Chapter 71: Trapped

Louis's pov

Brad will never learn his lesson and give up on the crown, the last night, he loses his power and ability just so he can stay alive, but now I'm curious, what is he planning this time?

And to think that I almost met my worst enemy for help a few hours ago made me a lot more angry

I stood there trying to steady my breath when I heard him say "So how do we get Adam to come here" Conrad asked

"Don't worry, he's going to come but It would have been a beautiful sight if we had his children here also" Brad said

"He would have done anything and I'm thinking the same from her too because she's his mate but you see something Conrad, that's the point," Brad said

"What's the point," Conrad asked running out of patience

"She's human and weak and we're helping him out here, if she has stayed beside him for moments longer then she would have probably led him to his doom," Brad said, I imagined what his face would look like right now.

"Please don't harm anyone, please, I'm begging you" I heard Kayla's voice, she sounded weak, hurt, and heartbroken

I couldn't hold it any longer and I felt like throwing a blow on Bras and Conrad's face right now but I felt Ethan's hands only on my shoulder, I sighed. I needed to keep calm and quiet to see if there was anything else that they were planning

"That's all you guys know how to do, Beg. I don't trust humans because I've helped a lot of them get to power and when they're there, they'll betray your trust" Brad said

"It's not like I like my brother but I wonder how he feels about having you as his mate because you guys are not trustworthy, I can offer you something right now and you would leave Ethan without thinking twice about it," Brad said.

I didn't like the way he was talking to my mate but his opinion about Humans is correct, it feels all wrong somehow I feel drawn to her more and more

"Why don't you trust humans" I heard her weak question

"I've been betrayed sweetie," Brad said

"It's so easy for you guys to break a promise, it's never hard to work away from a deal and once humans get what they want and no longer need your help, that's the end of the deal," Conrad said, I've been through this same thing before

"I can say the same for you guys too," she said and I heard a dry laugh come out from his mouth

"I know you're here brother" I heard Brad and I turned to Ethan with a bewildered expression. I looked away from him and I and Ethan entered the old abandoned house

"This place stinks of blood" I heard Brad say as soon as he caught sight of me

"How did you know," I asked with a smirk on my face

"You mate sold you off," He said and burst into laughter, I furrowed my eyebrows because I couldn't understand what he was saying

"You can't humans brother and I'd advise you to stop trying and accept your fate," He said

"Louis!" I heard Kayla's voice and a wide smile appeared on my face, I was glad to see her but the smile immediately disappeared as I saw the way she looked like

"I can see the spark, it's the mate bond... If you're interested knowing I knew that you were here, then I wouldn't mind briefing you about it" Brad said

"Kayla felt your presence, it's the mate bond younger brother, so her actions made me realize," Brad said

"Great! I can see that you've spent your remaining miserable life studying about mates just so you can bring me down" I said with a straight face

"Those miserable months have been the best I have ever had," Brad said with a smile on his face

"Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it but I won't ever forgive myself if I let you live to continue living in misery" I replied and a wide smile on Brad and Conrad's face.

"I wonder how you could lead your pack and somehow you managed to be one of the best packs when you aren't smart at all" Conrad paused and turned to Bras before continuing

"Or should we call it the mate bond," He said and a smile appeared on their faces

I turned to Ethan and decided to use our mind link to talk to each other, I shut everyone out and he did the same

"This is indeed a trap," I said

"I agree and Kayla looks very weak and it seems like they have a solid plan," Ethan said

"What do they mean," Kayla said and we all turned to look at her, Brad took a few steps closer to her

"Don't touch her Brad, don't dare" I said

"Oh, No brother, why would I touch my future sister-in-law... Maybe in the afterlife" Brad said

"You're not in Louis's pack or should I say my future pack! You can't anyway so easily here Brother!" Brad said. I hated him, Brad is the only one who manages to confuse me and most times, I don't know what do to, it was really hard growing up together but luckily he left when I was 10

"Kayla do not worry, we will get out of this and don't worry we will go back home together to the kids," I said and smoked at her

"I know we will Louis, I trust you," She said I heard Brad and Conrad scoff

"I love endings like this, this is what I define a happy ending as" Brad paused and he brought his hands close to Kayla's face and helped her tug the hair falling on her face back to the ear

"You look beautiful and it's a shame that I thought you were a woman of strength and great courage"
