Chapter 109 Suspension!!!
Chapter 109 Suspension!!!
Asher’s POV
My body went rigid when we both heard the clicks open and I was frozen, not knowing what to do next. But that very second, Roman pushed me off and raised his fist high, like he was about to punch me.
My body reacted quicker than I expected as I raised my fist as well, ready to punch him. The door swung open before any fist could come down and the dean walked in, a look of exasperation on his face.
“That’s it. Both of you, suspension!” He yelled and I froze, unable to believe my ears.
Did he just say… suspension?
“You can’t do that… he attacked me first!” Roman pleaded as he straightened up and started to beg the dean, making me blink in confusion.
He was so genuine that I thought he really meant it.
When he shot me a look, I got into character immediately as well and started to plead with the dean, even trying to attack Roman to show he was the “one” messing with me.
“Silence.” He finally ordered and my lips thinned. “Your fathers are prominent coaches of the university. You have a game in three weeks, don’t you?”
Crap, we actually have an upcoming game. I was so focused on NHL and Kieran that I absolutely forgot all about it.
“Sorry, Dean.” I murmured and Roman did the same, our heads bowed like we actually regretted our actions. The funny thing was… we didn’t.
“I was going to let you go because of your fathers but you are obviously not ready to change. Your fathers are the only reasons I'm not expelling you both yet.” He continued and my heart skipped. “You both are suspended from the school premises for the next fourteen days. Do not return until you have learned your lessons.”
“But Dean—”
“Be grateful I'm not benching you for the whole season.” He cut me off and I bit down on my tongue immediately. “Reflect on your mistakes and if after two weeks, you both are still acting crazy, I won't hesitate to expel you. Understood?”
“Yes, Dean.” We chorused with fallen faces and sad sighs while he gestured for us to leave.
“I don’t want to find you fighting or lurking around the school premises in the next one hour. Your fathers will be informed as soon as possible.” He ordered with one last glare and then turned to leave, muttering disappointed words under his breath as he returned to his office.
I was literally buzzing with excitement even as both of us stood there, unmoving. It actually worked.
I was so filled with adrenaline that I barely felt pain in my lower back or leg anymore. I wanted to scream but I couldn't.
I barely turned to glance at Roman as I made my way back to the dorm because I would definitely break character. Roman followed behind me and I couldn't help but notice the random stares we got from other players who walked past.
It seemed that the news of our fight had spread, and soon, everyone would be aware that we got suspended. Including our parents.
I hurried my steps and rushed into our dorm, my heart still pounding harshly as I leaned against the wall for support. The door opened and closed with Roman stepping in and for a whole minute, we didn't move or say a word.
And then we both moved at the same time, screaming silently as I threw myself in his arms.
“You are a fucking genius, baby, I can’t believe it fucking worked!” Roman whispered in excitement as he kissed all over my face and I couldn't help but giggle.
“Your last-minute thinking made it easier! I literally didn’t know what to do when the door was opening but you saved the day!” I muttered happily as he hugged me even tighter but carefully avoided my lower back.
“Two whole weeks to ourselves. Fuck, this is lovely. You’re a genius, love.” He whispered once again as he kissed my temple and I was smiling so wide that my cheeks were beginning to hurt.
We were actually jubilating that we got suspended… What the fuck happened to us?
“Right, we gotta leave immediately.” I said as I pulled away and he looked at me in confusion. “If your dad and my dad find out that we got suspended, they will try to separate us. Probably to cause more conflict, probably for training, I don't know. If we get separated, then what is the point of everything?”
“Fuck, you’re right. Let’s pack quickly—”
“There’s no time.” I stopped him as I searched the drawers for the room’s keys. “By now, they would have found out. We gotta go, now.”
Roman knew I was right so he barely had time to argue as I handed him the keys. He gave me a soft kiss on the lips, told me to wait for him in a cab and then I walked out.
I avoided every single look that came my way and left the university, my heart pounding harshly in my chest. When I boarded the cab and sat in, I couldn't help but be worried. Two minutes passed and he wasn’t out.
Then five minutes. When ten minutes passed and he still wasn’t out, my heart sank into my stomach. He was probably already caught and wouldn’t be able to make it.
I was just about to step out of the cab when his figure rushed out of the building and right into the cab without pausing to catch his breath.
“Ro?”
“Let’s go.” He said to the already annoyed driver and he hit the road immediately, making me turn to Roman with relief coursing through me.
“I thought you wouldn’t make it.” I confessed, wrapping my hand around his arms and he sneered.
The adrenaline was finally settling and I could feel the aftermath of everything we just did weighing down on me.
“How would I leave you all alone? I had to grab our wallets, phones, spare keys and then hide because my dad almost caught up to me. It was insane.” He muttered and my lips curved into a smile as I placed my head on his shoulder.
He remembered the important things while all I remembered was him.
My eyes slowly closed as he talked some more but I barely caught what he was saying. I didn’t even know where we were headed, or where we were about to spend these next two weeks.
But I trusted Roman too much to worry about anything. So when sleep came, I let it take me.
When my eyes slowly opened again, I blinked at the unfamiliar ceiling above me as my brows furrowed slightly.
“Ro?” I called out as I slowly sat up, my head throbbing gently.
Where was this place?
