Chapter 119

Chapter 119

Javier POV

I have been keeping a tap on Khan even since I escaped from his grasp. I found refuge in the East and I have slowly worked my way to the top. Adoff died after his fight with Fenris and that has only poisoned the heart of his son. His hatred for Khan and his family is something I hope to use for my own vengeance.

"Father, how long are we going to wait?" Ruth, my beautiful daughter aske.

A lot has happened to us since we left our home. She found her mate and was happy but he wasn't deserving of her so I killed him. That is a secret I will carry to my grave. She is serving her purpose by being the Adoff mistress. A lot of things are changing and Khan is the center figure of the change. I refused to accept the concept of a Nation, I refused to accept the coexistence of humans, wolves and heretics.

"Just for a while dear, we would find the right opportunity to go back as the rulers." I answered.

"I can't wait to mop the floor with her face." Her hatred for Dianna remains after all these years.

"I wish my mate would be there to see me serve them my anger." She pouted at the memory of her dead mate.

"He would be happy wherever he is."

"The present Adoff is such a child, he can't even make a decision without consulting the councilmen." She sounded disappointed.

"Don't worry my daughter, I have become the council myself."

"News from the South."

One of my servants came in and I wonder what news could be more surprising than the one I last heard. A fight between Khan and two others that are as powerful as him. I wish I was there to watch the spectacle, even as my enemy, I respect him for his strength. So, hearing that there were two more as powerful as he is, without an iota of doubt, I know their fight would be a stuff of legend and never shall we see a magnificent showdown.

"You can go back to Adoff, he needs you now that he has lost his father."

"He has his mate." My daughter replied.

"She doesn't hold a candle next to you. Go now my daughter and play your part in this our grand scheme of revenge." She reluctantly left the house, she may not like the present Adoff but her love for revenge and hatred for Dianna surpasses whatever feeling she has for Adoff.

"You can now tell me what news you bring."

"After their fight, they have rebuilt all the damages. Also the deadly weapons the humans made have been destroyed and it will take time to build another one." When I heard of the weapon I felt my plan would be useless. A weapon strong enough to kill multiple drifters at once and even powerful enough for Khan to take it seriously.

"Go ahead."

"Fenris is also back and looking at them now, everything seemed normal except for the fact Khan can't be seen."

"That is normal, it is rare to see Khan. Some can go for months and not catch a glimpse of Khan."

"Yes, but that is not the case now. I have been suspecting that he sustained a serious injury from the fight and have been taking his time to heal." He has some sense in what he just said. It would be surprising that he was unscathed after the fight.

"I used all the networks at my disposal and was able to figure out what was wrong with Khan. I heard Farkas and his mate speaking about him in a hush voice. She asked about the condition of Khan and he said he is yet to wake up."

"You mean to tell me that Khan is inactive right now?"

"It appears so." I smiled and my heart was filled with hope. I am finally getting what I wanted. With Khan out cold, their little Nation would be defenseless. Khan is the powerhouse and with him gone, they would be easy to pick on.

"Now is the best time to go fight them." I have amassed a large number of rogues that are willing to ravage the new Nation and take away the spoils.

"Even with Khan gone, they shouldn't be underestimated."

"How is that?"

Farkas and Fenris are no longer what they used to be. Fenris can proudly call himself the second strongest being alive.

"Is he stronger than the present Adoff?"

I have seen the boy trained till he passed out. I have seen how strong he has become and it is not a lie to say he has surpassed his father.

"Yes, I am afraid so. Also their battle strategies are more complicated than even humans are seen as a threat." I sighed as I started to rethink my options.

"Be it as it may, we have a better option of winning with Khan out of the picture." He started to speak but I stopped him.

"Have you ever been in the presence of Khan?" He shook his head.

"I suspected so, if you have then you will realize that this is our best option." He kept quiet.

"You should take my message to the rogues. Tell them to get ready that we are about to strike our enemy." He bowed and left then I also left the house to go see Adoff.

On my way to the Palace, I kept thinking of the best way to win against them. Like he said, even with Khan out of the picture, they shouldn't be underestimated. I need to find a way to demoralize them further. What is it that I need to do to demoralize them? On getting closer to the Palace, I saw the young Adoff and his mother walking out of the Palace.

"Luna." I bowed.

"You should start addressing me as her Highness." I rolled my eyes with my head bowed. They really want to adopt everything Anu Ukwu Nation is doing. I bit my tongue for having called them Anu Ukwu.

"Sorry, your Highness."

It left a bitter taste on my lips. She walked past me and I cursed her a million times in my mind. After I am done with Khan, she is the next in line. I will take that little Adoff from her. I gasped as this gave me the answer I have been looking for. With Khan in such a state, taking away the little Khan would surely demoralize them. I smiled as I entered the Palace. With the help of Ruth, I was able to locate Adoff. He was in a place that is best to speak to him about all these. He was standing before his father's grave when I walked in.

"You should know that I don't fancy people disturbing me when I am with my father." He is constantly releasing his ambience. Standing before him is like standing before a burning furnace.

"His Majesty, I have good news." I forced myself to breathe and act as if I am unaffected by his ambience.

"You better be." He turned to me.

"We have an opportunity to attack our enemy." As if it wasn't hot enough, he released more ambience and I am now doubting if Fenris would be able to handle him as my servant said.

"Tell me about it." I went ahead to explain everything that my servant just said and he seemed pleased by it.

"What are you waiting for, we should start matching to Anu Ukwu then."

"Not yet, His Majesty. I don't want to just deliver big damage on them, I want to trample on them and have them chain as well as they walk before us. I want to take everything from them."

"So, what is your plan?" I smiled as he was always an easy one to manipulate.

"We should kidnap the little Khan." He was rendered speechless at the genius of my plan.

"You, my friend, is someone I wouldn't want as an enemy." I smirked at his words and felt proud.

"Do whatever you must and don't take too much time, for we will attack them in four days." I nodded and left his presence with a mindset that is the opposite of failure.

I sent my servant to go kidnap the next Khan and make sure to drill it to them how important it is and how fast they need to be. I waited for their return and Adoff also prepared for the battle. They came back two days later with rather disappointing news.

"Sorry to disappoint you, we are unable to get him." He couldn't even look into my eyes. Something has broken him.

"Was he that much protected?" I remembered how unprotected they used to leave Khan back then, I am sure it is still the same now.

"No, he was always left to play alone. From what I have seen, he hardly plays with kids of his age. He is mostly alone and no guards are assigned to protect him."

"Then, why were you unable to kidnap him?" My patient was already getting thin and Adoff attacks in the next two days.

"He appears to be unapproachable. When I stood before him, I was gripping with great fear. He was just kneeling playing with his favorite toy. The moment I entered, he turned to look at me. He was clearly showing me who he is and how superior he is to me."

One of the disadvantages of being a wolf is being unable to resist an Alpha. Regardless of the fact that he is still a child, he is the next Khan, so sending a werewolf to get him was wrong of me.

"You should have asked a human to do it." Unlike wolves and heretics that sense a superior, humans don't have such ability.

"I did that and it was still the same thing. The human came back crying and it was as if the child knew what we wanted to do and he was showing us we couldn't do anything." This spoiled my plan. I took a seat and closed my eyes to think of the next plan. It wasn't long till I came up with another plan.
