Chapter 49 Marcus Designs Interrogation of Esme
Vitality Pills!
Alexander had of course heard of Vitality Pills before!
When Shadow Syndicate tried to use the Howard Group's name to acquire the organization behind Vitality Pills, all their messages went nowhere, which showed that the power behind Vitality Pills wasn't something ordinary people could imagine.
"How did this thing end up in Felix's medicine!"
Annie pulled up the surveillance footage from Felix's hospital room.
Felix's eyes went wide when he saw it!
"When did you install surveillance in my room behind my back? Didn't I tell you not to!"
Alexander's expression was calm, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"I did it for your safety."
"I don't care! I'm eighty-six years old, don't I get any privacy? This is violating citizens' legal rights, I'm going to sue you!"
Alexander ignored Felix's protests and opened the surveillance footage.
"It really was medicine delivered by Esme. How would she have this kind of thing?"
Marcus's expression also looked terrible.
Esme was still a member of the Windsor family. If word got out that someone from the Windsor family had tampered with Felix's medicine, the entire Windsor family would have no face to show the Howard family!
"Catherine, what exactly is this stuff for?"
"It's a drug from the black market in Sunhaven Isles. Very expensive. It briefly gives people the illusion of being strong and healthy, but long-term use makes people confused and even dependent on it. Once you stop taking it, you'll die suddenly. Last time Mr. Howard also passed out because Vitality Pills reacted badly with his other medications."

Catherine was silent for a moment.

Felix looked smug.

"My fiancée is Catherine. If you can't even recognize people correctly, you don't need to stay with the Howard family anymore! Annie, replace everyone in my grandfather's room!"
The group of caregivers knew they'd messed up and Alexander definitely wouldn't let them off, but they really couldn't bear to give up the high nursing fees the Howard family paid. They all looked pleadingly at Catherine.
Catherine said flatly, "You took money from Esme, didn't you?"
"No! We're being wrongly accused! Since we took Mr. Howard's money, how could we possibly take Esme's money?"
Catherine pointed at the video. "At one minute thirty seconds in the video, Esme handed you a card."
Annie quickly rewound the video, and sure enough, they saw Esme holding a bank card and handing it to the caregiver!

Felix didn't care at all. "How many batches of people have we gone through now? If you ask me, you can't prevent everything, so just stop trying! Let me just leave the hospital!"
Alexander was silent.
The previous medical staff had problems because Felix and Marcus wanted to use themselves as bait to fish out what bad people were still hiding in the hospital.
They didn't expect that even after changing the medical staff once, there were still problems with Felix's medicine!
Marcus said apologetically, "Felix, this is our fault. Our family will definitely give you an explanation!"
"No problem, no problem. Just have Catherine marry over quickly and we're good. Wait, Esme added drugs to my medicine, why not yours?"
Marcus smiled mysteriously.
"I only take medicine that Catherine prescribes for me. Even if Gavin prescribed it, I won't take it."
Felix was speechless.
Fine, you're the smart one, huh!
Marcus took out his own pill box, looking quite proud. "These are what Catherine prescribed for me. Catherine brings them to me every day, never more than needed. These are from the hospital - I haven't touched a single one."
Catherine crouched down and picked up the pill box.
"There's Vitality Pills here too, but my grandfather hasn't taken a single one."

"I want Catherine to prescribe my medicine too! Catherine, you can't play favorites. I'm still waiting to see you two get married!"
Alexander's eyes also held hope and pleading. "Catherine, I don't trust medicine that you haven't prescribed. My grandfather's medicine has had problems several times now, I really feel terrible about it."
Catherine nodded. "Okay, from now on I'll deliver it together with my grandfather's medicine. But let me say upfront, the medicine I prescribe isn't as sweet as Vitality Pills - it tastes bitter."
Felix's face darkened. How did Catherine know that he always took Vitality Pills because they were sweet!

Catherine looked at the Vitality Pills in her hand and said, "I'd like to take these to examine the ingredients."
Marcus and Felix quickly waved their hands, acting like this wasn't anything good anyway.
"Take them, take them. If you don't take this stuff, I wouldn't dare keep it around!"
Marcus thought for a moment. "Esme doesn't have nearly enough money to buy Vitality Pills. This pile of stuff isn't cheap."
"Lila has quite a bit too, and it looks like she's been taking it for a while."
Marcus nodded, a hint of cunning in his eyes.
"Gavin already told me about it, I just didn't expect Felix and I would have this stuff too. Catherine, it's not convenient for me to get involved in this. You and Alexander should investigate it together. Our family needs to give Felix a proper explanation!"
Catherine was silent.
She could investigate this herself, no need to do it together with Alexander.
Felix also looked at Catherine hopefully. "Catherine, I'm counting on you for this. You saved me once, you wouldn't want to see me collapse again, right? That would be such a waste of all your hard work!"
Marcus knew from last time that Catherine had completed the surgery all by herself, and he felt both proud and heartbroken!

Marcus called Esme in front of everyone.

"Why are you calling me? Do you miss me? I'll come to the hospital to see you right away!"
"Don't come. I'm just asking you, what medicine did you give Felix? Felix is in the ICU being resuscitated now, and the Howard family is demanding I hand someone over.
