Chapter 16 Is it bad for a baby to eat spicy food?

"Ashley, this person seems a bit odd. I didn't know him before, who would have thought that he would say such things?

Amelia actually thinks that the guy doesn't deserve Ashley's affection. He used Ashley to meet up with her, it's amazing what he came up with. If it weren't for Ashley, Amelia really wanted to pick up a glass of water and splash it in his face.

Ashley sighed and slumped against Amelia, as if she had no bones, expressing her hurt.

"Amelia, do you think I have a natural lack of luck in love? Why do I always fall for someone who is trash? I must have been a playboy in my past life and now I'm paying for it in this life."

Amelia felt slightly relieved to see Ashley still able to joke around. She knew that the recent incident wouldn't affect their relationship, but Ashley would still feel sad. Amelia tried to comfort her.

"Ashley, shall we turn our sadness into an appetite?"

Ashley straightened up immediately, her eyes shining as she nodded at Amelia.

"Yes, let's finish this large basin of Lobster and eat until we're stuffed."

The two friends sat down together, and when Amelia was about to start eating, she noticed Damien standing beside her, looking down at her.

Amelia squinted and smiled at Damien.

"Mr. Kingsley, why don't you sit down and eat too? You must not have eaten yet, it's really delicious. It's even better than grilled fish."

Damien's face darkened slightly, and he leaned down to whisper in Amelia's ear.

"If you want our baby to be covered in rashes after being born, then go ahead and eat."

Amelia's face turned pale, and she stood up in shock.

"Really? Are you... are you lying to me?"

Damien looked at her.

"Why don't you check?"

Amelia responded with an "oh" and actually took out her phone to check. Ashley had already peeled several Lobster and put them in Amelia's plate. Seeing her with the phone, Ashley urged her to start eating.

She also didn't forget to invite Damien.

Damien only said that he didn't like to eat Lobster, and Ashley didn't force him. After all, they weren't familiar with each other, and he was Amelia's boss. She was afraid of saying the wrong thing and offending him, leading to him making things difficult for Amelia.

"Amelia, don't play with your phone at this time. Let's eat quickly and order another round of beer to enjoy."

When she actually called the waiter to order beer, Amelia quickly stopped her.

"Don't, Ashley, my stomach doesn't feel well, I can't eat anything spicy, and I can't drink alcohol. You can finish it all by yourself."

Ashley frowned.

"Your stomach doesn't feel well? Is it hurting?"

As she said that, she took off her gloves and was about to touch Amelia's stomach. Damien panicked and pulled Amelia up, but she wasn't stable and fell into his arms. He held her naturally and said to Ashley.

"She's not feeling well, I'll take her back to rest. She can't eat any of this, you can continue eating."

Ashley nodded and glanced, "Oops, this is because of not eating breakfast in the morning. In the future, you must be more careful. Now that you're working, don't skip breakfast." Ashley said.

As for what Damien said earlier about 2000 dollars not being enough for Amelia to have a good meal, Ashley didn't take it seriously at all. She thought Damien was just saying that to mock Anthony.

It wasn't until Damien took Amelia away that Ashley muttered to herself.

"Why does the employee need the boss to take them back? And Amelia is just Mr. Kingsley's employee, why did he come after her? What does the boss have nothing better to do?"

Amelia sat in Damien's car, feeling quite anxious. She had just checked and found out that if a pregnant mother eats too much spicy food, the baby may have bad skin and acne.

"Mr. Kingsley, do you think... our baby will be okay?" Amelia asked, looking at Damien through the rearview mirror.

"What do you think?" Damien replied.

Amelia blamed herself, wondering what she would do if she had really caused harm to the baby.

"I... I only ate one, and it wasn't very spicy. Will it affect the baby?" Amelia asked nervously.

Seeing the regretful look on the young girl's face, Damien inexplicably felt a sense of joy. She felt guilty and afraid of causing harm to the child, which showed that she truly loved the baby, their baby.

Since Damien didn't say anything, Amelia became even more scared.

"Mr. Kingsley, how about we go to the hospital and ask the doctor if there's any remedy or medicine that can help?" Amelia suggested seriously.

Seeing her earnest expression, Damien couldn't help but reach out and pat her head.

"Did you really only eat one small lobster?" Damien asked.

Amelia nodded quickly.

"Yes, just one."

Worried that Damien wouldn't believe her, she even leaned over and exhaled towards Damien's face.

"Smell it, there's no taste of lobster in my mouth. I really only ate one."

The unique fragrance of a young girl entered Damien's nostrils. Amelia's eyes were innocent and focused, her lips were red and vibrant, and perhaps due to the spiciness she had eaten. Damien felt his heart uncontrollably racing, as if he was being enchanted.

He had a strong desire to lower his head and taste that vibrant flavor.

Suddenly, an annoying horn sound came from behind, snapping Damien out of his trance. He sat up straight and looked straight ahead, filled with frustration.

He realized that his self-control seemed to be constantly deteriorating. Especially when faced with Amelia, he sometimes felt like he could turn into a beast at any moment.

Amelia was still confused, and turned to look at the car behind her. She spoke again.

"Mr. Kingsley, I really only ate one. Should we go to the hospital?"

Damien held the steering wheel and smiled.

"This time, the baby should forgive you, after all, it's your first time being a mother. But next time, you should be more careful. Can you bear it for the sake of the baby?"

"Mr. Kingsley, even though I'm a first-time mother, I'm not completely clueless, you know. The baby is still tiny, he has no idea that I've eaten something spicy."

Damien turned his head to look at her.

"I'll remember it for the baby, and I'll tell him when he's born."

Amelia's gaze dimmed slightly. She knew that she would leave after the baby was born, and even if she told him, the baby wouldn't remember her.

Damien drove the car, not understanding why Amelia suddenly became downcast. Seeing the sadness in her eyes, he found it somewhat uncomfortable and spoke up.

"If you're worried that the baby will be angry at you, then you have to behave now and listen."

Amelia softly murmured in agreement.

The only thing she could do for the baby was to be obedient during these nine months, providing him with nourishment to ensure he grew up healthy.
