Chapter 94 Chapter 94: Father's Regret
Chapter 94: Father's Regret
Darius’ POV
“Cassie! What is this?” She asked about the pendant in the box. I told them to give it to her. I decided not to get closer to her, but I didn’t mean that I wouldn’t care about her.
I love her, and I am happy watching her smile, laugh, and enjoy being here in the palace. It’s been days, yet she still couldn’t remember anything.
I always make sure to shower her with gifts. She thought that all of those things came from her friends without knowing that they actually came from me. That’s the least thing I could do for now.
“This one? Let’s say that someone wants to give you this. Isn’t it gorgeous?” Cassie told her. She nodded her head and smiled. She immediately wore the jade pendant, and that made me smile.
When I was sick and dying, she was there to help me. She always took good care of me. Because of what she did, I slowly had the courage to live again.
I know she’s still mad these days, she hates me, but she still helps me. She still makes sure that I am alright and that I will recover.
Her hatred didn’t become the hindrance to prevent her from helping me. She indeed has a great heart.
She’s an angel. My angel. I let out a deep sigh. I just miss her. I want to hold her hands, caress her cheeks, smell her hair, and hug her. I miss her. I missed everything about her. Watching her seems not enough right now.
She’s adorable. Sometimes I can’t help myself, and at night I sneak into her room and watch her sleep.
She snores sometimes, but I don’t care. I sneak touching her cheeks, holding her hands. I want to hug her, to get the opportunity while she’s sleeping, but I am afraid she will wake up and get afraid of me.
“This is great, whoever gave this to me. I want that person to know that I like it,” she said while staring at herself in the mirror.
“It seems like someone is deeply falling,” I heard Adam murmuring. I glared at him, which made him quiet.
“Don’t worry, I know that person already knows that you like it,” Cassie uttered, and she looked in my direction. I hurriedly hid my smile.
They decided to help her. That’s not a problem for me. After all, they are her friends. They are close, and that way, she can’t get bored while staying here in the palace. Maybe it’s better that they are always here for her.
I also talked to everyone to be kind and respectful to her. The palace knew about it.
“Really? Can I meet that person you’re referring to? I want to personally meet and thank whoever that is,” I heard her say.
I looked away. You can’t meet me, Vishiea. And I know even if you don’t remember anything from the past, you’ll never dare to meet someone like me.
“She wants to meet you, your majesty,” Adam said. I could hear him teasing me.
It’s hard to stop myself from seeing you, Vishiea. Fuck! If you only knew how badly I wanted to claim you, Vishiea.
I am afraid that I couldn’t stop this feeling. But I am doing everything I can to do it.
“Your majesty, someone is looking for you,” a guard approached us. I stood up and followed the guards.
We entered the room, and when Adam opened the door, my eyes darkened.
What is he doing? Why is he here?
I was about to leave the room, but he stopped me.
“Darius, son.” He called out my name. I stopped from leaving the room. I looked at him with disdain.
What brings him here? Didn’t I already tell him that he’s not allowed to enter the palace? Is he really pissing me off?
“What do you want?” I asked firmly. He tried to approach me, but I stopped him.
He understood what I meant and stayed where he was.
If he’s here to ruin me and Vishiea again, I will not let that happen. He had done too much to destroy us.
Why can’t he just accept Vishiea? Why can’t he just let us be together? If he acts like he loves me, he wouldn’t do this. My life is a mess now because the only person I love can’t even remember me, and she hated me. I can’t even do anything about it.
“Darius, I am here to apologize for everything.” He uttered. I was surprised but stood still. Is it too late to apologize to me?
He just decided to apologize, but everything can’t be fixed.
“It’s too late to apologize,” I coldly uttered. He looked at me.
He’s my father, but what he did was too much. The impact was too much. And the person who suffered from his mistake is no other than my mate.
“I’m sorry. I know it’s too late. But I want you to know that I regret everything I did. I was blinded by jealousy. Your grandfather always favored Vishiea’s father. He treated him as his own son and always saw me as a mistake.” He uttered. I was surprised to hear him say those words.
It’s not only because Rachelle’s father was his friend, but there’s also a deeper reason why he acted like that.
“Your grandfather tried to make him a prince too, but I refused. I did everything I could to stop it. I was blinded by jealousy. I am sorry, and I just hated the fact that she would marry you, my son. I tried everything I could to push her family away from the palace. I believed Rachelle’s father’s accusations, and I was wrong. I didn’t know that her mother was also poisoned by Rachelle’s mother. Believe me, son.” He confessed. He tried to hold my hand, but I distanced myself.
“Darius, I’m sorry. I am the one to blame for everything. I am sorry, son. And I am deeply sorry for what happened to Vishiea. It’s all my fault, and it’s fine if you punish me,” he said, asking for forgiveness.
I didn’t know what to say, knowing that he also became a victim.
“I thought I was only doing what’s good for you without knowing that I was slowly destroying everything. I’m sorry. I realized my mistake. I am a bad father,” he uttered.
I let out a deep sigh.
“I can’t forgive you now. Everything is still fresh. Please leave the palace,” I told him. He couldn’t say a word. Yet he still followed me.
“I’m sorry, son. I hope one day you can forgive me for everything I did to you,” he uttered before leaving.
I went back to the room and stared at Vishiea.
I don’t know if you could understand it, Vishiea. I know you went through too much pain.
Maybe it’s better if you don’t remember me.
