things”.
Why the hell did they not remember this when I was helping them find new and better mates?!
I remember running through the Forbidden Forest while being hunted like prey with silver arrows and fire.
I remember hearing them pray for forgiveness to her while they tried to kill me.
And in the end, I cursed them all out of spite and betrayal.
I turned every wolf who betrayed me into a Rogue but it wasn't meant to spread and become something like this centuries later.
It was supposed to end with them, one generation with a one time punishment before death.
But she–
This monster right in front of me turned it into an epidemic and disease that has plagued the realm ever since.
“You diseased animal,” I snarl.
Lance visibly flinches at my tone but she only laughs softly.
“Now there’s the Alisander I remember.”
“You are not a goddess.”
“Well I never claimed to be one.”
“You let them worship you regardless anyway.”
She shrugs lightly.
“They all seemed rather eager.”
Something inside me nearly snaps.
“The true Moon Goddess is gone,” I hissed through clenched teeth.
“She’s been missing for a long time and you took her place like a parasite feeding off corpses.”
The silver light flickers once like I poked a sore spot of hers but it quickly disappears before anyone can see it.
But I see it.
“You feed on misery,” I continued coldly. “On suffering and grief. Face it, you are nothing but a diseased scavenger pretending to be divine.”
For the first time, her smile turns from harmless amusement into something sharp.
“And yet,” she says softly, “your kind still kneels to me.”
Oh, I hate that she’s right.
I hate it. Stupid wolves have built entire civilizations around her for so long.
Wars, religions, mate bonds and rituals have been done in her name for so long that everyone is worshipping a thing that was never theirs in the first place.
Her silver eyes roam over me slowly as I feel my skin crawl before she asks something that shocks me.
“There is one thing I still don’t understand though.” She turns around before turning back to look at me.
“Who put you in that body?”
