Chapter 180 180
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
After a very hearty dinner, we were all seated in the large living room, I had Aurora resting against me. I suddenly became too overprotective and I know that, but I have to protect my world..
Auron leaned back on the couch, a hand on his cheek.
“Okay, important question.”
We all looked at him.
“Are we talking future alpha? Or terrifying future alpha?”
Aurora tilted her head.
“Is there a difference? That is if that is even a thing.”
Kieran nodded seriously.
“Yes. One rules with strategy. The other rules with emotional damage.”
I pointed at him, shaking my head.
“You are abso-fucking-lutely not mentoring my child.”
“Too late. I already volunteered.” he deadpanned.
Aurora stood up and walked over to Kieran, he watched her with confusion and concern. She sent and suddenly flicked him on the forehead.
“You will teach our child manners.”
He looked personally offended as he rubbed his forehead.
“Manners? I have manners, where is all these coming from?”
Sge walked back to me abd settled again.
“You threatened to fistfight my brother over a godparent title.”
“That was ceremonial.”
Auron nodded thoughtfully. “It did feel ceremonial.”
There was a comfortable silence then.
I cleared my throat. “We’ll need to prepare and also tell our friends.” I thought of how Mirabel and her brothers will be happy to hear the news.
"Definitely." She squeezed my hand, "Mirabel will be so happy, she might even fight for the godparent title."
Kieran straightened like a soldier receiving orders. “Let her try. Now what are you preparing for? Training schedule?”
“No,” Aurora deadpanned. “A nursery.”
The room went quiet.
“A nursery?” I repeated.
“Yes. In the pack house. And before any of you argue, it’s happening. And you guys are gonna help do it. Afterall, you volunteered.”
Kale grinned.
“Oh this I have to see. Big bad alphas assembling cribs.”
Aurora eyed him. “You’re building it too. I hope you guys are good with your hands. Lucian?"
All of us blinked.
“Of course we are. I am.” I said immediately, even though I had never built anything in my life.
Kieran cracked his knuckles.
“How hard can it be?”
Kieran stared at him.
“You once broke a chair trying to sit down, I remember.”
“That chair was weak.” he looked away defensively. “I call painting duty,” he announced.
“I call supervising,” Auron added.
“You are not supervising anything,” Kieran said flatly.
Aurora looked up at me through the mind link.
'You’re smiling.'
'I know,' I replied. 'I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy.'
She squeezed my hand. I was happy for this new chapter in our lives. Hopefully, it stays as happy as this.
Two days later, we were back at the pack with Auron determined to stay for long this time. I had to scope Griffin for holding back such an important information from me. Of course, he wasn't sorry and said it was better I was mad at him than for Aurora to be mad at him. I had no choice but to agree with him. I also made sure I told our friends, they were so ecstatic and couldn't wait to find time out of their schedule to come see us. Like Aurora said, Mirabel says she wants to compete for the god mother title. Kieran still says no way. We'll see when they get here. But for now, we were facing a predicament....
“This is backwards.”
“It is not backwards.”
“Kieran, the picture literally shows the smiling baby facing outward, not toward the wall.”
“The baby needs time to reflect.”
"On what?"
Aurora was sitting on a comfortable couch with a bowl of sliced apples, watching five grown, powerful wolves argue over a crib like it was a war strategy.
I was holding the instruction manual upside down. Auron had sawdust in his hair, Kale had paint on his face, Griffin couldn't help glaring daggers at me and Kieran had somehow managed to assemble the drawer… inside the crib. Mom and Talia had gone out for a while, something about getting more pregnancy books. So, I'm keeping tabs on Aurora.
She giggled, shaking her head as she munched on her apple slice.
“I love this,” she said softly.
I looked over at her instantly.
“Are you uncomfortable? Do you need water? More pillows? Different apples? Organic apples? Alpha apples?”
She blinked at me.
“Alpha apples?”
“Yes.", I deadpanned. "The strongest apples in the orchard.”
Kale dropped the paintbrush laughing.
Auron pinched the bridge of his nose. “He’s been like this all morning.”
"She tried to lift a plank of wood,” I defended myself.
"I want trying to help." She threw her hands up.
“It weighed two pounds.” Griffin countered.
“She’s pregnant!” I yelled. It was normal for me as an alpha to get worried over little things so they are the ones not getting it.
Aurora stood up, five heads snapped toward her, I moved towards her immediately.
“Don’t. Move.” I pointed at the couch. “Just sit down. I’ll carry you.”
She stared at me.
“…Lucian.”
“Yes, my love?” I leaned in.
“I stood up to pee.”
Kieran lost it and completely doubled over laughing.
I glared at him.
“You will not mock the father of the blueberry.”
Her eyes sparkled even though she sounded fed up.
“Are we still calling the baby blueberry?”
“Yes.”
Auron nodded solemnly.
“Until further notice.”
Kale raised a hand. “Motion passed. You really have np choice right now.”
She shook her head, smiling.
“You’re all insane.”
“Correct,” Griffin said proudly. “But we are an organized bunch of insanity.”
