Chapter 57 Strange Questions

I was just about to start undressing her to check the mark when I remembered Eric was still around.

I stopped dead in my tracks and gave Amelia a serious look. "Be honest with me, did anything weird happen last night? Did you have a nightmare or something?"

Amelia paused, thinking it over.

While she was quiet, I watched her closely.

Her eyes seemed normal, not like yesterday. But what the heck happened?

She grabbed my hand, looking a bit tense. "I think I had a dream last night. I remember bits and pieces, but now that you're asking, I can't recall much."

I was totally thrown off by that.

Amelia linked her arm with mine and asked softly, "Why are you asking such weird questions? And you've been skipping school and moving houses lately; what's going on? And what's with the fancy car and this guy?"

She looked as curious as ever.

I took a moment, then said seriously, "I need you to help me with something."

Amelia didn't even hesitate and nodded.

Seeing her like that, I felt a bit more at ease.

While she was checking her phone, I quickly communicated with Eric in my mind, 'Amelia seems fine now, but I'm still worried. Can you keep an eye on her for me?'

As I was talking to Eric, Amelia put down her phone.

Following my gaze, she noticed Eric's profile.

Eric glanced at her and lazily replied to me, 'Don't worry; she's fine now, but she might act up later.'

"Wow, is this your boyfriend? Oh my god!" Amelia exclaimed, hooking her arm around my neck.

She stared at me and then pinched my waist hard.

Leaning in, she whispered, "No wonder you moved out of the dorm. With such a hottie, you even forgot about me."

We goofed around in the back seat for a bit. It felt like nothing had happened. Those were the good times.

I gave her a quick rundown of recent events, and she nodded, getting it right away.

"Don't worry, I get it. I'm a seasoned internet surfer. I've seen these little stories a million times." She nodded calmly, not looking surprised at all.

Seeing her so calm, I went quiet.

After some fuss, Amelia grabbed my arm and whispered, "Actually, I did notice a mark on my body recently. It was weird, so I didn't check it. But now that you mention it, there might be something."

She pointed to her lower abdomen.

I awkwardly glanced at Eric, who immediately raised the partition.

With him out of sight, Amelia lifted her shirt, showing a noticeable red mark on her lower abdomen.

The mark was from when she hugged me.

"It was from when I was with my boyfriend. He likes to kiss here." Amelia covered her face, mumbling an explanation.

Upon hearing that, instant regret washed over me. When did she get a boyfriend? How did I not know about this?

"Don't blush just yet. Tell me, what's the deal with your boyfriend? If no one else touched you there, then he's the only one who could've left that mark." I shook her arm, trying to calm her down.

Amelia stiffened for a moment, realizing the seriousness of the issue.

She nodded right away and pulled out her phone to call her boyfriend. This was turning out to be more complicated than I thought.

"You seemed a bit off when I saw you yesterday, but it was still relatively normal. If I didn't know you so well, I wouldn't have noticed anything. Anyway, this mark needs to be checked out." I still wasn't reassured and explained again seriously.

Seeing my serious face, Amelia quickly nodded, "Don't worry. I'll find out what's going on and tell you immediately. Aaron's ashes must be found right away. Go quickly and find your partner to get to the bottom of this." I assigned her the task seriously.

This issue had blown up, and if it couldn't be resolved, it would be a disaster. Previous issues were minor, but this one had made the news.

Amelia quieted down. "But I have no memory of yesterday. If you hadn't come to find me today, I would've thought I dreamt of seeing you."

She was clearly in the dorm yesterday. Her roommates could attest to that. But she wasn't sure if she had seen me yesterday.

"Forget it, you should go back first." I patted her shoulder, gently comforting her.

The current situation was unclear. Resolving it as soon as possible would be best. But with Amelia's confusion, it was hard to get clear answers.

"I'll tell you as soon as I remember anything. Sorry for making you worry." She hugged me, looking guilty.

I comforted her a bit and watched her return to the dorm.

After she left, Eric grabbed my ear and pulled me to the front seat.

"What are you thinking?" He glanced at me, his attitude unclear.

I sighed and explained reluctantly, "We don't know who the other party is, so we can't act rashly. But her mark needs to be checked out, so..."

We still needed to see Willie. I had planned to have Eric accompany me to see Willie. If we could borrow the little white snake, that would be best. Once the issue was resolved, we could return the snake and avoid daily encounters.

Eric's face turned cold after hearing this. "Still thinking about that man?"

Alright, he was still holding a grudge.

I thought Eric had forgotten about it, but he remembered clearly. He was so petty.

After complaining, I quickly put on a flattering smile. "It's just that he has experience. If he can help us solve this in one go, that would be great."

Eric remained silent, his face even darker.

I quickly changed tactics, "In my view, his methods are rather ordinary. You're still the top choice in my book. Do you happen to have any superior solutions in mind?"

After all, being bitten by the little white snake really hurt. Willie said it would take several bites. How much pain would that be?

I couldn't imagine and silently lowered my head. "Eric, you're the best. Tell me!"

In response to my usual playful coaxing, Eric offered me nothing but a cold back. He snorted and immediately started the car.

As we reached the school gate, we unexpectedly saw Quinn's parents.

Why were they at the school? I pondered how Quinn had been faring recently. With so much happening, I hadn't found a moment to inquire about their well-being.

"Eric, can you pull over? I want to ask about Quinn." I tugged at his sleeve, my eyes pleading.

Eric glanced at me and quickly looked away.

Just when I thought he would drive off, Eric slowly pulled over.
