Chapter 48

Kaylee started to panic as she watched Rhiannon take her bag and stand up ready to leave.

“Where are you going?” she asked arrogantly as she blocked Rhiannon’s way.

“What does it have to do with you? How does it concern you?” Rhiannon replied coldly as she pushed the latter away as she didn’t want to deal with her anymore.

“Rhiannon, you better stay put, turn around, and come back here!” Kaylee shouted as she stabilized herself.

Since she was handcuffed, it was hard for her to stabilize herself when she was pushed.

Rhiannon chuckled at her words and turned around to look at her.

“My dear half-sister or should I call you my father’s bastard child? Why can’t you open your eyes or even use your brain in the right way?” Rhiannon asked as she found everything and Kaylee still commanding her funny.

“I am not a bastard!” Kaylee shouted as she wished to tear Rhiannon apart.

Rhiannon rolled her eyes at her words but didn’t bother to argue with her on that.

“Till now you don’t know that you have no right to command me into doing anything for you? Or are you just trying to play dumb and stupid?” Rhiannon asked sharply causing Kaylee to glare at her with hatred.

“You can look at me in hatred but you should be aware of one thing. You tried to kill me once and you didn’t succeed. Even death refused me at that time, do you think that after that, I will die easily? Even if I die, I will make sure that I have ruined you! If possible, I wish that you could die in a fire just the way you wanted to burn me,” Rhiannon said causing Kaylee’s face to turn pale.

“You can’t kill me! If you do, you will be locked up,” Kaylee said as she stammered.

“Oh? Then why didn’t you know that if you can kill me you won’t go to jail?” Rhiannon asked as she raised her eyebrows.

Kaylee didn’t respond to her even though she already had an answer causing Rhiannon to chuckle but she didn’t mind her silence at all.

“You thought that wouldn’t happen since no one would know what happened, right? And if they knew, so what? You had the money and company in your hands thus you would bribe them or even worse kill the witnesses, am I right?” Rhiannon asked.

Kaylee's tanned face turned more pale and she looked so ugly.

“If you thought of that, why can’t I? After all, I have learned everything from how to deal with my enemies to how to solve everything that blocks my way. As far as I know, I have more power than you have. More connections than you have seen my mother knew a lot of people who still talk to me. If you could have escaped and been punished for killing me and you didn’t have much power and connection, why won’t I be able to escape also with everything that I got?” Rhiannon explained and asked.

Kaylee shook her head vigorously as she couldn’t accept the fact that she would die in Rhiannon’s hands.

“No! You can’t kill me!” Kaylee said as she shook her head causing Rhiannon to purse her lips as she wondered whether the latter was indeed going crazy as she behaved or not.

“Kill you? Do you think that you are worth dying in my hands?” Rhianon asked with a scoff making Kaylee stop shivering and shaking her head and stare at her with wide open.

Seeing this, Rhiannon let out a smile before shaking her head.

“Are you worthy of dying in my hands? After all, you are just a worthless piece of shit. I don’t think that you are worth dying in my hands but that doesn’t mean that I can’t have second chances about it or employ someone to do the dirty work for me! I might as well use them as the scapegoat if I am taken to court for your murder!” Rhiannon said as she smiled evilly.

The smile was enough to make Kaylee take steps back. She clenched her hands into her fist as she hated herself for being so weak that she could even take steps back the cause of fear.

She kept telling herself that she wasn’t afraid of Rhiannon and Rhiannon was the one who was really afraid of her.

She also regretted not doing as Rhiannon had just said. She thought that if she had employed someone to do the dirty work for her and kill Rhiannon, maybe Rhiannon wouldn’t be standing in front of her currently. This caused her to admit that she was indeed foolish and wasn’t as clever as Rhiannon.

“I can be more lenient and even forgive you for what you did. If I do that, you might not die in fire,” Rhiannon said causing Kaylee’s eyes to brighten up.

“Really? You aren’t lying to me, right?” Kaylee asked hopefully causing Rhiannon to snicker silently.

“Of course, why should I lie to you? Have I ever lied to you since we were kids?” Rhiannon asked innocently but in her heart, she regretted everything she had done in the past.

Sometimes, she even hated her old self when she remembered how much she had suffered just because she wanted to share the love Kaylee received from her parents.

When she was little, she understood that she would never see her mother ever again. She was always jealous of Kaylee having her mother by her side thus as time passed, she worked hard to get Mrs Clark’s and her father’s love. Because of that, she tolerated Kaylee, gave her everything she wanted, befriended her, and followed her everywhere afraid that she might miss something.

Kaylee was stunned by her words. After a while, she shook her head as she remembered that Rhiannon never lied to her even once.

“What should I do so as not to die in the fire?” Kaylee asked as she gritted her teeth.

She regretted losing her control when she saw Rhiannon. After all, their agenda was to convince Rhiannon to drop the charges but after she walked in, she seemed to forget what she wanted and started arguing with the latter causing her to lose the best opportunity.

Now, she had to do what Rhiannon wanted so as not to kill her instead of doing what Rhiannon wanted to get out of prison.

Rhiannon wanted to laugh loudly when she saw how humble the latter was but she controlled herself.

“It's just a simple thing and I am sure that you will be able to do it,” Rhiannon said with a smile on her face.

Although she said it was simple, Kaylee didn’t think it was simple at all as Rhiannon wouldn’t let such a golden opportunity go to waste.

Also, from the smile on her face, Kaylee felt a chill running down her spine as she glanced at it. She didn’t understand what was really happening to her or why she was she was so afraid of Rhiannon. What bothered her the most was knowing when Rhiannon changed and became such a terrifying person

She had heard from her mother that Rhiannon’s mother always had a cold expression on her face and that’s why their father cheated on his wife.

“What is it?” she asked after gulping and convinced her that she had to hear what Rhiannon had in mind before turning down the offer as she didn’t want to offer herself to the latter.

“It’s quite simple. Tell me where you are hiding my family’s heirloom,” Rhiannon said causing Kaylee to be speechless.

She had thought that Rhiannon would ask her to do such a difficult or that it may ruin her life. She never expected that.

“What?” Kaylee asked in disbelief.

“Tell me where my jewels are and I will not come after you for what you did,” Rhiannon said coldly causing Kaylee to be speechless.

‘Is the deal this good? Or is she planning something else against me?’ Kaylee asked herself as she found it hard to believe Rhiannon, especially after knowing how much Rhiannon hated her for trying to kill her.

“I am not as despicable as you are. Neither am I really interested in your life. What I want the most is to get my family’s heirloom and also to get revenge,” Rhiannon said coldly the word revenge caused Kaylee to be silent and confused.

“What do you mean when you say that you are so interested in revenge but at the same time claim that you don’t want my life? Rhiannon, do you think that I am too easy to fool?” Kaylee asked angrily as she couldn’t believe that she had almost been tricked.

Rhiannon frowned as she couldn’t understand what she meant and why she was angry but after thinking through her previous words she understood and shook her head.

“You have misunderstood something. Yes, I am interested in revenge but at the same time, I don’t want my hands to be covered with blood. Thus, if there is any other way to solve all these then I would,” Rhiannon explained.

‘What a fool. If I were her, I would have killed my enemy so that she couldn’t get in my way in the future but sadly. Guess she is giving me a chance to take everything from her once more,’ Kaylee said inwardly as a smug formed on her face.

“Fine. I will tell you where it is as long as you keep your promise of not killing me or burning me,” Kaylee said causing Rhiannon to nod her head.

“I promise but first you have to tell me where you are hiding them. After I find them and retrieve them, I will keep my promise but if I don’t find them where you will tell me and find out that you were playing tricks on me, you will regret it for a moment before you vanish from this world completely,” Rhiannon said coldly causing Kaylee to panic and become hesitant.
