“Alpha Anton please!” Kyra choked out as she sat up in his arms. Her eyes darted around to check for maids or anyone. There were guards around and she felt shame fill her. “What are you doing?” She asked him, trying hard not to scream.

His response was still total silence as he continued to move in the direction opposite the east wing. She ducked her head, biting it in his chest and making sure to keep it there when they moved past a few men who were standing guard. She just knew that this would be the topic of the whole palace tomorrow.

Anton could be taking her to a number of places in the palace, but her mind kept telling her that it was his room she was being carried off to and her mind was correct!

He took her into his room and tossed her on the bed, making her bounce lightly. She placed her hands on it in a bid to stabilize herself as she sat up to glare at the man who was standing tall and proud over her like he owned the world. Gosh! He was so annoying!

“Where is this place, Alpha?” She asked as she took in the room. She has a vague idea that it was his room, but she still refused to believe that her mind was correct ans that would really bring her into his personal bedroom just like that and even made her sit on his bed.

“You're in my room now. You have to behave,” he said simply as he angled his face towards her, while giving a tiny smile that looked a little evil.

Kyra’s breath clogged up in her throat as she could hear a hidden meaning in his words. The goddess knew that there was no way she could argue with the fact that she was in his room and he could do anything to her.

And, the fact he said she was in his room out loud and had to behave made her feel some type of way she could not understand. Her eyes swept around the room, and she could see that everything was black. The only thing white were the ceilings which had a form of wolf design and the chandelier.

The room was too dark for someone like her, who loved bright colors. A shiver racked through her small frame on the bed.

Kyra watched as Alpha Anton moved from the bed to pick up something, then he came back to her, and knelt down before placing a first aid box in front of them.

“I'm going to clean your wound,” he said calmly.

Kyra's eyes went wild in shock. “No, you're the Alpha of the pack and I could ask Cynthia to help me to do it.” This was the second time he was kneeling before her and it was to take care of her wound.

What was wrong with the man, for goodness’s sake? Why was he not acting to her the same way he acted around others? He was treating her so well, like she was a soft porcelain doll he did not want to hurt.

She could still remember how he did not explain anything of what happened in the carriage to his subjects but snapped at them to check on the horses and take him home. Why was she, someone whom he bought with money, not being treated like or even worse than them?

He placed a finger against her lips stopping her next words. “You're not going to say anything again. Let me take care of you because I caused this," He said firmly.

Just like that, he applied opened the box and brought out a bottle. He twisted the cap open and poured some of the liquid on his palm before reaching out and applying the cool ointment against her cheeks.

Her heart sped with every single contact and stroke of his hand on her bruised skin. It made her feel so uncomfortable and warm at the same time. It was almost like he was showing her love and taking care of her in ways that no one has ever find before and ….

'Don't forget your place,' her wolf chose that time to whisper to her inside her head, ruining her mood but also effectively making her snap back to her senses.

'Even if I wished to forget, I always have you to remind me of it,' she gritted out, silently cursing her wolf.

‘I’m just trying to protect us. We can’t keep being foolish forever!’ Her wolf snapped at hee before retreating by herself.

Alpha Anton leaned closer to me, making Kyra lean back a little. “Why didn't you tell her anything?” He asked suddenly.

It took a moment for Kyra to realize that he was referring to Roselyn again. She did not want them to broach this topic as she remembered that she nearly died because of it, today, but she still needed to answer him.

She shrugged her stiff shoulders. “In our society, you have to hold your tongue to someone who is superior to speak. It's the price one has to pay sometimes for being at the bottom of the hierarchy. You have to swallow your pain and nod your head.”

He slowly took his hand off her face to catch and play with the strand of her hair that escaped from the band that was used to hold it together.

"You speak as if you’ve been like this your whole life; swallowing your pain and bowing your head to others when you are the first daughter of your father. How was life at your father’s pack?” He sounded curious.

Kyra was already shaking her head slowly before he completed his question. There was no way she was going to be telling him about her life back at her father’s pack. She would not be able to talk about it without crying, and she was uncomfortable about telling an outsider. Her father might be a bad man, but no way would she bring him out like that.

“My fathers trained me about everything, so I know how to behave in every situation.” She lied through her teeth. Her father was the one who taught her, yes, but not in the way that alpha Anton would think with how she placed her statement.

“This is not your father’s pack anymore. You would have to learn how to speak up and fight when necessary."

He was talking about this again; fighting for herself. He had mentioned that she was now part of his pack and as such, she needed to learn how to start fighting for herself because he does not tolerate weakness.

Her not returning Roselyn’s slap when he asked her too was what made his wolf angry that it took over and nearly killed her by releasing his alpha’s energy.

Kyra did not really want any of this. She did not have the strength and power for society. She just wanted to live quietly until she gave birth, then she’ll focus on raising and taking care of her baby.

"Didn't you understand that I’m no longer in the same position I used to be at in my fathers pack?”

She did not have the title of an alpha’s daughter anymore. She was nothing short of a traitor to her people because she followed and got pregnant for Tristan and now, she was a slave right here after being sold to him.

The outside world might not know how she was treated back at home, but everyone within the four walls of her father's gigantic palace knew.

“You want me to give you a position here?”
