Chapter 74
"Beautiful Miss Roddy, if you don't pick me, I think I'm going to be really sad."
Gian stared at Roddy with hopeful eyes.
"I hate to admit it, but he really doesn't look like a good guy."
Roddy stared at Gian with disgust.
"This young lady has pretty good judgment." Somme laughed.
"Oh, stop making fun of me, especially in front of such a pretty girl, okay?" Gian begged.
"So what's in it for us?" The men laughed as they stared at Gian.
"I'm willing to wash your stinky socks for a month, if you guys want." Gian said.
"Looks like this pretty lady has really got Gian hooked." Sim laughed.
Then he cooperatively glanced at his watch, "I'm sorry, beautiful miss, Matt gave me other work to do. I don't think I can take part in your competition."
"Oh, I think same here." Mark copied Sim and said to Roddy.
Then Nick.
"So, you too?" Roddy looked at Somme with some amusement.
Somme shook his head sincerely, "Of course not, but if everyone else leaves, I need to stay and drive for Matt."
"Well, I guess I don't have much choice besides you." Roddy sighed.
Then her eyes fell back on Susie, "I hope you'll ask me out to dinner alone soon and tell me everything."
"I will." Susie promised, patting her chest.
"Then please get in the car, beautiful miss." Gian opened the passenger door for Roddy.
"Didn't expect you to be such a gentleman, thanks." Roddy got in, then waved goodbye to Susie.
Watching Gian drive away with Roddy, Matt finally took Susie's hand and got into the black van.
"My little wildcat, I've been jealous the whole time, she was sitting so close to you."
Matt whispered in Susie's ear, like a wronged child.
"My dear Matt, I think you should remember you're a mafia member, not an underage kid." Susie said.
After finishing, as if that wasn't enough, she added, "More importantly, Roddy is my best friend, Matt, don't tell me you're even jealous of my best friend."
"Of course!" Without even hesitating, Matt admitted it directly.
"After all, she was so close to you just now, even closer than me."
"Fine." Susie sighed.
She thought she probably couldn't understand this man with normal thinking anymore.
"Oh, come on, Matt, stop showing off your love." Sim joked with a laugh.
"Shouldn't we make a bet first? Will Gian just take that pretty lady home, or will he ask her out on a date halfway?"
Bringing this up, the men in the car quickly got excited.
"I think Gian will ask that pretty lady out." Nick spoke up.
"But I bet that beautiful lady won't agree." Sim continued.
"My little wildcat, what do you think?" Matt looked down, his amber eyes gazing at Susie.
"I think Roddy isn't a casual girl." Susie said.
Susie even remembered that day when Gian was getting intimate with that blonde woman in the corner of the pool.
"Looks like Gian is going to seriously pursue a girl this time."
The men discussed enthusiastically as the car slowly stopped in the apartment's underground garage.
Matt took Susie's hand and walked into the elevator.
The men had no intention of going back to rest.
"So, shouldn't Miss Susie call that pretty lady and ask if she got home safely?"
The men were full of gossip.
On the living room sofa of the apartment, as soon as Susie sat down, she was surrounded by the men.
"Fine."
"I was going to call Roddy to check on her anyway."
Susie sighed and dialed Roddy's number.
When the call connected, Sim made a shushing gesture to the men.
"Hello, are you so eager to tell me what happened already?" Roddy asked on the other end.
"How can I explain such a crazy and wonderful thing over the phone? Of course I need to explain it to you in person." Susie laughed.
"I'm calling just to check if Gian got you home safely."
"Of course!" Roddy laughed on the other end.
"Oh, looks like Gian doesn't always succeed with girls."
Obviously, the men were all a bit disappointed.
"I guessed so." Susie said to the other end with a laugh.
"Let me guess, I'm not the center of your conversation right now, am I?" Roddy was smart and seemed to guess that the men were discussing her.
Susie didn't hide it, "The men made a bet that Gian would definitely take you out on a date tonight. I was the only one who bet you wouldn't go. So, thanks to you, my lucky goddess, I became tonight's biggest winner."
Susie said to Roddy on the other end with a laugh.
"Well, remember to use that money to take me out for good food." Roddy joked with Susie.
The two chatted briefly before hanging up.
"Miss Susie, you didn't arrange this with Miss Roddy beforehand, did you?"
The men who lost money were a bit upset and questioned Susie.
"I think you forgot that you guys suggested the bet first. I didn't know about it beforehand."
Susie's explanation was reasonable.
The guys reluctantly pulled out a few bills from their pockets and handed them to Susie.
Susie counted the money in her hands excitedly, looking like a money lover.
"Matt, looks like I have a real talent for gambling."
Counting the money, Susie couldn't help but remember the scene when Matt first took her to the casino.
She had even won tens of thousands of dollars in prizes with just a thousand dollars in chips.
"Of course."
Matt smiled and went along with Susie, "After all, my little wildcat is a lucky goddess."
Hearing Matt's words, the men covered their ears.
"See, the men are protesting against you." Susie laughed and rubbed her little head against Matt's chest.
"It's okay, they'll get used to it." Matt comforted her.
