Chapter 108: A New Dormmate
Roman’s POV
This was a bad idea and I knew it. But seeing the anticipated look on my boyfriend’s face was enough to drag me out of my reluctance.
How was I supposed to go around this new day knowing that I was supposed to get into a fight with my boyfriend?
“It’s gonna work, I promise.” Asher muttered as he pulled me into a hug and I let out a sigh, my face buried in his hair. “Even if it doesn’t work out, nothing changes.”
“I don’t want to have to hurt you.” I muttered with a frown and he raised a brow at me in amusement. “I’m serious!”
“But you made me punch you the other day against my wish! It’s the same thing, isn’t it?” He murmured in displeasure and I rubbed my brows gently.
“Babe… imagine we get suspended for a week or two. We could be together without restraint and I’ll cook your favorite meals… and we’ll make love without giving a fuck…”
He had his hand on my bare chest as he spoke and I let out a shaky sigh, making him smirk. He knew how fucking easy I was.
“Fuck it, fine. But you will hit me more than I will hit you.” I whispered and kissed him deeply before he could argue.
When I pulled away, his face was flushed and his cheeks were pink, making me smile in satisfaction.
“Do you think our parents will find out our plan and ruin it?”
“That is why we won’t do it where they are.” He whispered and my brows raised. “What do you say about fighting right in front of the dean’s office? He has anger issues after all and he has the upper hand anyway.”
“You sneaky little thing. That is so fucking smart.” I muttered and he grinned. “What’s the plan?”
A few minutes later, I was walking out of the room with a feigned limp in my steps and a twisted expression of pain on my face.
I made my way towards the dean’s office but just as I rounded the corner, I bumped into Carter whose eyes narrowed at once when he saw me.
“I finally have a chance to talk to you. Follow me—”
“Not now, Carter.” I muttered, shrugging his hand off my shoulder and trying to ignore the look on his face.
“What is wrong with you?” He asked in disbelief as he crossed his arms over his chest. “What am I supposed to believe? What happened to telling each other everything? I thought we were best friends, man.”
“Carter, don’t make this more complicated than it already is.” I muttered with an exasperated sigh. “I’ll talk to you later, alright?”
“What’s stopping you from explaining shit to me right now?”
“Fine, you wanna know what’s up? I’m getting a new dorm mate. I do not want to be with Asher anymore. Happy?” I lied with a frustrated expression on my face and he looked at me in disbelief.
I needed him to let me be so that I could get to the plan Asher and I made but damn it, he was so stubborn! I couldn’t tell him the truth here, who knew who was watching or listening.
“Roman, what are you doing? What the fuck is wrong with you? Because you saw him with Kieran? You are literally giving that asshole what he wants—”
“Then let him have him! I’m done!” I snapped as I pushed past him and continued towards the dean’s office while he followed after me.
“Roman—”
“Leave me the fuck alone, man.” I hissed in annoyance and his steps faltered, making me let out a sigh of relief.
I finally got to the dean’s office after minutes of walking while hoping that Asher was right behind me because that was the plan.
I would pretend to want to see the dean to ask for a new roommate and before I would step in, he’d punch me. Then we would get into a fight and hopefully get suspended.
If this didn’t work, I’d lose my fucking mind.
I sucked in a sharp breath as I knocked gently, my heart pounding harshly in my chest when I heard him ask me to come in.
“Asher?” I heard Carter call out and my heart flew to my throat as I pushed the door open.
The dean was sitting behind his desk, his head raising to watch me walk in but the very next second, Asher’s fists connected with my face and I stumbled back in surprise.
God, he punched hard!
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I snapped as I punched him too, sending him stumbling to the wall from the force.
I dearly hoped that wouldn’t worsen his injury but he didn’t even give me a moment to breathe as he pounced on me once again, sending me to the ground.
The door was left ajar and Carter watched us fight around like idiots, with the dean rising to his feet, a look of horror on his face.
“Both of you, stop this instant!” He bellowed in anger and Asher’s fist froze in the air, only seconds from hitting me again. “How dare you display such awful behaviour in my office?”
Carter rushed over and separated us, staring at us in disbelief as we got back to our feet.
“I’m sorry, Dean, but I would like to get a new dormmate.” I muttered, wincing from the pain I felt on my face. “He is such an asshole and—”
“You are the asshole! You fucking thief—”
“Enough!” The dean yelled once again and we went silent immediately. “Fighting in my office? Calling each other absurd names? I should expel you both this instant.”
My blood ran cold as I kept my gaze on the floor. My heart was pounding so loud that I was sure others could hear it.
“Detention, both of you. Until I reach a conclusion, both of you will be locked up in the detention room. Go, now!”
With a sigh of defeat, we both walked out of the dean’s office and made our way to the detention room, the dean right behind us. Only after we got in did he slam the door shut behind us and lock it up, making me groan in frustration.
“That did not go as planned.” I whispered, leaning against the wall and Asher walked up to me, a look of worry on his face as he touched my chin gently.
“I wanted it to look realistic, I didn't mean to punch you so hard…” He whispered too and I couldn't help but smile. “Does it hurt?”
“Of course it does.” I mumbled, watching as his face fell. “But I know what can help. What about a kiss?”
“Be serious.” He muttered with a sad expression and I tilted his chin so he was looking up at me.
“I punched you too, didn’t I?” I whispered but he still didn’t look a bit happy. “Baby, don’t overthink it.”
He was about to say a word when the door suddenly clicked open and we froze.
