Chapter 179 179
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED
AND SEVENTY-NINE
Lucian's POV
Aurora crossed her arms, raising a brow.
“Are you two seriously fighting over a child that is currently the size of a blueberry? You’re all arguing over titles and I haven’t even finished my first trimester.”
All of us froze.
I looked at her and repeated.
“…Blueberry?”
She nodded confidently, smiling. “That's right." She blinked at us. “You think I just found out five minutes ago?”
I turned to her sharply. “Wait. How long have you known?”
She gave me a sheepish smile. “Three days.”
“Three days?!”
"Talia knows."
I gasped again.
"Griffin and Eleanor also know."
"What!!!" I gasped dramatically. “You carried life-changing information for seventy-two hours and didn’t tell me but you told everyone?”
She shrugged. “I wanted it to be a surprise.”
“Well, I am surprised, you got that one right.".
“Exactly.” she grinned brightly.
Kale burst out laughing.
“Wait, wait... so we just beheaded some evil guy and we've just been arguing over a blueberry?”
“It’s not just a blueberry,” Kieran protested, his cheeks going pink. “It’s a powerful, potentially alpha blueberry.”
Auron rubbed his temples.
“I cannot believe I’m really having this discussion. Today has to be the weirdest day in my life .”
I pulled Aurora onto my lap before she could protest, wrapping my arms around her waist protectively.
“From now on no stress for you,” I said firmly. “No fighting. The blueberry needs peace.”
She blinked at me, her lips parted.
“Did you just call our child ‘the blueberry’?”
“Yes,” I said without hesitation, the name just stuck. “And I will protect the blueberry with my life.”
Kale wiped imaginary tears from his eyes as he shook his head.
“He’s gone. Fatherhood took him instantly.”
I flashed my teeth at him.
Auron leaned forward, suddenly serious. “Wait… does this mean we have to baby-proof the pack house?”
Kieran’s head snapped toward him. “Baby-proof? From what? Us?”
“…From you,” he said dryly.
I pointed at Kieran, loving the banter.
“Absolutely from him.”
“Excuse me? I am extremely responsible.”
I shrugged.
“You tried to fight her brother over a title thirty seconds ago.”
“That was diplomacy.” he grunted.
“That was not diplomacy.” Auron growled.
Aurora sighed dramatically and leaned back against me.
“If this is how you’re all acting now, I’m not telling you when I start craving weird food combinations.”
All of us straightened.
“What kind of weird combinations?” Kale asked cautiously.
She tapped her chin thoughtfully. “I don’t know yet. But if I ask for pickles dipped in chocolate and someone laughs....”
“No one will laugh. I'll kill them myself,” I said immediately.
Kieran nodded solemnly. “We will acquire the pickles.”
“And the chocolate,” Auron added.
Kale looked between us. “You’re all whipped.”
“Yes,” I said proudly. “And thriving.”
Aurora smiled softly, her hand resting over mine on her stomach.
Auron’s expression shifted into something gentler. “You’re really going to be parents…”
I swallowed, suddenly emotional again. “Yeah.”
Kieran cleared his throat loudly.
“Alright, enough feelings. We need plans.”
“Plans?” Aurora echoed, then she frowned at him. "You do realize that you have your own pack right?"
Auron clapped his hand.
"Exactly, go to your pack. I'll take care of everything. I don't mind leaving my pack for a while."
"I'm not complaining, am I?" Kieran growled. "Kale will go back, I'm not doing anything important right now anyway."
"Why do I have to go? I want to stay here too." Kale shook his head.
"Fine, you can stay but make sure you call the elders and inform them of our extended stay here." Then he clicked his fingers. "Right, where was I? Yes. Step one: I teach the child how to walk.”
“No,” Auron said immediately.
He ignored him and continued.
“Step two, I teach him combat.”
“Absolutely not,” Aurora snapped, her eyes wide. "Its too early".
“Step three...”
I stood up and covered his mouth with my hand.
“Step one is letting the blueberry grow.”
Then Kale said,
“You realize that nickname is never going away now.”
Aurora burst into laughter.
“So,” Kale said, leaning forward, “what are we hoping for? Boy or girl?”
Aurora’s hand rested over her stomach instinctively.
“I don’t care,” she said softly. “As long as they’re healthy.”
I kissed her temple. “Same here.”
Kieran squinted at us. “But if it’s a girl and she inherits Aurora’s temper...”
Auron immediately stood up. “I'll just prepare myself for the inevitable. Maybe get some life insurance or something.”
We all laughed.
Aurora narrowed her eyes playfully.
“You’re all assuming this baby is going to be chaos.”
“You ripped someone’s head off ten minutes ago,” I reminded her gently.
She paused, her eyes squinted.
“…Fair point, though he deserved it.”
Auron stood and clapped his hands once.
“Alright. Lets have a celebration dinner, my treat, don't worry I have these chef. And after that, we leave for your pack. I need a change of scenery anyway. Time to bring in the uncle loving for the future alpha slash blueberry."
Kale pumped a fist.
“Yeah, I’m making a toast.”
“You are not making a toast,” Aurora and I said at the same time.
He grinned wickedly. “Too late.” already leaving the room.
Aurora looked up at me, her eyes shining as she bit her lips as if uncertain.
“You’re really happy?” she asked softly
I pressed a kiss to her forehead.
“Happy isn’t even the word, love. I feel like the luckiest wolf alive.”
She smiled.
And for the first time in a long time, it felt like the beginning of something peaceful instead of the start of another battle.
