Chapter 45 Chapter 45) Something wrong.
“Pris-”.
“Don't you dare, Jonathan”. Alejandro warned him with darkened eyes after he wanted to call Priscilla by her name without including the title, ‘Luna’.
The thing was, after he heard what Priscilla had said to Doctor Jonathan, he was not pleased with it because he felt that she was directly rejecting him as her husband. But again, he did not understand why he was bothered about it.
Why did he suddenly seem to care?
What has really happened to him?
That was what he was trying to understand, but until then, he could not wait to leave the room and keep his distance from her, because staying with her was doing something to him.
‘Ack’.
The hairs on Jonathan's arms stood up, and he immediately avoided eye contact after his eyes met with Alejandro’s gaze.
He understood what Alejandro meant by the warning, and because he couldn't risk offending him, he had to disobey Priscilla’s order.
By the time Priscilla turned to stare at Alejandro with a confused expression on her face, that was when Alejandro said to Jonathan with a flat tone, “Demira is gone. I want you to tell me what went wrong”.
Jonathan grew confused by what Alejandro said to him, but he couldn't dare to ask him what he meant by that.
Instead, he sought to understand the situation using his own understanding.
‘Luna Demira is gone. So, what is happening right now is that her wolf, Luna Priscilla, who is in control, did not mean to be in control?’. He tried to decode it, but that only made him feel very confused.
To the point he had to ask Priscilla, saying, “Can you please explain the whole situation to me, Luna Priscil-?”.
“Demira had an outburst of emotions after she woke up this morning, and then, she fainted”.
“So did I”.
“But by the time my eyes opened once more, I saw that I was the one in control. And Demira, I couldn't feel her anymore. It was as if she had just disappeared into thin air”. Priscilla explained without pausing to breathe.
She did not even allow him to finish talking before she explained everything to him.
That was how desperate she was.
And if he was not able to do anything to help her, she was going to go to another person who knew the solution to her problem.
“Well? Say something. Do something about it. Why are you just staring at me?”. She asked Jonathan, who was staring at her with a stunned look on his face, due to how fast her lips moved at the moment she explained the entire situation to him.
He shook his head after his mind and his focus returned to reality.
But, his face turned pale that second, and seeing that, Priscilla felt anxious because she was able to predict what was wrong.
“What is it? Speak”. Alejandro ordered him, as he also noticed the pale look on his face.
With a heavy sigh, Jonathan told them the truth, “I am sorry, but I don't know what to do, Lycan King Alejandro. I have never heard of this kind of incident before”.
He continued to say, with his eyes fixed on Priscilla, “If anyone could treat you, it is the werewolf mystics”.
Priscilla’s eyes perked with curiosity as she heard what Jonathan said to her.
She did not waste a minute and asked him, “Well, go and bring one of them to me. And quick. Please”.
It made Jonathan’s heart bleed after she pleaded with him, especially with the way her eyes were getting red by the second, like someone who was on the verge of crying.
“I-”. He tried to say something, but did not know how to say it, because he was certain that it was only going to break her more than her situation already did.
“Aren't you a member of the werewolf tribe? How are you not aware that the mystics stopped existing two hundred years ago? And even when they existed, there were very few of them, and so, it was nearly impossible to find one. Are you so dumb?”. Alejandro said to her in place of Jonathan, who was in conflict with himself.
He did not mean to be cold to her, but that was how he was. That was his nature.
(Thud)
Priscilla stared at Alejandro and was speechless after listening to what he said to her.
Before she knew it, she returned to feeling helpless and weak.
“Werewolf mystics? Almost impossible to find one of them?”. She muttered and wanted to laugh at herself. Today was the first time she had ever heard of that name.
So, how was she supposed to know that it was hard to locate any of them?
‘I am tired’. She thought and laid down on the bed, before shutting her eyes.
She did not say any other word. Neither did she care whether both of them stood still and were staring at her.
Not when her heart was bitter and weeping. With Demira nowhere to be found, did that mean she was going to be stuck being in control of both bodies?
Did that mean Demira was never going to return to her without the help of a mystic?
If that was so, then what was the point of being alive?
She was not a fool though, as there was no way she was going to get buried six feet under without taking Kayson, Elora and Alejandro with her.
‘What’s wrong with her? How dare she sleep in my presence?’. Alejandro thought, but as he reached forward to grab her hand, he hesitated and changed his mind midair. “You are not worth my time”.
He left the room after he coldly said that to her, thus giving Jonathan the room to sigh in relief, as the tension in his entire body began to disperse. The coldness in his body gradually began to stop, and he could finally breathe well.
“Luna Priscilla”. He called, but she did not answer him.
He was completely ignored by her.
Since he couldn't do anything to help her, why should she bother wasting her breath on him?
As if he knew why she was ignoring him, he still went ahead and said to her, “There was this tale my grandmother used to tell me when I was a child. As long as you have a pure heart, you will certainly meet a mystic in this lifetime”.
Priscilla didn't say anything even after hearing what he said to her.
To her, it was pointless and was of no use.
A tale like that was a false hope which was never going to happen.
A pure heart? What was that?
Who in the world has a pure heart?
Definitely no one.
