Chapter 93 Chapter 93: Forgotten

Chapter 93 Chapter 93: Forgotten

Chapter 93: Forgotten

Darius’ POV

I stared at her face. I am happy that she has already woken up. But the thing is, she couldn't remember anything. That’s because of what that bitch did to her.

She smashed the metal chair on her head, and I was too late to stop it because even though I had already destroyed Rachelle's heart, she still managed to hurt me using her claws.

Adam made sure that Rachelle could no longer be revived and cut that bitch’s head. When I looked at Vishiea that day, she was already showering with her own blood. I almost didn't even recognize her because of the wound she received from them.

She was barely alive, and I couldn’t even hear her heart beating.

I was fucking afraid that she would die. I carried her that day and went out of that room, but then something unexpected happened.

An old man attacked me. I didn’t see that coming. Nathan saw it and immediately ran towards us. He used his own body to save us.

He got stabbed in his chest. My eyes widened because of what he did. I was lost for words, and Adam arrived and killed the man.

“Go! Save her!” Nathan shouted, but he was already vomiting blood.

“Carry him with you, Adam!” I shouted at Adam, but Nathan was stubborn; he threatened to kill Adam if he dared to touch him. Until he lost consciousness.

We both rushed them to the palace to cure, but unfortunately Nathan didn't survive. I remember the last words he told me.

“Take care of her. Don’t ever hurt her again,” he said before he died.

I lost many of my soldiers because of what happened. Families grieved.

I warned Nathan before to never get closer to Vishiea, but he disobeyed me. I know he loved her as a man. I could see it. I am still thankful because if it weren’t for him, maybe—just maybe—I would no longer see Vishiea right now.

But destiny really wanted to play me. She couldn’t remember anything. Even her family, her friends. Even me—she could no longer remember.

I feel devastated because of what happened. I should be the one to blame here. Rachelle took revenge on her.

She doesn’t deserve to be here.

My father found out what happened. He disagreed and got mad because of what I did. He couldn’t accept that I sacrificed hundreds of lives just to save Vishiea.

Without knowing that he also made a mistake why things went out like this.

I already cut off ties with my father. Mom couldn’t accept what I did and she had a heart attack. She died, and now my father is living alone. I prohibited him from entering the palace.

It hurts that our family turned into this mess, but I had enough of them controlling me.

I am not a kid anymore. I already know how to decide what’s best for me.

All I could do now was stare at her from afar.

I was over the moon when the doctor informed me that she was awake after being unconscious for almost a month. I stood up immediately and planned to visit her, but his next words shattered me.

He told me that she lost her memories. I checked it and couldn’t believe what he said, but when I saw her wandering around, asking too many questions to her aunt, when she couldn’t even recognize the family who adopted her—

I hid behind that door, listening to their conversation.

I closed my fist. She suffered too much because of me. She doesn’t deserve to be in this situation.

I am a useless Mate. I only hurt her. I thought that what I did was best for her, but even until now, she’s still suffering for everything.

“Your majesty, why don’t you approach her?” Adam asked me. I let out a deep sigh.

After I learned of the betrayal of Hanzel, my former personal guard, I exiled him from the palace.

Rachelle and he hid the truth that they were actually mates.

I was furious because they played me. It turned out that when Rachelle got pregnant, it was Hanzel’s child. I knew I never touched her or anything. I was just too drunk that night, but I don’t remember anything that happened between us.

She made me believe that the child she was carrying was mine. But the truth was, it was Hanzel’s child.

She was already caught in her lies, and yet she still denied it.

That’s why I hired Adam to be my personal assistant now. I was too wrong with my decision. It was Rachelle’s dad who insisted on recommending Hanzel to be my personal bodyguard that day, and I agreed without hesitation. But he planned everything.

I was played by her family and my dad’s plan. Now I regret everything. I don’t have the face to show to Vishiea. I can’t even dare to talk to her.

I am afraid that she would run away from the palace again if she finds out the truth—if she remembers the past.

I am afraid that I will not see her again.

I don’t want that to happen anymore. I want her to stay here. I can’t talk to her, but I can always watch her from afar.

“I can’t. I can’t face her. After what I did to her, after putting her in that situation, I feel like I don’t have the right to talk to her,” I told him.

He let out a deep sigh and also watched from afar.

“You saved her at any cost. You always chose what’s best for her. You did everything to protect her. You deserve to talk to her. She deserves to know you, even just your name,” he said. He was right, but it’s not easy to do that.

I am afraid that when her memories come back, she would hate me. She would distance herself from me.

She’s precious, and I can’t watch her leave again.

I am afraid that if she does that, I will force her to stay. I don’t want that to happen. Maybe it’s better if we stay like this.

“Maybe it’s better if she doesn’t remember the past,” I murmured. He looked at me, but I stood up and started walking away.
