Tough Decision

Tough Decision

“Thump, thump, thump!”
The thunderous footsteps of the marching soldiers echoed through the streets, their staggering numbers stretching far into the distance with no end in sight.
The blue sky was filled with thousands of flying beasts, each of them radiating a terrifying pressure. On the back of each flying beast stood an immortal general, overseeing the marching army below.
At such a loud gathering, onlookers immediately gathered around, some peering their heads out of the open window, staring at the scene happening below.
Onlooker A: “What is happening? Why are there so many soldiers on the street? Even the special legion army has been summoned out. Is the Seven Realms about to meet its demise?”
Onlooker B: “How could the Seven Realms fall when we have the seven legendary lords protecting us?”
Onlooker A: “But the Seven Realms have been facing several ambushes from the Fire Realm. Could it be that both sides have decided to go all out today?”
Onlooker B looked at the vast army below, stroking his short beard: “Seems like it.”
Onlooker A looked at the person by his side, saying with a worried expression, “Don't you think we need to run now? What if we get caught in the war?”
“Hahaha.” The man burst into laughter. “You must be new here.” He stretched his hand, patting the other party on the shoulder. “Don't be afraid; the seven realms will never fall.”
Onlooker A stared at the man, not knowing what gave him the confidence to utter those words.
He was just a wandering immortal merchant who had come to the seven realms to purchase some goods. Who would have thought that he would encounter a war on his second day here?
However, upon looking at his surroundings, he saw no hint of fear in the eyes of the people. Instead, their gazes wore admirations, their lips filled with smiles as they watched the spectacular scenes happening before them.
“Oh, look. It's the legendary lord Vagamound.” Someone pointed at the figure in the sky.
“Ah, it's indeed him. Wow, he is so good-looking.” The female onlookers squealed in delight at the appearance of Vagamound.
Vagamound sat on the back of an ancient divine beast, dressed in white armor with streaks of golden light radiating from his body.
His long hair fell across his shoulders, fluttering in the wind, his unrivaled features causing the maidens below to blush uncontrollably.
Right across from him were Eason, San, Gia, Frander, Sean, and Kris, who sat behind their mounts, respectively, with elegant posture.
“Wow, I can't believe I get to see all seven lords in a single picture. My eyes have been blessed.” One of the women commented.
“Victory to the seven realms!” No one knows who started chanting, but the entire crowd instantly joined in the chorus.
Sean waved his hand, smiling at the crowd.
“Wow, I can't believe that there are so many people seeing us off.” His eyes were filled with awe.
Vagamound also cast a glance at the people below, but instead of feeling elated at their chant, his brows twisted in worry.
What should I do?
The hands holding the reins of the ancient beast shook with nervousness.
He never expected that a day like this would come. A day he would be facing his father-in-law in a fight.
Would Belia resent me if I killed her father?
Vagamound felt a mountainous pressure press against his chest. He didn't want to lose his loved ones.
But the fate of the entire seven realms also lies on his shoulders. He can't abandon his people and let them be killed by the ruthless forces of the fire realm.
‘Sigh.’
Since this was a tough decision for him to make, Vagamound decided to leave it all to fate.
Whatever happened, he was ready to accept it.
