Never been here

Never been here

Thalia's POV

I sat upright as I watched my mother walk up to me. “What’s going on here?” my mother asked as her eyes darted between Milo and me.

I couldn’t talk for a moment. Suddenly, Milo stood. “Hi, Mom…” he said as he stretched out his hand for a handshake.

I sighed as I pulled Milo behind me. “What are you doing here, Mom?” I asked in a calm voice.

Her brow furrowed. “Don’t try to change the topic, Thalia. Why were you making out with your stepbrother?” she asked as she placed her hand on her waist.

That was when I saw Mr. Richard walk in, but I didn’t pay too much attention to him.

My gaze focused on my mom, “It’s exactly what you are thinking,” I blurted loud and clear. I was tired of her questioning me. I was about to walk out when she held my hand.

“You don’t walk out on me when I am talking to you,” she snapped as she stood in front of me.

I scoffed while running my hand through my hair. “And who do you think you are to tell me that?” I asked, looking into her eyes.

Her eyes widened. “Where were your manners? I am your mo...”

“Oh, please,” I bellowed with my hand raised, cutting her off.

Walking closer to her, staring deep into her eyes, “You claimed to be my mother?” I paused. “Yet every time I needed a mother, you were nowhere to be seen,” I said as I stepped away from her.

I saw her eyes widen as she took in a shaky breath. “But I’m still your mother. Don't you know it's a taboo having anything to do with your stepbrother,” she snapped as she held my hand.

I glanced at her hand on mine. I yanked it, cleaning my wrist. Then I stared at her face.

“A taboo?” I asked her. “Did you see it as a taboo when you decided to leave me in the midst of four grown men?” I asked.

Everywhere went into eerie silence. Of course she didn't see it as a taboo. Oh I really don't want to cry right now, but these stupid human emotions made tears welled up in my eyes.

“You were never there, and now you want to claim me?” I said with a sarcastic laugh as a single tear dropped from my eye.

“You can’t eat your cake and have it, Mom,” I whispered, cleaning my tears.

I saw Milo, Rhys, and Mr. Richard was all standing in silence, watching the scene, and that made me feel more embarrassed.

I was about to leave when I remembered something. Then I turned, staring at her.

“Also, this is my life, and I chose what I wanted to do with it, and if you think you can stop me, then you must be joking,” I blurted in her face before walking out.

I cleaned my eyes on my way. I wouldn’t shed tears for her. She always chose what was best for her without my interference, and now it’s time I also did what I wanted without her interference.

I tried to erase the thought of her as I passed Jax’s room. I wanted to go in, but I stopped. If I walked in, my mood might grow worse, and the last thing I wanted was Jax waking up to me crying.

So I made my way to Blaze’s room instead. I need to do some training to cool my head off.

When I got to his room, I wasn’t even given the opportunity to knock when the door was opened by him. It seemed like he had just finished taking a shower with the way his hair was a little bit damp.

“Hey,” he said as he stood, putting his hand in his pants pocket, his eyes looking down at me.

I exhaled before looking into his eyes. “Are you free for some training?” I asked in a small voice.

I saw him raise his brow. “Are you okay?” he asked as he rested his shoulder at the side of the door.

I smiled at him. “I’m okay. I just feel like kicking someone’s ass,” I said, folding my fists.

Blaze smirked. “Okay, let’s go kick some ass then,” he said as he closed his door and strode ahead of me.

I walked behind him with my fists clenched, and when we got to the training room,

I didn’t even give him the chance to prepare before I launched my attack on him.

I threw a kick at him, grabbed his hand behind him, twisting it hard before sweeping his feet off the floor. He fell face-flat on the floor with me on him.

The practice went on and on with me doing the hitting. It was as if he didn’t want to fight, and he was just letting me hit him.

When I had exhausted every bit of strength in me, I collapsed on the floor, breathing heavily. Beside me, Blaze also lay on the floor staring at the ceiling. We both listened to each other’s breaths.

Then Blaze broke the silence, “Did you feel better now?” he asked, staring at my sweat-drenched face.

I glanced at him before averting my gaze back to the ceiling.

“I’m exhausted,” I murmured, wiping some of the sweat away from my face.

I heard Blaze’s voice again. “That’s fair,” he said, raising his hand over his head.

A frown settled on my face as I looked in his direction. “What’s fair?” I asked, staring at his cracked lips.

I must have given him injuries on his lips. “I meant you didn’t feel sad, just exhausted,” he said with a calm smile.

I took in a sharp breath before I stood, then dusted my clothes.

Blaze still lay on the floor staring at me. “Thank you for letting me train with you,” I said slowly with my hand on my waist.

“My pleasure,” he said in a low voice.

I nodded before walking out of the room, and I was glad he didn’t try to stop or question why I was sad in the first place.

Well, that was the thing with Blaze. He always respected boundaries, yet he will always be there.

I walked straight to my room. I was so tired that immediately after I finished taking a shower, I went to sleep, forgetting I had not eaten and neither had I checked on Jax.

When I woke up, it was the next day.

I yawned as I stretched my hand. I felt so much better. It was at that moment Jax crossed my mind.

“Shit! How could I forget such an important thing?” I snapped as I tapped my head.

I quickly climbed down the bed and made my way into the restroom.

I brushed my teeth and splashed water on my face. When I saw that I was good to go, I stepped out of my room.

I walked to Jax’s room, and on getting there, my eyes widened because no one was on the bed. Though the medical devices were still in the room, he was nowhere to be found. I checked the restroom, same thing.

My heart sank. I don’t want to be negative, but where could he have gone?

I walked out, but what if he was awake? A thought crossed my mind, making my heart skip.

I shook the thought away as I made my way to the living room. And there he was, sitting in the living room with his head resting on his hand.

My eyes watered seeing him awake. I rushed to where he was without caring if other people were there. I crashed into him, hugging him tightly.

I felt his hand on my hair. I inhaled his scent as I buried my face in the crook of his neck. Oh, how I missed him so much.

Then I pulled away slowly. “How are you feeling now, does it still hurt? Wait let me..” I threw questions at him as I tried to touch his belle.

But he held my hand, making my head snap to his face. He cleared his throat. “I’m fine. People are watching,” he whispered. Though he looked calm, my eyes caught the way his cheek went red.

My eyes widened when I realized the position I was in. I quickly pulled away from the hug. My gaze settled on the people seated.

“Your mother has something to tell you, Thalia,” Mr. Richard said in a calm voice, making me stare at him.

I swallowed, now I have been caught for the second time, what is w
rong with me?!.

Also, what did my mother want to talk about again, and why does it have to be when everyone was present?
