Chapter 30 — Blake's Best Friend
Dana POV:
"Take a deep breath Adriana, you can do this." I mutter to myself, trying as best as I could to gather enough courage to approach Jason and tell him about my pregnancy.
Taking a deep breath, I knock on his room door and when he asks who it was behind the door, I tell him it's me and he invites me.
"Hey Dana, what's up? You need something?" he asks, and I quickly shake my head.
"I'm fine Jason and I don't need anything. Uhm, the thing is, I have something to tell you and I need to tell you this as soon as possible," I say to him and frowns lightly.
"You're actually making worried Dana. Is something wrong? Did anything happen with your siblings?" he asks worriedly.
"The thing is Jason that I...," the second the words were about to fly out of my mouth, his room door flies open and Buckley walks in.
"Apologies for the interruption, but Mr. Davies has a guest downstairs, and he wants you both to meet him. Mr. Case, I believe you're familiar with Mr. Anderson," he says, and Jason's blank expression immediately turned into an excited one.
"Tell Blake we'll be down in a few," he tells Buckley who immediately turns his back to leave in his usual robotic style.
"Who's Mr. Anderson?" I ask.
"He's Blake's best friend and a really close friend of mine," he answers.
"So, I assume he knows about you two and I don't necessarily have to play the role of a wife?" I ask, unconsciously sounding frustrated and irritated.
"Well, yes he does, but why do you sound so done with it? You sound pretty pissed," he says, and I sigh.
The only reason I'm pissed is because I didn't get the chance to tell Jason about my pregnancy. With this Anderson guy around, I probably won't get the chance to talk to him again today. Lord knows it took me so much to gather enough courage to tell him and now I have to gather even more courage the next time I approach him.
"It's not that I'm pissed. I'm just a little tired today and I don’t think I'm mentally prepared to pretend, so let's just say it's a good thing he's aware. Saves me from the stress," I tell him, and he chuckles a little.
"Well, you don't have to worry about anything cause Brian's a nice guy and he won't be stressing you at all with any silly questions. Also, whatever it is you wanted to tell me, I look forward to hearing it whenever you're ready to tell me. You know you can count on me to always listen to you," he says and I mentally scoff. Let's see if he keeps the same reaction when he finds out he's about to be a father.
"I'll most definitely keep that in mind Jason but for now, let's go meet this Mr. Anderson guy and get this over with," I reply, and he chuckles before walking out of the room and I follow closely behind him.

"You?” I yell out as soon as I see Anderson, who is apparently Blake's best friend.
I honestly cannot believe my eyes right now. Why does this guy. of all the men in the world, have to be Blake's best friend? What exactly is with me and getting in bed with the men in Blake's life?
"Well, if this isn't the craziest thing ever," Brian, the guy I had a one-night stand with a few weeks ago drawls and saying I'm embarrassed right now would most definitely be an understatement.
"Wait, you two know each other?" Blake asks, visibly confused.
"Well, I wouldn't say we know each other, per se, but I guess you could say we shared a crazy memory together," Brian replies and I frown.
"Try to be more specific Brian, don't be weird," Jason hisses and since I'm not shameless enough to want the fact that I had a one-night stand with him to come out, I had to chime in and save my pride.
"We met at the bar I used to work," I blurt out the first lie that came to mind and all three of them turn to face me with raised brows before Brian lets out a loud laugh that confused and infuriated me at the same time.
"Oh, my goodness, this is embarrassing," Jason muttered and I stare back at him wondering how what I just said could be considered embarrassing.
"W-what exactly is so embarrassing and why are you boys laughing? Did something I said sound funny?" I hiss angrily, hating the fact that the boys were making me feel embarrassed.
"Uhm, Dana, hate to be the one to say this to you, but Brian hasn't exactly been in the States in the last two years. He only returned about two months ago. So, unfortunately dear, your lie isn't exactly something we buy," Blake replies and never have I felt even more embarrassed.
"Fucking hell," I mutter underneath my breath, trying to come up another lie to get out of this but slowly realizing that I'm feeling way too embarrassed to actually come up with anything.
"We met about a month at a bar, but she got way too drunk and threw up all over me before eventually blacking out and leaving me to carry her," Brian finally speaks up and although a part of me is grateful for his sensible lie, another part of me wished he had just kept quiet.
"Oh! Now I get why she didn't want to say anything but I gotta ask bro, did you guys perhaps want to hook up or something before she passed out?" Jason asks and Brian immediately throws him a dirty look.
"For goodness’s sake Jason, mind your business and let the girl be. Can't she see she's already flushed with embarrassment," Blake tells him off, obviously teasing me and I fold my hands over my chest childishly with a pout to show him I did not find his words funny at all.
"Blake, I know she's your wife and all, but can I borrow her for a second? I just really want to catch up with her and I promise I'll be quick," Brian requests and I'm kinda puzzled cause why would he want to talk to me? What exactly does he want to catch up on?
"I don't think you should be asking me for permission but before she agrees or not, I'm just gonna introduce you two and yes, I know you two already know each other and that there's really no point but I'm still gonna do it anyways. So, Dana, meet Brian Anderson, my longtime friend and the only one besides you two that know about me and Brian, meet Adrian Gonzalez, my pretty wife," Blake introduces excitedly and I couldn't help the feeling of guilt I felt when it dawns on me once again that Blake has been nothing but nice to me and yet, I somehow ended up fucking both his best friend and boyfriend and now I'm pregnant for his best friend.
"It's really nice to meet you, miss Adriana," Brian says, stretching his hand out for a handshake.
"Likewise, Mr. Anderson," I reply, returning the gesture.
"So, can I borrow her now?" he asks.
"I'm not a commodity Brian but I'll allow it," I reply.
"Please excuse us," Brian says and we both move to the back of the house, a place I don't visit very often.
"What exactly do you want to talk about Brian?" I ask as soon as we arrive, not bothering to waste any time.
"Are you mad at me or something? Did I do something wrong?" he asks, and I sigh.
"Of course not, Brian, what could you have possibly done wrong? It's just, I'm not in the best of moods today, which is why I'll probably seem cranky and impatient with you. For that, I apologize. By the way, thanks for covering up for me earlier. I appreciate it," I say to him, and he smiles.
"You don't have to thank me cause believe it or not, I also did it to save myself. Anyways, how have you been?" he asks, and I frown.
"No offense Brian but I don't think my well-being so far has anything to do with you," I tell him, thinking he would be slightly offended, but to my surprise, he doesn't even flinch.
"I get it's none of my business Dana but the last time we met, you, in your drunken state of course, mentioned quite a few things to me and I just wanted to make sure you've been doing okay but if that offended you then, my bad miss. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable," he responds, and I'm lost.
"Wait a second, what do you mean by drunken state? Was I really drunk that night?" I ask, wondering what the hell he's on about.
"You don't remember? Really? Well, I guess that shouldn't surprise me since you did end up passing out," he says and again, I'm lost.
"Wait, what? You didn't lie about that?" I question.
"About you blacking out? Of course not. I didn't exactly lie about anything I said earlier. The only thing I did was avoid the part where we had sex, but besides that, every other thing I said really did happen," he clarifies. I honestly just wanted to die from this embarrassment.
"Whatever it was I said, was it really serious?" I ask.
"From my understanding, it sounded pretty serious, but you know what, you can forget it. I promise your secret is safe with me. I'm a lawyer so you can trust me," he assures and I'm even more confused.
"So wait, if I really did pass out, how come we ended up having sex? Don't tell me you fucked me while I was passed out?" I gasp dramatically and he breaks into a loud laugh, staring back at me like I had grown another head.
"You have a knack for making me laugh effortlessly and I like that. Anyways, to put your mind at rest, I did not have sex with a log of wood and it's pretty hurtful that you don't even remember what happened when I could never forget it but like I said earlier, we share a crazy memory but now I know it's just me," he replies and I may be wrong, but he sounded pretty disappointed that I didn't remember what happened and I honestly wish I did too.
"Sorry if it hurts your pride but I barely ever remember anything when I get drunk and even worse when I pass out. The only thing I remember is when you approached me and the morning after that but besides that, I'm pretty much blank," I explain, hoping he wouldn't feel too bad but at the same time, wondering why in the world I should even care.
"No need to apologize dear, it's all good. Even if you don't remember, your secret is still safe with me and also, I didn't sleep with you without your consent so don't worry about me being a pervert or anything. A lot actually happened that night but it's a pity you don't even remember half of it. Anyways, it's been nice catching up with you Dana and trust me, it's great seeing you again," he says, and I felt something weird right after he spoke.
"Let's get back inside now," he says before turning to leave.
"Thanks," I blurt out of nowhere and he turns around briefly to look at me with what I'm assuming was a sad smile before walking back inside the house and leaving me to my disorganized thoughts.
What exactly could have happened that night? I wonder to myself before shaking off the thought and trailing right behind him.
