Chapter 118

Chapter 118

Dianna

"You are beautiful." Phoenix said with bloody lips. He tried to smile but coughed instead.

"Easy now." I cleaned off the blood on his lips.

"His dead body should be taken deep into the mountain and laid beside his mate." I nodded at his instruction.

That was the dying wish of the dead Khan. Although he lived as a villain, he died as a hero. So, it is not a bad thing to grant his dying wish.

"I will make sure of that." I sniffed.

"Take care of the children." His breathing was labored and he smiled and shut his eyes.

"Khan." Fenris came closer with worry etched in his face.

"What is wrong?" He asked and I wiped my tears and tried my best to calm the alarm ringing in my heart.

"He is dying?" Farkas said and I started to panic.

"Let us take him inside." Fenris said and they all carried him inside. The drifters are all dead and dried up, it was as if their age had caught up with them.

"About the Progenitor." I asked.

"Don't worry my Queen, I heard his last request. I will try my best to locate the cave and lay him beside his mate." Fenris said and I nodded.

If Khan was awake, there wouldn't have been my need for him to stress himself looking for the cave. We went inside to take care of Khan, only a handful went inside and the rest stayed back to take care of the damages. The doctor checked his vitals and was unable to see anything wrong with him. He tried his best to stop the bleeding and cleaned his wound.

"His state is beyond my ability." The doctor sighed.

"He seemed to be dying but at the same time struggling to survive." The situation has seemed to have baffled him.

"We all know that Khan surpassed all logic." I mustered a smile and everyone nodded. After cleaning him, everybody left, leaving me alone with Khan.

I looked at the cuts in his body and they were all looking ugly. An idea struck me, I took the knife the doctor used to cut out Khan's cloth. I cut my palm with the knife and squeezed out my blood then allowed it to drop into his wounds. After making sure that enough blood flowed into his system, I waited hoping to see him move but nothing happened.

"I guess you need to rest." I smiled and the door opened at that moment. Nora walked in carrying Ralph.

"What is wrong?" I asked.

"He is running temperature." Nora replied and she was surprised as I was. It is almost impossible for a wolf child to be sick and it is certainly impossible for a child with the gene of Khan to be sick.

"How is that possible.? I carried my son and truly, he was having a fever.

"What about his sister Rieka?"

"She is fine, she is with Cassie." Farkas joined us at that moment.

"Farkas, has Khan ever been sick?"

I asked as I felt like my whole world was falling apart and I am just hanging on a thread. I am trying my best not to show my weakness.

"Never." He replied and touched Ralph and spoke.

"Then it is true." I muttered.

"What is true?" I have already contacted the doctor to come back.

"Before the stranger died, he said that if he dies, what made Khan the strongest dies with him. I think that is why Khan is still in the condition and Ralph, who is next in line, is feeling weak." Farkas answered. How is all these possible, how can Khan be related to such a stranger?

"Let me see the child." I handled Ralph over to the doctor. After a while, he handed him back to me.

"He will be fine, he is already recovering. His present condition is a result of his connection to Khan. Don't worry my Queen, he will be." The doctor said and I breathed a sigh of relief. I still have Khan to worry about but I am sure he will wake up, it is just a matter of when.

Anu Ukwu has returned to her glory days and all damages are being repaired. Thank God for Khan, much life wasn't lost. He is still not awake and Fenris is still gone to lay the progenitor to rest. It has been more than one week and the running of the Nation was left for Farkas and I. Farkas needed things to hasten up and made sure only a few people knew about Phoenix's condition. He said our enemies would attack us once they knew of his condition and with Fenris being away, Anu Ukwu is in a bad condition. I have to appear every day looking strong and telling them that Khan is fine and just taking time to recover his lost strength. The only good thing was that Ralph is no longer sick and it is a sign that Khan would one day wake up.

I was on the throne when Fenris came back looking dirty. I am sure he came straight to find me the moment he came back.

"Welcome, Fenris."

"Thank you, my Queen. I searched for the cave but it was closer than I expected. It took me more than a week to locate it but only a few hours to get back."

"I recommend you for your good work." He said.

"I saw something peculiar and that is why I came to you without resting or seeing family because you needed to see it." I frowned as I wondered what had made Fenris this impatient.

"What could that be?" I asked.

"I can't really say it, even if I say, it will sound unbelievable." He desperately needed me to go with him.

"Don't worry, it is not far and we will be back before they notice that you are not around." I feel like I owe him the trust, he had been looking for the dead body of Titus's mate for over a week now and came straight to me instead of his family.

"Alright, let us go."

I followed him and he led me deep into the mountains. It was filled with snow and I know the snow has been the dawn of time. He led me to the cave and I saw the dead body of the progenitor beside another. I walked up to the two and gasped as I saw the frozen corpse beside the progenitor.

"Yes, I was surprised too. She looked just like you." Fenris said. That she looked like me is an understatement, one can mistake her for me.

"When I first got here, I feared that it was you and that the worst had happened. I realized that this was the reason he was acting weird the first time we saw the progenitor." Fenris was referring to the night we first saw the first Khan.

Unable to resist, I touched the frozen corpse to make sure it was real. The moment my hand touched the corpse, it was thrown into a world of light.

"You are finally here?" I heard a voice and I turned to see the same woman that had been frozen speaking behind me.

"You really look like me." She spoke gently and I could feel immense love from her.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Mother of all Khan and the Mate of Nelson." She went further to explain her life and she met Titus.

"Unable to go to the afterlife, I have been waiting for Nelson to find me." She has been waiting for eternity in a space between life and death for the progenitor.

"Do you think he would find you?" I asked.

"Yes, he thinks that his strength comes from Titus but he is wrong. When he realized that he has always been strong. He will break free from all shackles and find me. I promise to wait for him in thousands of worlds and thousands of realities." What a great love story they have.

"Don't worry about your mate, he will find you too." She reassured me and I nodded.

"Thank you for laying his body next to mine, one day we would be united in soul too."

"I am sure you will." I added.

"We don't have much time, the power given to Khan by Titus has left him. He is now seeking new strength and he will find it in you. Don't worry, they will always come back to us." Her voice faded and I came back to reality.

"I have been calling you." Fenris said and he sounded worried.

"Sorry about that." I smiled as the encounter reawakened my hope.

"Let us go, leave the love birds to rest." Without a doubt, I know they will find each other.
